I am from gilgit , I have done genetic studiee of our people . Most accurate recent history is that we had Dardistan state in Swat and kohistan region of 🇵🇰 . We migrated to Gilgit where there were bursushu / Hunza people living . Some sheens migrate towards kashmir from astore valley
Our religion was bhuddism and local pagan and we accept islam during when persian siant came to kashmir . One conversion was done by syed ahmed shaheed students who migrated from balakot to north

The Dards are pure Aryans. I lived in Kashmir Valley (am a Dogra from Jammu) the Kashmiris and Dards are cousins and original pure Aryans and both speak (Shina and Kashmiri is very close) an Aryan (Indo-European). Most of Bharat is Aryan and this mighty race originated in the Northwestern region of Indian subcontinent and touching Central Asia.Dardic people and Kashmirs are in this original region.

Pashtuns, Pamiris, Walkhis Haryana Jatts and Rors all have more Aryan ancestry than Kashmiri and Shina people and Pashtuns and Tajiks have way less south Asian Hunter gatherer ancestry than Kashmiris and Shina ..

@@studyali1067 shina language is not adopted by any people may bi people in Gilgit baltistan use shina as there 3 languge cause majority population of Gilgit baltistan is shina in ladakh leh side shina manly in Aryan valley, s people use purgi and balti as their 2 languge but we drassis not able to speak this balti and purgi cause we do not live with them some drass area people speak purgi balti as 3 languge but not majoritey speak this tibtan languge we use urdu for communication in kargil town. shina languge is alway,s used by shina people cause it,s very tough for other people it,s ethnic languge onley native,s use as first languge shina people where you find are same people not like punajbi speaker who same are rajput some are jutt etc shina dardi is himself is caste or ethenicety like pasthton

Don’t know about india side but in Gilgit baltistan we have tribes of shina dardic people . Sheen and Yaskun is the biggest and dominant ones . Sheen are like ruling class as current CM and ministers are majority Sheen . Yashkun are second

There is no mystery regarding these people. The are the cousins of us Kashmiris and Kashmiri language and Shina is extremely close. It is no secret that the mighty Aryan Race originated in this region and merged region of Central Asia. Thus both the Darads (not Dards) and we Kashmiris are the purest Aryans. Once Semitic Islam arrived in this region many of us accepted our beloved Islam. Before people in this region were Hindu-Buddhists. The history of the Darads is also found in the ancient epic of Kashmir Rajataringini. It was the Darad Yusuf Shah Chak (whose immediate ancestor took up Shia Islam) from Gurez region who decimated the huge army of Akbar. Also the Jewish lobby is trying by fraud to Semitize this region racially by using the Semitic connection of Islam, but can never achieve this in our Aryan region. Race and Religion often do not mix. Note even Negroid, Mongol, etc. people can follow Semitic Islam religiously.

Lol this comment is so uneducated and wrong first there is modern technology and DNA research these people are not purely Aryan nobody really is .. All south Asian carry both ancestral indigenous south Asian ancestry and also Steppe (Aryan) ancestry that’s even Dravidian speakers of south India ..
A Pashtun and a Tajik from Pakistan and Afghanistan has higher Steppe (Aryan) ancestry than Shina and Kashmiris and also way less ancestral indigenous South Asian ancestry compared to these groups .. Even the most isolated Dardic groups like Kalash has more indigenous south Asian ancestry and less Aryan Steppe ancestry than a average Pashtun you are walking around ..
They look different.. kashmiri look more indic(south Asian) while shina people look more west and central Asian more similar to tajikstanis

The aryan language of kargil ladakh is ancient form of shina dialect..which is also spoken in 5 villages of batalik sector of kargil ladakh&ganokh village of kharmang baltistan...from skardu.

I'm from cholok's grandson's and Cholok migrated to present Bagrote Valley and other brother's migrations, which I have heard are not like your's, I'm sure because the name which you gave me are same as my ancestor's told.

So for as the origion race and historical back ground of Great Dard/Sina people is concerned ,no historian, author, writer has given clear back ground about this community. Different historians have floated different opinions ,some are in this opinion that they are pure Arian Race whereas others say they are the Army of Skinder the great who turn back and ran away when Skinder The Great died in Afganistan during hard winter.and they crossed different passes of mountains as Khyber ,Boolan and so on so forth and settled these areas where pastures , forests.rivers were available and adopted occupatioñ of farming, rearing sheep, goats and cattle
The whole areas was named as Dardistan/ Baltistan and their language was shina.which combination of Sanaskirath and other languages.
Kashmiris are either Pandiths or Jews . They have no any link with Shina/ Dard community,as shina community's culture, traditions ,customs,rituals,behaviou saytem is quite different as compared with Kashmiris .

They maintained their names of Shankar, Pandu Chak, etc. Yusuf Chak led the Kashmiris (his kin) and the Kashmiris thrashed the huge army of Akbar more than once.
