I kinda liked the old voice better. It sounded very fake, yeah, but the channel's editing feels kind of like a meme, so the TTS voice suited the vibe. The whole "meme post editing" contrasted wonderfully to the genuinely interesting, informative content.
I don't like it either, and I bet this change wasn't intentional, maybe the old narrator got a little too greedy, or somehow incapacitated. Very unfortunate.
Isn't it a known fact that venus flytrap moves using hydraulics? It's the same way they move leaves etc (yeah, plants do turn leaves to face the sun as it moves across the sky). Only in that case there's certain potential energy stored in the way cellulose organised inside this leaf like a spring. Once the hydraulics released, the celluluse spring contracts and the leaf closes. That's why cut-off leaf doesn't close: it needs water for the hydraulics to work.

If you wash the nepenthes plant's sac, you can cook rice in it by putting rice, and steaming it inside a steamer. It would add flavor to the rice, but use a small one, cause the large ones usually have rodents in it.
