I’ve watched about half their games this season. They have incredible chemistry right now. They have adapted to Clark’s play style. When she gets a rebound, just start running. You can see everyone benefit from this.

Catching negative feelings because CC is more popular than them is on them, they need to develop their own playstyle that will also attract fans. I am sick of these WNBA players knocking Caitlin Clark! They show the classic signs of total jealousy that they aren’t the player who is bringing in increased viewership with outright talent! Instead they commit total cheap shots against her. These players are what we would call crybabies! Ever since the WNBA was created in 1997, it has lost money every single year. The only reason it has lived this long is that it has been subsidized by the male counterpart, the NBA. So the dream of reaching profitability, getting increased TV exposure, arousing loyal fan bases, narrowing pay disparity has thus far been unattainable. FINALLY there has arisen a single, highly talented, charismatic, drama-free, record-breaking player who is allowing the WNBA to make a gigantic leap towards attaining all those previously impossible goals. That singular player is Caitlin Clark.
And the WNBA is downplaying her records and skills and attraction. She was not picked to play in the Olympics. Veterans have expressed their scorn at her achievements saying she could not possibly be any more worthy of accolades and dollars. Many current players have openly expressed their jealousy and contempt of her. Several have gone out of their way to attack her physically, all in the name of teaching a rookie her place in the WNBA totem pole of respect. This is sheer lunacy.
Caitlin Clark should not be coddled and given special treatment. But neither should she be attacked and insulted. Some of the unnecessarily rough fouls she has received exposes how short-sighted and stupid Clark's contemporaries are. What do they think will happen if a hard foul causes her to tear an ACL or break an ankle? What will happen to all those new viewers, even if they are looking just out of curiosity? What will happen to those sold-out arenas? What will happen to all the newly scheduled televised games? What will happen to the collective PROFIT of the WNBA?
I’ll tell you what happens….they will put a man in a dress and send him I mean her out on the court as a Caitlin Clark doppelgänger.

Bingo. Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were generational talents that brought eyes to the NBA. They had a rivalry that drew millions of new fans. Caitlin Clark is doing the same thing on her own. She doesn't have a Bird or Magic, she's stuck with Angel Reese - someone who gets half of her rebounds from her own missed layups.
If the other players, coaches, and the media get their way and break Clark, the WNBA can kiss their selfish asses goodbye.

Used to watch wnba form time to time but it's so toxic eith this type of behavior that I'm not going to watch it anymore. It makes me sick. They are jealous, envious and racist.

They are projected to have 2.2 million fans this season (projection then just being just the average*240) we also know the reason why. It's Clark! Every game that she has played in attracts about 15,000 fans. Also Atlanta Dream who play in a 4,200 capacity arena on all of their home games except for tonight where they played Clark where the hawks play, state farm arena had 17,275 fans. A team who averages about 3,500 fans per game has bumped their average to now 5,500 fans becaue of that one game. Also, Indiana, has a 170% increase in home attendance from last year. Every team except for Minnesota has seen an increase in average attendance.
I overstated basketball. I played in elementary, junior high, and high school. Clark is the best thing that has happened to the WNBA. They are Jealous that people are coming to support Clark. And she deserves it! I support Clark.

I was under the impression that the Olympics wasn't allowing males to compete in female events. They told Lia Thomas he couldn't swim in the Olympics because he was male, yet they are letting Brittany Griner play in the basketball games. To be far, I started to watch some of the Fever games and whilst I only went there to see what all the hype was about, I enjoyed watching Carter, Boston, and Mitchell playing as a team. They can only get even better, once the whole team starts clicking. I'd go so far to say, that Boston and Carter will be an unstoppable duo in the future. WNBA? That's the issue with the WNBA in a nutshell. A once in a generation (lifetime?) talent shows up, and instead of trying to up their own game, the other players went into crab mentality. They don't want to be shown up, which is understandable, but instead of busting their asses to get better, they want to bust Caitlin Clark. If they're successful in tearing her down, you can bet the league will go right down the tubes again.
I gotta love the sound of crickets in that clip of empty WNBA stadiums. All of these jealousy / envy criticisms of CC confirm the cultural identity of women fighting as 'cat fights'. And for Angel Reese as Rookie of the Year, as queen bully girl leading the Sky's bully ball, that would highlight the WNBA as nothing more than a female version of back lot B-Ball. Not only is CC good, and the Fever a future champion, their play is creating a more positive image of WNBA B-Ball - once the cat fighting ends.

They love her in the NBA. They have thought about bringing women into NBA play since 1966. Back in April 2013, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks Mark Cuban said he would consider drafting Griner to the NBA. Griner expressed interest in the opportunity, but no offer to try out was extended by that team. Could Caitlin Clark be in the NBA? She might leave the WNBA for a women's league in Europe if they don't stop beating her up physically in every game.
No one is advising her in this way, but honestly, she should be looking for an exist that meets her existing endorsement deals contract language.
I really think she’s at risk of having a career ending injury at this point because of what league employees are doing to her, not discounting the possibility of her experiencing the celebrity PTSD that child TV stars used to get, and in turn, never wanting to play ever again.
WNBA management and the Players Union does not want another “Michael Jordan” telling coaches, GMs and owners, who she wants on the team and what plays to run. Nor do they want a “Wilt Chamberlain” rookie year, who at the time, broke eight NBA records in his first season.
League leadership and the players union are terrified that this kids performance has a possibility of unmasking their poor management of the league. For example, what if the ratings tanked, after signing this huge new media deal, due to some unpredictable action, good or bad, taken by Caitlin (i.e. leaving the USA to play overseas)?
Not only are some of Diana Taurasi’s records at stake, in the long run, what happens if a Rookie beats the 53-points WNBA scoring record? The WNBA and Players Union don’t want any of these things to even be remotely on the table
This paradoxical behavior and language is, in my opinion, the “players union” trying to “put Caitlin in her place” behind the scenes. A lot of the WNBAs top players have mothers, who were NCAA stars before the creation of the WNBA and have jobs in that community. They are protecting their legacies at the expense of the league’s popularity and revenue growth. At the end of her 4 year contract Caitlin should go overseas or quit basketball. All this emotional abuse isn’t worth it.
Why do we keep hearing, the “know your history” statement, which is not a “customer service” focused statement?
I feel like there is a MAJOR consumer choice issue going on here. The WNBA is seemingly telling its customers that they will not, under any circumstances, let fans dictate who is popular and who’s name sells the most product.
She’s so good, even with bullying, both on and off the court, they have to start rigging the outcome. The analytics group has figured out how to make her look bad, and on orders from the top, the coach and GM will sideline her when commanded to do so.
When her WNBA contact is up, she can go to FIBA, get fast tracked for naturalization in whatever county she qualifies, and then play in the Olympics for that country. Young Boomers and Old Gen Xers are trying to “pick winners”, in defiance of the evidence, and trying to tell the market what they are allowed buy.
I stand by my previous statement, the “players union” is trying to “put Caitlin in her place” and are pressuring traditional media outlets, refs, players and GMs to bully her because they have already made “informal promises” to others and she is getting in the way.
Only the sponsors and product manufacturers can reverse this. Otherwise she should plan to go to Europe at the end of her contract because this will not stop until she is injured or too traumatized to perform at a high level.
They are forgetting, she doesn’t have to stay in the USA and once her WNBA contract is up, pending on her endorsement deals, can leave forever. None of these things work the way the WNBA “management class” seems to believe.
Beside watching Clark, all there are spoiled me too’ers. The WNBA is going to go away unless more Clark’s show up to save it. It is all about performance, nothing else matters.
