Happened to watch this one after the recommendation from a fellow friend. Loved it. You ( Creators of ALUX ) guys absolutely nailed IT. Same applies to the influencer community as well. Once they lose the steam , it's very difficult to get back on track.
Check for their genuine engagement to know if they've bought followers/likes/comments. A simple rule of thumb is 10% engagement for a following of a couple hundreds to about 90k and 5% for 100k to 1M, and usually less for over 1M following.
Empathy is a big factor of emotional intelligence. According to my research on human behaviour, one can increase their empathy by reading literature like Shakespeare. I personally find modern superhero movies do the job for me.

I see the future of social media moving over to blockchains in an ever-increasing degree as the adoption of this new technology accelerates. Current projects such as Scorum and Steemit are struggling for a foothold at the moment and but new projects such as EOS's "Voice" will be launching soon with a much larger marketing budget. The next phase of adoption is likely to see a big move of current social media influencers into the more lucrative blockchain based sites where the trust issue is easily addressed by the community of users themselves. With blockchain technology, top influencers can reward as well as be rewarded by their followers, and products can not only be advertised in conjunction with their blog posts but sold on the platform with the native cryptocurrencies that are being earned there. Scorum, for example, is targeting the sports industry and all of the associated advertising, as well as event ticketing and promotional options. If successful any athlete and their sponsors could not only promote themselves, their products and their sport on a dedicated social media platform, but they could also develop a massive individual secondary cryptocurrency income stream from their fans that follow them on social media. Currently, these sites are relatively unknown and have not been taken advantage of by many prominent influencers but it is only a matter of time until these benefits are revealed through marketing and "must have" apps to a more widespread audience. There are many projects happening in the same way that social networks were showing up left and right a decade ago. It all depends on the competitive advantage and behavior improvements they can add to the users life. Facebook was the first one to get you to use your real name & have mass adoption. The ad model is flawed and we see something like steemit & rize as a viable competitor but they don’t have the audience size the limes of facebook and google. Existing big companies have a major advantage here. We’ll have to wait and see

I can also confirm that recommandations from authentic people increased the sells much faster anyways. Authenticity is the key. Stick to it.

Now I don’t personally know her, so she could honestly be a great person, but I didn’t like how she used her social media to verbally attack Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner. When her album “Queen” didn’t have higher first week sales numbers than Travis Scott’s album “Astroworld”, she lashed out and claimed that the couple used the fact that they had a baby as promotion for Travis Scott’s album causing him to reach number 1 for first week sales rather than her. Nicki’s brand once stood for the representation of quality content from the demographic of powerful African American women, but her actions set herself up to look like a player hater. I don’t feel it’s too late for her, but I think it’s still taking some time for her to gain some of the trust back from her supporters. It’s crazy how one bad action can effect on a long term spectrum.

New Media. I personally no longer pay any Attention to Toms hardware Tech influencers ever since they just told people to just buy Nvidia RTX cards before they could be bench marked last summer. They received allot of backlash and there was considerable transference of trust to the competitors that took them to task. They lost allot credibility in that community and do not top out google search in that world anymore. Intel is also currently suffering huge setbacks in the enthusiast and gamer markets at the hands of AMD. I agree that there is a huge shift in the influencer space. People now have more choice when researching product reviews and it is creating/breaking cultures of belief.

To me influencers immediately lose their credibility when they 1) play dirty trick to gain followers by following you back but then unfollow you after few days. 2) make lies just to promote a brand. 3) too many ads or paid partnership while use non of those products personally. 3) being hypocrites. For example, there are influencers claim how an animal lover or animal welfare advocate they are but then they choose to endorse Loreal, a brand that is not known for animal cruelty-free. Many influencers do not have a college degree and are not even knowledgable about the products they are promoting. So I will only follow those influencers for fashion, styling or makeup inspiration. I will not look for them for health, beauty, and finance advice.

Intel is also currently suffering huge setbacks in the enthusiast and gamer markets at the hands of AMD. I agree that there is a huge shift in the influencer space. People now have more choice when researching product reviews and it is creating/breaking cultures of belief.
Affiliate marketing is something i've been doing since 2001, long before TH-cam, Facebook,etc existing ,..just now kinda all people talk about it.
New Media - Interesting concept. Any influencer is only as good as the products they represent. They need to be of high quality and satisfy my expectations. If so then I will share with my following, if not then time to move on.

To me influencers immediately lose their credibility when they 1) play dirty trick to gain followers by following you back but then unfollow you after few days. 2) make lies just to promote a brand. 3) too many ads or paid partnership while use non of those products personally. 3) being hypocrites. For example, there are influencers claim how an animal lover or animal welfare advocate they are but then they choose to endorse Loreal, a brand that is not known for animal cruelty-free.
Many influencers do not have a college degree and are not even knowledgable about the products they are promoting. So I will only follow those influencers for fashion, styling or makeup inspiration. I will not look for them for health, beauty, and finance advice.

I just came across this video and it summarize my thoughts about social media influencers perfectly because everywhere I look most people are doing the same thing or taking the same pictures, I'm a Trinidadian American living in Việt Nam and I especially see it here because it's cultural mindset of non individuality so everyone dresses the same and take pictures the same which often joke about with my girlfriend who is Vietnamese, I've also decided to TH-cam about my life here in Việt Nam and have taken a completely different approach with my TH-cam channel because I do not want to be just another travel blogger saying and doing the same things I see on TH-cam on Instagram.
Influencing certainly is the new media 😎🇦🇺 And as so as an Influencer begins to sound like a Television Advertisement, then their influence will wane.

I follow these social media influencers in entertainment niche and they were making little ads about this drink called bang energy and know I want to buy it and I never heard ilof it before them . And it was so obvious they were sponsored.

New Media! Great video, even tho it's on a smaller level, I helped Jeremy Fragrance (fragrance influencer) to build his own fragrance brand (fragrance.one) which pre-sold close to $1m on Kickstarter. Now I'm working with other solid influencers to do the same!

What I find fascinating is that most influencers (paid influences) are in North America and Canada. I am really hard pressed to find anyone who is doing well in Australia for example... Or the UK... Not sure if this is cultural. I know many of my peers rarely look at TH-cam for content. Would love to see data sets on this.
