Van Halen is my favorite band and I tend to be overly critical of covers of their music. No one likes hearing their favorite music butchered. But you Sir, absolutely knocked this out of the park. I get the feeling Edward himself would be highly impressed. And that's about as high a compliment as I could give anyone.
@@monnecka , John I didn't know that, I almost mentioned them in the message on messenger I sent about my friend Josh Kirkland, he is incredible on Eruption. I seen van Halen about 4, maybe 5 times in the late 70's early 80's, with Roth, and Hagar. That reminds me there is a guy that people say would have been known as one of or possibly the Greatest heavy metal guitarist,he is good friends with Vie, or however you spell it, and I think they were in a band together, but he got the job as David Lee Roths lead guitarist and is on Roths first solo album after he left van halen. I'm trying to remember his name, but he came down with a disease, maybe lou gerigs , and is paralyzed from it, but with the help of a special computer, and his Dad playing what he tells him, they are incredible and he is an inspiration. I Saw the story on TV. It will make your eyes tear up. It's a sad story, I can't think of his name but maybe you or someone will recognize who I'm talking about, I have a guitar magazine that he's on the cover of. He made the big show, laid down the recordings and never got to do the tour. Gosh I hate it when I know someone's name, but it won't come out. John this is my first chance at checking out your TH-cam stuff, I just got home, it's almost 1am. And I have just started checking out the music, I will probably be up till the break of dawn, but I'm like a vampire, I see that sun rising, I want to go way down Under the cover, hahaha, I guess I got like that working for Swisher Sweets Cigars, I was a mechanic with them from 1990 to 2006. Working 2nd shift, you get off work,and it would take you till daylight to wind down. I figure you have seen it,but if not,you HAVE to, type it in this way on TH-cam, it should come up. Jimi Hendrix's version of All Along the watchtower, has always been one of my favorites,of All time, and that's a long time, but Jimi's radio version is awesome,but I never heard anybody cover it really close to the radio version, not even Jimi Hendrix himself, but this band got it. It'll blow your mind how close they came, the only thing that I wish they'd have gotten closer is the sound effects of the lead guitar around the 2min. Yes John, you're right, Jason Becker. He was incredible. And was very young when the disease struck him down quickly. Alot of people will never know who he is, and if he hadn't gotten sick with the disease, Everyone would know who he is, and not have forgotten his name, like I did. I’m seriously critical. This blew me out of the water. Both my husband and I were rapt. I hope this artist gets the acclaim comin his way. With all the practicing and training it takes to become this good..... you deserve the best. Really really good.
