    As a pro builder ans landscapper sometimes its frustrating seeing people mistakes, waste time, materials and energy, etc. But in your case, just see you willing to try, work hard, and keep on going, and doing it full of joy, its actually inspiring. You are doing great. Congrats.

    Instead of putting heavy tile on the balcony I would paint the floor of the balcony is bright colors. Maybe squiggle shapes.... Something fun to see to make you smile.😊

    Having an otter in the river is good sign It shows that the river is healthy and not polluted

    • @joeb4142
      @joeb4142 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The otter is a spirit animal that can symbolize joy, playfulness, adaptability, independence, freedom, and more.
      Joy: Otters can help people rediscover their joy and celebrate it in everyday life. They can also encourage people to share in the happiness of others.
      Independence and freedom: Otters can represent personal freedom and embracing life with passion.
      Adaptability: Otters can represent the ability to find joy in life's challenges and navigate difficult situations.
      Inner child: Otters can represent the inner child in all of us. Reconnecting with your inner child can help you embrace joy in the present moment.
      So, I’d say the otter is the perfect spirit animal for Maya!

    The mix of sand and cement is called mortar it is only concrete when you add the stones. You got it correct in the second half of the video!

    I think tile on your balcony is a good idea.
    Do the outward facing edges first. Then the put the floor tile down so they overlap the edge of the vertical tiles. That will make for a nice clean finish! 👍

    Well, I looked up your weather. If you are near Coimbra you are going to be cool and rainy all week. You had better think of some inside jobs. I really enjoy your channel. You have accomplished so much to be on your own. I know you have help sometimes, but that is a heck of a lot of work you’ve been doing. I can’t wait for when you get to live in the beautiful stone buildings.

P.S. don’t forget to sponge the cement to give it a smooth finish.

    When the cement or mortar begins to dry you can smoothen up the surface with a wet soft flat pad. Usually, they are made out of hard sponge or polystyrene.

    Maya you are quite the perfectionist. Isn't it fun renovating and using morter? love your process. How exciting. The concrete lintels and doors and window ways in the stone house are GORgeous and what an amazing job you, your helpers and volunteers did on the deep drainage of the stone house. wow, what a beautiful process...we call them praying mantis in US they are protected...Maya you have inspired me so much I went ahead and started my own youtube channel so i can share my property search in Portugal this winter when i arrive in Dec thru March to narrow down my search in North and Central then find a property. Thanx for all of your sharing. you have learned so much. You are now a professional Hugs. Gina in Upstate New York USA moving to Portugal

    Dear Maya, if you’ve ever seen a 50 year old man living permanently in a state institution due to a severe brain injury from falling off his roof, you would never work on your roof or balcony without a proper rope and harness. This poor man’s life was altered permanently. It’s not worth the risk. Your Japanese friend was perched right on the edge of the balcony. I hate to see a lawsuit ruin your house dreams. I make no apology for sounding “extreme.”
