      @@SwiftSportsNetwork It’s all good. As a Bears fan, I appreciate folks like yourself, that take fandom to another level, by informing yourself and then passing that info to others. You, Adam Mason, and others are greatly appreciated. I’m attending my first HOF Game and Induction ceremony this year. Drinks on me if you want to hit me up during that time. Peace!

    Wow! 2 HOF players in that draft with Tillman & Briggs. It could have been 3, we could have drafted Suggs at pick #4, but i remember someone saying he was too small or short to be DE & too slow to be OLB. He ended up being all-pro at both positions & HOF player himself. But hey, it's impossible to predict if someone is HOF caliber, but imagine that defense with him at DE instead of M.Haynes.

    I can say if Caleb doesn’t do well for sure for the first few years, we’re all gonna be thinking what would Justin have done, with trading the number one, getting Jared Verse and a second round center, Jpj? Using the Booker pick differently, how would we have looked? Still having Rome Keenan and DJ Everett the upgraded line, and Justin Fields? If Justin starts in Pittsburgh and does well, Caleb better have a 10 win season. With Verse we would’ve had a top defense, probably number one in the nfc, with that trio of receivers…what would Justin have done with that? Prolly woulda taken MHJ and Verse and JPJ and a better OT in the draft, keep next years draft picks and still get the punter, maybe even add a second or third round pick fleecing for Caleb. All that I can say is I hope Caleb is great because they bet all our chips he is

      He will be fine. The players that wanted Poles to keep Fields, will find out how much better Williams is even as a rookie. Everyone that knows football knew that there was no decision to be made, other than which qb, to draft!! Some of the players aren't very good at evaluating talent!!

    • @windycityflier23
      @windycityflier23 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johnreape2833 that is true but not to this situation. the majority of the team wanted fields so yes it was contradictory. That said I think it was the correct choice to move on. Fields was progressing but with modern contracts for QBs, it wasn’t worth the risk

    • @johnreape4353
      @johnreape4353 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@windycityflier23 That isn't correct at all. The "vocal Bears", wanted Fields. Most of the Bears players, didn't say anything. To come out against Fields, would have been stupid, not knowing for certain that Poles was going to trade him. Jaylon Johnson, Moore, and Brisker, were the " staunch defenders" of Fields, with Kmet, a more low key ally. It's very likely that the great majority of Bears players were hoping he would be traded ( so they had a chance to win in 2024)!!

    I disagree on the wind in Soldier Field being an impact other than a game a year. Old Candlestick in SF was windy most game days...didn't affect Montana or Young. Look at how a hard thrower like Fields light up Atlanta in the snow and wind, no problem. Everything is in place. Eberflus is now on the clock as he's been given the recipe for a winner. Ask GG about Bob Hayes, fastest human and a great wide receiver.

    Have not heard anyone mention how poles rigged this draft requiring DJ in addition to #1 this year leveraging how weak the panthers would be… Plus drafting to the strength of each draft with eyes to the next year as well. If you need proof of this “future” strategy he did not go DE/DT early knowing that is the strength of the’25 draft. Trust in Poles

    I don't ever see Braxton being successful at guard. The weakest part of his game is anchoring and stopping the bull rush. That's pretty much all guards do is defending bull rushes from much bigger and stronger guys. I don't see how Braxton is better inside. Better to just make him the swing tackle then trying to move him inside.
