- Today, Let’s dissect the mushroom!
Mushrooms are a very easily visible ingredient.
Mushrooms are often mistaken for plants, but in fact, they are organisms belonging to the fungus kingdom, similar to mold.
Spores produced by mushrooms can be easily observed.
After removing the stalk, place the mushroom cap on black paper.

Makes me realize how terrifying mushrooms would be as an alalog horror thing if they didn't exist irl
some species of fungus can take over animal hosts. these usually occur in flies, ants, beetles, and other insects. one famous example is the corticepts fungus species, which infects ants, taking over their body (not mind) and making them travel to a location with suitable conditions, before making them bite down on a leaf before the ant dies and serves as nutrients.
There's already a mushroom with a human host

Guys.
I knew them all. No need to remind me.
Mushrooms are actually more closely related to animals than to plants.

I mean mushrooms always had been vegan’s choices for protein for decades if not century.
@@MP-vc4nuTheir point is that mushroom maybe isn't that Vegan as they think it is.
I mean people who think that mushrooms are a plant obviously failed biology class. I wonder what we will find out about mushrooms in future as it interests me a lot.
no they arent.
animals have a plethora of organs and cells that do many different things to keep the body alive.
mushrooms do not.
@@darkshadowsx5949ok they don't have a brain, so what? There's plenty of people on the Internet that can also do that.
"Let's dissect the mushroom!"
"But, there is literally nothing inside"
You could have just said that Fungi are much more closely related to animals than plants: The Fungi Kingdom diverged from the Animal Kingdom only a few million years after it first emerged.
Fungi were also the first organisms on land besides bacteria. They crushed the rocky terrain into soil which paved the way for plants. There were some species of fungi that grew upto heights of tall trees and only remain in fossils now.
Because fungi are constantly fighting bacteria over dominance, they produce substances that kill bacteria. As such, they are also the root of modern medical science itself. From alchohol to antibiotics-all were first derived from fungus.
Fungus eat stuff to live, we eat stuff to live.
Therefore, we are mushroom.
@@MeowtronStaryeah, they were like obelisks, straight and tall

Kinda wished he explored further by explaining how fairy rings are formed.
They’re created by fairies, duuuh
If you catch a fairy in a bottle it will heal your wounds in gratitude when you release it.
Fairies have short attention spans.
It's the mycelium growing (expanding), and the center (origin) dying. Kind of like those grass balls whose center dies off while the expanding new outer growth keeps growing until it looks like a circle.
I had a mushroom friend in the past. You could say he was a fun guy.
He had a sister. She was a fun gal.
@@EdKolisHow do you know that? 💀
And they also had a pet, big chungus kind of pet called Fungus 😂
0:20 that mushroom in the middle has cool sunglasses on
What kind of medium did you use for these shrooms? They look delicious.
And where's Sebastian? My cat loves the occasional fried mushroom.
why u calling me
Sebastian got turned into the shiitake mushroom
He's no longer a cat
I thought they looked like deathcaps. And I have an aversion of eating anything that looks like a deathcap
The guy said in the video it was shiitake
lowkey thought everyone knew mushrooms aren't plants
Not everyone, at least not the Americans... (shh, don't tell 'em)
I will note that the texture of the stalk of most mushrooms is also often different from the texture of the cap. These particular examples don't have that texture difference, but most European and American mushrooms have two textures. I know this because when I cook mushrooms I forage, I separate the two because the cooking times are different
i like this type of videos, even if is short we can learn a lot about things

One of the cutest things I have seen hiking was a small Squirrel 🐿️. The little thing was next to me for a short while then stopped to dig for a second then appeared with a mushroom in its mouth. I was about to take a picture becouse it was really cute. The little guy lost it midair when it leaped away. I waited a second and the squirrel cautiously came back and got it then darted off ☺️
Do you have photo?
@@Lmao-ke9lq I just saw the response. I did take a few photos of squirrels that day on a hike up Alum Cave trail to Mt. LeConte including that squirrel in mid jump although a bit blurry . Oddly the only place "locally" that I have seen Reds is in that area. I believe that I do still have a few pictures on the phone I had at the time '2020'ish . I think I also posted on Facebook about the same time as well .

Oh the irony if a poison mushroom spores gets into your eyes during hiking

Cows aren't chickens because they tell you to "eat moar chikin". Chickens wouldn't misspell "chicken".

Funny thing using various pesticides you can cause mushrooms to grow in your yard.
Why is your sound effects so loud?
Because they don't live off sunlight. The end.
Can you do octopus anatomy

Mushrooms are a common ancestor of both plants and animals. Arguably the oldest macroscopic lifeform, mushrooms had their distinct shape at least 2.4 billion years ago.
They are not ancestors of plants or animals
@@user-xi5ej4ox5s yes, they are. Mushrooms literally created everything.

Does Sebastian eat mushrooms? I think I know the answer but wondering 😂
Sebastian : Mushroom? noop.
💀
That white stuff on the black paper are the spors.☝🤓
"Why mooshrooms are not plant?"
The answer is very simple: because they are made of cells different from plant cells.
It is like asking "why are chairs not people?"
I like the kinds of muchrooms that bleed blue
I'll be honest, the spores on the black paper is kind of gross, but shitake tastes delicious.

So we've been eating PP the whole time??
Please dissect fish but two kind of fish, Carnivorous and Herbivore
Or do octopus or squid
The medium, aka, the bread in the woohoo section of Kroger.
A long winded way to say Fungi cannot perform photosynthesis. That's the real answer. To be a plant you MUST be able to do that.
Some plants are parasitic and don't perform photosynthesis, these plants still have chloroplasts but they are no longer active. Kelp is capable of photosynthesis but is not a plant.
Is this official global channel of @Science_Fish ? or is this not?

Omg.... it is not the body of a mushroom...... what we eating😱🤣
Where is the cat? It hates mushroom, doesn’t it?
Mushroom spores grow into HIPAA?
Mushrooms are in no way plants, they are fungus, one of the 5 kingdoms of life. these kingdoms include Minera (bacteria, sometimes split into more kingdoms), protozoa (bunch of random shit that does not fit into other kingdoms), Fungus, Animalia, and plantae. They externally digest dead animal and plant matter, and are known as decomposers. another really interesting thing about fungus is the mycelium many mushrooms sprout from said mycelium. mycelium is a structure that resembles roots and similarly grows underground. this mycelium acts a lot like nerves and can send signals. this allows large colonies of mushrooms to quickly become immune to diseases before they are wiped out.
The 5 kingdom model is very out dated
@@TheRedKnight101 I'm not surprised, but that is what I learned and I haven't updated that specific knowledge yet. I learned it a few years ago, but I did learn it in the US (famous for using outdated information).

Ye say they are shiitake Mushrooms, but they look an awful lot like Amanita phalloides or death cap, which are quite deadly.
Also dosn't shi mean death in Japanese?
pretty much yeah
The name has nothing to do with death. Shii is a type of trees and take means mushroom
@@mizarle827 no its a letter that looks a little like an L and the number 4, but it also means death. Death like for instance death cap. It is a very common mushroom in my country and it is as I said quite deadly.
I would be very careful about eating anything that looks like a death cap, and if it got shi in its name, well that is just a mayor red flag right there aren't it?
@@rphb5870 in Japanese there is Kanji which is really complicated but basically a lot of sounds are tied to concepts and multiple concepts share the same sound but have different meanings and are wrote out differently despite being made up of the same characters
