As a prospective IU student and Marching Hundred member, thank you for uploading these videos of the pregame show! It’s super awesome to see this great marching band on the field.
Why did the third cymbal crash move on the SSB? Since Wilbur was here, it was in a distinctive spot that only the Hundred used to play (two beats later). Now it is being played like every other band that ever played the SSB. I noticed as soon as I heard the anthem and stopped to put in this comment. Please ask the guys in charge on behalf of an old Hundred guy. I know they know, and we noticed immediately. It's like Wilbur tapped me an the shoulder and called me a dull tool if I didn't leave this comment. Thanks to "RPH" for the great video, as always.
I'll bring this up with the directors at Homecoming. The Hundred got a new SSB arrangement in 2021 and there has been some recent turnover in drumline leadership, so it might have just gotten overlooked somewhere along the way. What spot was it specifically, on what lyric did the special cymbal crash occur?
Most likely not an arrangement thing, as we always taught SSB by rote on the drumline (my last year with IUDL was the 2022 season). Something may have gotten lost in translation between last year/this year though. I’ll reach out as well to see if they changed it on purpose or by accident
@@pi4music There's one from a couple of years ago that Rodney conducted that was exactly right. The third crash synchs w/ the BD and it rings like a shot. th-cam.com/video/43GnPhuF8t8/w-d-xo.html
@@pi4music Fixed it v Western Illinois!! Thanks to whoever passed the word. I suspect I'm not the only one who noticed. Wilbur will let you back into his heavenly backyard to help polish sousaphones now.
Usually when they leave out the plumes, it's because there's a chance of rain. I'm guessing that by the time it was clear that it would stay dry, the decision was already made. They had plumes at today's game.
If you're wondering why the football team's tunnel entrance is missing, it's because the DJ covered up the fight song with loud copyrighted music.
That was so annoying. There’s plenty of time for that type of music outside of pregame, the team run out should be to our fight song and nothing else!

As a proud IU alum, glad to see the Color Guard back. Just seems to add a little extra to the band! Great job to all!
Little bit of a switch up with the pregame this season. Thanks for the upload!

Would you happen to know why they weren’t wearing plumes?

I was born the last year before this that they had Colorguard.
