As a 20 y/o whos trying to IRL stream from bad habbit, anxiety, just bad life style to a high established man. You sir have earned a follower ❤
That's awesome! Thank you so much :)
Wow, so helpful and concise. great video!
Thank you so much :)
This is it Cliff! Late to watch this one but exactly what I was looking for as a casual IRL streamer
No worries, glad to help! Good luck on your next IRL stream :)
Is it possible to overlay additional script sources to do things like display live donation amount changing on screen, and even incorporated augmented reality?
Only what Streamlabs Mobile supports which is basically their own alerts (subs, bits, etc). Not sure about augmented reality (haven't seen it) but that's probably a nope for now
very nice set set up and video!!
Thank you so much, really appreciated :)
How do you deal with having to charge your phone while a mic is connected ? Alot of usb splitters cause audio problems
The Ulanzi receiver that I use cuts the audio for a sec then goes back to normal when I plug in a USB cable to charge the phone. I talk about the mic in this video here - th-cam.com/video/RO2GzJTlFos/w-d-xo.html
Great video Cliff. Any recommendations for a cheap microphone or do you just use the phone mic? How has the stream quality been with just a phone plan compared to using a LiveU?
Thank you so much! So far, I've used the inbuilt mic, Ulanzi J12 and Rode Wireless Me. The Ulanzi is my favourite of the three but has a few issues I should probably cover in a video. Maybe comparing all three?
I've done a few streams with a Belabox and Sony 300/3000 and will do more once I have all my own parts. Sadly no funds to compare these with a LiveU. Maybe in the future?
At the moment...
I prefer the "look" and "simplicity" of a phone stream. Less moving parts / hardware issues that can go wrong but I can see the advantages of an "IRL Backpack" like bonding multiple connections :)
@@cliffcreates There is no wind muff on the Ulanzi J12, doesn’t it get really bad when there’s wind?
@@Csgo-beast yeah, it's one of a few downsides to an otherwise great kit (in terms of value and portability). I'm currently thinking of ways to fix it
@@cliffcreates It's double the price (still considered affordable in wireless microphones space) but the saramonic blink500b2+ might be worth it over the Ulanzi J12. Can do anything it can do but better, also has the wind muffs and a reciver that can connect to a DSLR etc which gives more options on usability.
Let me know if you know an even better option than this for an affordable price point 😄
@@Csgo-beast it reminds of the Rode Wireless Me that I already have with all the extra cables and stuff. Probably great for audio but doesn't beat the Ulanzi in other ways I might have to put into a video
I have a very newbie question. Why can't I just go live using the Live option on TH-cam? I mean what's the advantage of doing this setup? Thank you
Hey, all good. I actually did a test stream using the TH-cam app a while back. It’s a fine app if that’s all you’ve got but it lacks in a couple of areas like not being able to stream above 720p and if you’re in a rough connection area the stream will stop meaning you’ll have to start a new stream every time that happens. You also can’t add overlays like your social network info and a few other things. Hope that helps :)
@@cliffcreates gotcha. Thanks!
is there a way to hold the phone vertically but make it stream horziontally?
I had same idea a while back as it's more natural to hold a phone that way (vertically) and would give you more screen real estate to work with (read chat, run commands, etc).
Sadly I haven't seen it in an app yet so the only way I can think of is to stream holding your phone horizontally to OBS on your home computer and then crop in with a plug-in like Aitum vertical.
@@cliffcreates gotcha. So I tried streamlabs. I went live on kick. But I’m
Not getting my chat from kick. Only from twitch. Even though I wasn’t live on twitch. Any fix for that?
@@JDXOGG Streamlabs hasn't added native support for Kick so when that happens I'm sure you'll see chat like with Twitch & TH-cam. For now maybe read Kick chat off a second phone?
Alternatively, a more elaborate setup where you stream from your phone to your home computer which is using Restream, then you'll get both chats.
@@cliffcreates ah ok cool I’ll use Restream and jsut go live on kick and twitch and hopefully they both show. Thanks
Hi, can you create a tutorial on how to set up a stream with 2 different cameras (action cams) and how to switch between the two cameras? I saw streamers like Jinnytty having a setup like that. thank you !
Sure, I've done a two cam setup using NoALBS and also Loopy, the second of which (Loopy) I'm currently using. I'll put it on the list of future videos. Thanks!
is Moblin the best iOS app for IRL streaming or not
I've had a brief look a Moblin and will do a review on it in the near future, so for now... results pending :)
Does this work for kick?
It should work using the custom RTMP section of the Streamlabs app and the Stream key info from your Kick account
as someone who is interested in eventually doing IRL streams, my one weakness is understanding plans and data, and how much it would cost :( Its very confusing for me
It depends how often and how long you'll IRL stream, also mobile data plans available for your area.
1GB of mobile data for every hour you stream should give you an idea of what you'll need. For example, if you only do one stream of 2 hours that works out to 2 x 1GB = 2 GB.
We have capped and unlimited plans where I live and I basically started with what I had until I ran out of data. I upgraded to a 20GB plan, then again to 100GB plan, until I switched to a provider with unlimited data plans.
Of course, this is my situation so you might be fine on a smaller plan, it's different for everyone.
@@cliffcreates thanks! I feel If/When I do stream It will be like 12 hours a day as it will be a travel stream. It makes me wonder how people do 24 hour streams, do they just buy multiple sims cards? I know we have unlimited plans here in Canada but after you use like 150GB, you get reduced rates at like 500kpbs, which i dont think you can stream on that
Tried using restrram for twitch and yt. And I did go live on both. But only got chat from twitch. Not sure how to fix.
Have you enabled restream's relay bot? support.restream.io/en/articles/2379624-restream-chat
