this is easily my favourite car ever, i've had a lot of memories with this car, 6 years of my childhood spent with this car and it had no problems. sadly my dad crashed the car and we downgraded to a mazda mpv but the smax holds a special place in my heart and i hope to own one
the S-Max was very popular here in Singapore during its launch time, though only available with a 2.3L petrol engine... my family rented various units quite a number of time, 3rd row seating is a little tight though... was quite surprised the engine is capable even during full load of 7 people on board with some baggage, as we have plenty of multi-storey carpark to tackle which some MPVs such as the Hyundai Trajet may gasp to move uphill on full load... on the other hand, the bigger Galaxy model is almost not seen on our roads, perhaps losing its appeal as people preferred the Toyota Estima/Previa/Alphard/Vellfire, Mazda MPV, Honda Oddysey, Nissan Elgrand and Volkswagen Sharan models for larger MPV, which also proves sliding rear doors are much more preferred for Asian market...
That was available after the 2010 facelift. My parents have a 1.6ecoboost s-max and the engine is strong enough. Even with a 2600 kg trailer behind it.

I’ve just actually bought a 2009 Ford s max Titanium as a second car for the family, for under £1500, it drives superb, nice looking car.
Just bought one today powershift stressing reading about all the problems
