best to use dust sheets on bed etc
Gaining mucle 💪🌻. Up the hill with the wood you can back and pull it esier 🌻🌻
Your ceiling is looking very fine Maya. I really like your choice of materials and finish. How convenient that you were able to secure your wood planks in long lengths! Looking forward to seeing the finished product! 😊👍
Not sure why I'm addicted to this channel, Maya. I think it's because you're such a warm, positive person. Sunday wouldn't be the same without you. Keep up the great work!
I think because her generation doesn’t get the credit they deserve when she shows a work ethic and sustainability effort that truly matter in the World 🌎 And how she will make her life better and many who meet her on this journey 💪🏻
I have followed her from a comment she put on my daughter's channel. I follow her also as above. Also this is the year I plan to buy in Portugal 🇵🇹 so glad to seeing her do so well with the subscribers ❤
@@nickytanton107 Good luck. Hope you fulfil your dream.
Thank you very much, all the best to you
I agree. Also I too am a dentist, deep into the world of yoga and meditation.
Well.. I’ve just been looking at videos about Oceangate submarine, North Korea and I am bored so very please to watch Mayas project. Cheers.
Your channel gives me peace of mind. Thanks for the content.
You should lookup for wood chopping tips on youtube. You are probably putting a lot more effort into chopping that firewood than you need to.
A tip for wood chopping. When you get the axe stuck in the wood, flip it around and make it so that the dull axe head hits the bottom first. The weight of the wood coming down on the axe with inertia will split itself over it.
Thanks for this tip!!!
I don’t know and I’m pretty sure the design of Maya’s axe head is such that doing what @Zilvinas.Garnelis is suggesting could damage the axe head where it is hafted. Maya would need to have a single bit axe, with a flat sledge like striking surface on the reverse side from the bit of axe head. Her axe DOESN’T have it, so should not be used in the suggested manner. 🕉️
Your a force of nature maya feliz
Maya! Please don't forget to wear your safety glasses when using the nail gun! :)
Your ceiling looks cool. Great update Maya.
Keep going and keep dancing Maya x
💃
My favourite Sunday activity, too. If you think how much you have learnt and how you have developed. Wonderful.
Love your channel. I recommend watching how Martijn Doolaard splits his fire wood. Gathers a bunch and cinches them together tightly with a ratchet strap, splits each and somehow, they all are split when he unhooks the strap. Looks much easier and quicker.
Great Job you are doing at your property. You are doing such an amazing job there. Love watching your improvements come to life with your friends and family. I am watching you from South Florida. I was born in Frankfurt Germany when I was young. You are a very strong women. Thanks for sharing you life with us.
You should wear glasses when using the nail gun
And cutting wood 🪵 too
Maya, get some eye protection on for all these jobs! Kickback on all these tools can do REAL damage, ouch!😮 Otherwise, keep on your journey and remember, we are all cheering for you!
Ich auch, meine Liebe😊 lg aus Basel ;-) ❤
Turn the axe 🪓 having the wood on the top when splitting.
Then you don’t have the risk of hitting your leg, and the mass of the wood 🪵 will split itself over the axe.
also wood is much easier to split if it is not dry and hard. The wood should be cut and split before letting it dry completely
You should plant a climbing rose bush on that round pole of the room you were taking the wood in to paint? A bright color, would be beautiful. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖 PS as much as you have done you could make your own sawhorse with no problem what so ever 😊💖
Loved that you put the scaffolding to a different use. 👌🏼🤗
Wow,Maya every week I am more and more amazed with your capabilities.Bravo !!!!!!😊😊🇬🇷 🇬🇷
Admire your outlook, tenacity, honesty...and especially your sense of humor! Great captures and story telling!
Maya, I've seen guys split logs by turning the axe and log over .once the axe is lodged in the end of the log they hit the head of the axe on the stump. they say it's easier because it uses the weight of the log, rather than just boot strength to do the splitting. Axe on bottom log on top.
Love from Utah... I got my sister watching from Oklahoma, she loves you too! Please practice safety, it really makes a difference. Absolutely Love watching your Journey....❤❤❤❤
There might be a fortune in an electric powered wheel barrow.
I used to volunteer to chop wood, loved it.
I'm certainly no expert at log splitting myself but I'd be tempted to try cutting the logs shorter to see if that makes them easier to split
It's all looking so nice. The way you are chopping relies completely on your muscles😢 watch some youtube and learn how to swing so that the axehead speed does much more of the work for you. It's a bit scary at first but your back will love you for it❤🎉
a handy thing for painting boards is a garden sprayer, put the mix in the pump sprayer, pump it up spray the boards and wipe with a sponge, no brush strokes.. house is starting to look great, keep it up..
This is a very solid tip for anyone going repetitive work like the ceiling panels. Great time saver!
Hahaha, so funny seeing a chopsaw at the end of your bed 😂
Sharing your videos with my friends is my part time job.
😂👏
You can build saw horses out of a couple 2x4's for next to nothing. Good job on the ceiling!
Love your videos every Sunday, Maya. Inspirational.
Genau, this was what I was looking for.
Love the videos! We are planning on buying property in portugal aswell! Come winter we'll join you down there 😄 greetings from 2 meters of snow
Amazing job, Maya! It must be really nice to have a friend visit and to have her help. Enjoy and have a good, safe week. Thank you for sharing.

Ceiling looks great. Can’t wait to see the finished project.
The ceiling is progressing well. It will add another dimension to the insulated roof.
WOW big job with ceiling and you cutting & spitting wood. It looks as if your wood bottom block on which you split the logs is not on solid ground which makes it springy and absorbing power when you hit. Put a flat solid big slab of stone/cement under it which should make it easier to split the logs.
Não Não pare de dançar 😊
“I know there are better tools for doing this” then rips the log apart with her hands.
Feats of strength!
Yep it's me. 😂
With each swing of the axe ,you see the confidence grow ,great to see the evolution!
A girl that splits wood like Maya is a girl you do not argue with. All strength to your elbow. (A North England saying)
I'm cut them shorter your going to destroy your back.use the chainsaw to cut the width and length. Save your energy for something else
Sometimes I have to laugh at the way you approach problems, or perform work. But I admire your perseverance and you will to clear things. After all, you do it for a while now.
Not many women are able to follow you in this battle of creating your dream house.
There are chores that I would tackle differently with my experience, which would require the desire time to be shortened nicely, but you do not ask for advice, and stubbornly look for a route to get it done in your way.
There are also many people who are unable to make mistakes, with whom the guts are missing, but he or she who does not make mistakes, learn too little to become a complete profession, and you are well on your way to achieving that performance.
My compliments for your efforts, and my respect for your approach, keep on going Maya.
You need to invest in a log splitter makes life so easy don’t forget to add carbon alarm to the ceiling
wood splits better green, as fast as possible after you cut the tree.. and a good cleaving axe also does wonders, they have different shape like a sledge hammer with a sharp side lol cheers
Maya I love your drive and hard work to make your place in this big world 🌎🌍. I Pray Your Life to be full of Jesus 💙🙏👣👣👣 Great Dreams , Peace and all God's Blessings ❤🙌
Até a próxima! ❤Love you! Thanks for sharing. Kiss
Maya Sweetie, thisis Gramps, from the USA, and I just have to say that you are one awesome young lady!
I haven't found out anything about your background yet, but I do know that you're from Germany, and you have to be, or have been a model at one time seeing that you're so beautiful, but I envy you on your choice of property, and your willpower at transforming your new homestead into such a livable, and beautiful place to live!
I have become infatuated with not only your beauty, and your infectious smile, but also with your determination at wanting to finish what you started, and I wish you the best!
You are simply amazing, and I can't wait to see the finished project!
Best wishes, Gramps 🫠🥰💖👍😊
Hi Maya, I admire your creativity and enthusiasm. And how you tackle all the challenges! Please, can you let me know what kind of saw (Bosch) you used?
Sandy
Someone else who uses the phrase stoked, its a you've done a spectacular job thus far, but watching you push yourself chop those logs was punishment itself.
My husband has the wider axe called a splitter it much chunkier with med and long handled versions and it does what it says on the tin.
The other option is to keep your axe well and truly sharpened.
But I know you know that.
You mention a bad back, I disabled with my back and haven't been able to do anthing as any little thing causes spasms which are painful, and after almost 24 years my back is deformed, to start with.
Please look after your back, as like you I was very active, I raced karts, I married I self built our home with my husband which he taught me every thing I know and still remember, roofing plumbing, bricking, tiling, everything. I did enjoy.
Then just before brexit we sold and moved to France for a better quality of life.
And my hubby to renovate our new place.
I watch you with such enthusiasm and hope. As I know you have high promise.
I look forward to your next video xx
I love the way you use natural ingredients instead of harmful chemicals!! You are so cool 😎❤️
❤❤❤and I found a channel with content similar to mine,, I love every moment in the video
Girl by a log splitter! Save your strength for other projects!
Blessings!
Young lady, where are your safety gargle. Not wise, you only get one pair of eyes 😢... PS, maybe build a wood box...
Can I ask whi the artist is of the song you like to play..I think It,s named I,ts a new day?..thank you, love your,e channel..❤❤
Hi Maya I love to watch your videos because what ever you do you are always happy girl even when you have hard times on your house restoration thanks very much cheers 🥂 👋👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️
Really awesome to see the way you carry on with all your work.just take care when handling power tools.looking forward to more videos from you.By the way, I am following you from Malaysia 🇲🇾
If you have cat pee on anything, look up a product called "ary Orange." Baring that, paint the area with pure orange juice. It will do away with the smell.
Hey Maya shiny blue eyes in the Sun why don't none of the TH-camrs show us their electric bikes I Saw 4 inch tire I think it was an electric bike I have two electric bikes Maya a priority current which I want to sell 2000 First Cash takes it and I have a aostirmotor no pedal
Borax??? What you have used on the wood? You have to bugs xylophene quimic or to preserve it linseed oil or bee wax
I was gonna say.... you are doing so much work with your back. Which is not good. But it seems you realized that on your own. :)
Where is all your 'safety' gear when using your power tools?????😯😯🤔🤔
Great work. I’ve seen (and used) off cut pieces of interlocking boards to hammer against instead of risking damaging the tongue and groove on the full pieces you’re using. You just pop the off cut tongue in the groove of the piece you want to hammer in straight and tight and use that as an intermediary and it doesn’t matter if it gets a little damaged. Might be helpful for next time.
Maya, you can build saw horses very simply out of trees from your land. Tons of "how to" videos on TH-cam
She's a lumberjack and she's OK, she sleeps all night and video all day.
It's beautiful to paint the wood white. Kisses from Brazil
Wow. Well done. Bosch is good… Makita is better (no slight on the home country).
ps another tip chopping wet wood is much less hard then dry wood + it also dry faster + you save alot of energy..
Stacking the wood up right next to the fire is a fire hazard for you. Please be careful x
I suggest you buy your self a paint roller much better than a brush,,ask the local hardware store.
When you start on the other buildings you could consider naturel wool for insulation instead of chemical products.
I haven’t seen any lates video. Are you not posting any more videos??
A wedge might help or rent a splitter and do all the wood for the season...you are amazing
Please Maya! Wear safety glasses when using the nail gun! I love your channel btw!
Claudia
Hey Maya I saw on TH-cam start your start your log cut with your ex then turn it upside down maybe that works
LG EW
Would be better to use safety glasses when working to wood and the spotnail gun. Be safe!!
I wish i could help you to chop the firewood. I've never done this before but i want to very much...^-^' Auf deutsch würd ichs so ausdrücken: Ich hab da übel bock drauf. xD
You're such a boss Maya! Oh!? You seem to have a decent amount of straight logs, so for saw horses you might just cut/screw some together! They're really just 2 A-frames with a straight piece or 2 between... Oh! Maybe see if a chainsaw wood mill attachment might be worth getting?
You could make some pretty good sawhorses out of branches and logs!
I’m sorry to tell you that that cat pee smell is just what insulation smells like when it’s wet. I looked it up and everybody says that you just have to keep it dry and then it won’t smell.
I really want to do what you are doing… dream for me to buy a little piece of neglected rural Portugal and bring some life back to it.
Who needs a gym! All that wood cutting is a workout!
You’re holding the Axe too close to the head. Try moving both your hands to the end of the handle and let the weight of the Axe do the work.
Maya ,bist du Deutsche oder Englanderin ? Ich glaube ,du bistDeutscher Du bist sehr fleisig. Ich bin sehr beeindruckt !
Love you , I wish I could do something like this , u r very impressive love your property
The axe you’re using does not look like a splitting axe. If you get one of those your life will be easier.
I'll give you 2 or 3 tips to split wood better, (1) you have to take the handle of the ax with both hands from the end and pass it over your head, like a baseball player,
without being too rigid and without putting too much force into it you will see that the force of gravity will do its job (2) when the ax sticks into the piece but it does not split repeat the blow by lifting the ax with the piece above your head do swing the handle and hit the log you use on the ground with the flat head of the axe,
(3) since you are so tall it is better that you put your trunk to split uphill and you downhill so you don't have to stoop too much, I noticed that in many things you do you always bend with your back and a little with your knees, you should change this posture of yours, now that you are young you won't pay too much attention to it but in the long run your back will suffer
Please don't stack your wood so close to the fire, so many homes burn down due to this.
Hey Maya you need to do like all these other TH-cam people get sponsors they'll send you free stuff
I bet your body was sore after that chopping session!
you need a "splitting maul" for your firewood
