Well today with computers they know the exact degree of the ramp entrance and regress and they know the speed and the bikes are better that makes it easier when Evel Knievel jump it he just went balls out and hope it worked I'm sure there was some science behind it but it was very primitive though I loved watching the jump
I don't think Evel used so much as a calculator to coordinate his jumps but just stand at the end of the parking lot with his arm out, thumb up, and one eye closed saying "Yup! Full throttle. The crowd will love it!"
This man is made of the exact same stuff as Evel was...using a replica bike and not a lighter one...those that try and minimize what this dude has done aren't even willing to do half the stuff he's actually DONE...Evel Knievel would have applauded this great athlete.

There are no big venues or sponsors in the world now that would even allow something as dangerous as what Evel used to do. It's a different world now than it was in the 1970's, it certainly doesn't make Pastrana any less talented, go look at some of the stuff he has accomplished besides these Evel tributes.

To me, this jump was more important since Travis did it on a bike that was a lot like Evel's Harley, which made it more challenging.
