I've arrested the same person the next day. You think this guy is ever going to do any time? They lie to the citizens so much. No one does time for theft crimes. I have arrested a felon, who was also on bail for a felony (additional charge), in a stolen vehicle, and found stolen credit cards in the car. I then found he had charged up $3,000 on the stolen credit card.
He took the plea deal, 2 years, sounds pretty good right? He was in county jail for 9 days total. He got transferred to state prison. THE NEXT DAY, he was released on parole. But hey on paper they said he got 2 years. The public thinks he got two years.

There's nothing more frustrating than dealing with the poor, illogical, absurd judicial system and its branches. It's not just the judges in SF. Our justice system is corrupt. We lock up more of our own citizens than any other country in the world. California has so many prisoners and so many prisons that it can't raise taxes high enough to pay for it all.
So the courts use fines and fees to make up the difference so they don't have to cut enforcement.
That means when you get a ticket in Cali, the fines and fees are being used to pay for murder trials...
Yeah... lets just keep locking up more and more non violent offenders and hiring more and more people to be cops and prison guards.
You know because that's the American dream...

Yeah but locking someone up is not the answer either! We’ve seen the policies under conservative policies and progressive policies and neither work! The racism in this country has caused wealth gap and that has created a culture revolved around crime. That is not exclusive to the black race as poor whites and their crime rates show similarities in being without money and crime. We’re just swigging this back in forth with policies that don’t work. If we lock them up for a long time that’s a burden on tax money. If we let them go this happens.
