    They both look cool, but I like the skull the best. Next time you should try painting the snake with some of those color shifting powders and then fill the skull with the shavings.

    I agree that the skin texture takes away from the dinosaur, but I still like it more than the skull.. I am always amused when you forget your gloves, no idea why other than I can see me doing it as well. Thank you for an enjoyable video.

    Love both but the skull is pretty sweet, I really like the contrast between the skull and snake texture. I can imagine using the iridescent powder on just the snake and then either white or black (or leave clear) on the skull parts would look really awesome.

    It might be interesting to see if you could put some LED filament in when casting, so that the snake is a different color (maybe red?) from the skull. Might make it look like it's separate from the skull, instead of an integrated single piece.

    • @SylviaRustyFae
      @SylviaRustyFae ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinkin similar, tho more of a jack o lantern/nightlight idea of just stickin an LED inside it after pourin the resin (can quite easily seal up a small drilled hole in the bottom with some resin, and its not like anyone looks at the botom anyways)

  • @StrandedLifeform
    @StrandedLifeform ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think they both look great, but I agree about the dullness of the dinosaur. I wonder if you could use some clear gloss or paint on some resin to pop up the shine.
    For the skull mold, can you turn the mold inside out and paint the snake with color shift? I think that would look really cool.

    I like the sculpt of the dino better, I think the skull is a bit busy. Once the skull was lit up it looked way more readable than without, though, and is very nice! The dino looks pretty cool lit up, but it would look even nicer if its head wasn’t much dimmer than the body.

    I like the derpy dino! Pity the scales were matt rather than shiny but it seems to be the trend even with the snakes. I think Colour Shift powder on the snakes would make them stand out well against a 'crystal' skull. Possibly look great on the dino too, come to think of it.

    I think both of these cud become rly cool little nightlight situations if you drill out a small hole in the bottom and put a bright LED inside them. The top of the dino was barely lit at all with the light from the bottom, which is what made me think of stickin a light inside of them; a la a jack o lantern

    The skull is pretty cool, but the first thing I thought when I saw the dinosaur was a little army of dinosaurs, like a Yellow and Green Army, using little drips of colors in the clear resin. That would make a pretty nice gift for someone who likes dinosaurs or is a kid at heart.
    Maybe I have an overactive imagination. But how cool would it be to make a sort of resin diorama? A couple Dinos make some trees in eggs, just various pieces that come together like a scene. Then light it all up really nicely.
    Or, maybe make a dinosaur and then pour amber-colored resin over it to make it look like it's preserved in resin. That would be awesome!
