    Hmm found only the first one interesting, rest seem too fanservicy. Sadly, they use too many red herrings/gimmicks to tell the story and have left narrative threads open in a very unsatisfying way. I need something that explains all these threads. My expectations are actually pretty low that they'll be able to pull it off hah.

      Yeah I kinda go back and forth with it. I think a lot of the gameplay mechanics could be pretty cool if rooted in things like this. But personally, I’m not really in the sequel camp so a lot of theories, though interesting, immediately fall short for me. Still, I thought these were fascinating points brought up by these creators!

    Sometimes I think the best way to interpret something is by thinking of it as if you were writing the story. Please bare with my somewhat long explanation. A long time ago, Glenn Lodbrok fought a creature he sarcastically referred to as "Stamp." Stamp agressively pursued them on an Island with a lone boy who happens to have a pet dog. Glenn and Sephiroth grew very close to the boy, but Sephiroth's relationship was cut short by tragedy. There is only one thing the boy left behind, his dog. Now I'm going to speculate. Glenn's/Sephiroth's team are followed by the only remnant of the boy, his dog. They recall a certain monster they just couldn't shake off and honor the boys memory by naming it after it. The dog is now "Stamp" of the original timeline and a Shinra icon of the heroes who saved him. This is a unique identifier prior to the world splitting.
    We are now introduced to two groups of extremes. On one hand, we have Gaia filled with the Ancients and overseen by the Goddess Minerva. On the other side, we have parasites who came to Gaia known as the Gi. The Gi desperately needed a new planet to cling to, so they attempted to overthrow the ancients without realizing their genetic makeup was incompatible with the planet. They're now locked in perpetual torture being unable to return to their own planet or the lifestream of Gaia. They cried out akin to angry prayers creating a devastaing release from death known as the "Black Materia." Their cries reach across the heavens to their own goddess, the Great Calamnity, "Jenova" who is aware of the presence of the Black Materia. They have found her in stasis with the Gi's pale blue skin and red eyes.
    A promising experiment arises with the genetic material within Jenova. Powerful soldiers could be made with one perfect sample: Sephiroth. Meanwhile a group of experiments were held underground using soldiers untainted by Jenova's cells to create soldiers worthy of Gaia's own defense system, "The Weapons." Such soldiers are known as Weiss the Immaculate. With the purity of Sephiroth's genes, he became one with Jenova. This link of flesh and blood provides Sephiroth the ability to enter the otherwise foreign lifestream as a savior. His control will release the bonds, choke the planet and they will travel to a new world. Meanwhile Genesis desperately tries to appease the Goddess. There is only one problem, his blood is tained by Jenova. Minerva rejects him, but his religous fervor finally pays off. He is taken to underground to be purified where Minerva's genes are create a second savior. He now has a fevor to destroy every trace of the Gi and Jenova, which will be the death of all soldiers if sucessful.
    Now the world is torn into many timelines not by Aerith, but the struggle of these higher powers. While Minerva is local to Gaia, the regeneration of Jenova cannot be stopped. There is one member of the party with a very important roll. Cid Highwind creates a method of space travel. He is now able to explore the cosmos and discover the secrets of the Gi as well as Jenova. This link will allow Cloud and Red13 to keep their promise to the Gi and come to a final conclusion. Meanwhile Vincent stumbles upon a necklace that was dropped by Sephiorth long ago. It's proof that Jenova is not the mother of Sephiroth and he keeps it as a keepsake of the woman he loved. When the party catch up with Sephiroth, they show him the image and he starts to realize something is wrong. He breaks his bonds with Jenova desperately seeking his real mother at the waterfall cave and decides to set things right. He recalls the time he took his best friends life and ask his own best friend "Genesis" to purify him after many clashes.
    At least, I'm think something along those lines for post FF7.

      The cid space travel stuff would be amazing tbh. I’ve always thought that this part could be expanded from the og.
      The Minerva stuff, I really want the game to earn that. It’s such a fine line between fan service and good storytelling. With no explicit mention of Minerva in the first two games, only crisis core, I think it would be a challenge.
      Love your ideas though. It’ll be fascinating to see how it all shakes out.

    Okay, theory time;
    In the OG in cosmo canyon, the cut scene in the observatory shows reincarnation via the lifestream, its shown by a green person dying, and then appearing on the other side of the planet as a red man.
    In advent children, rufus and kadaj are speaking and they discuss that history is inevitable to repeat itself on a cycle, due to the nature of the lifestream "bring your sephiroths amd your jenovas, we'll beat them each and every time, as life dictates" (something to that effect, is what rufus says)
    So my theory is this; we're witnessing another cycle.
    Its the same events repeating, and the party and characters have been reincarnated for this cycle, HOWEVER since sephiroth is unable to return to the planet due to jenovas cells, he is the same sephiroth they fought before, so he knows exactly how the events unfold, and thus is attempting changing the outcome.
    This also helps to make the gi and the announcement trailer make more sense, since the gi also cannot return, and they speak of the "beginnings of a stir, and theyre coming back"
    Its completely bonkers and almost certainly not going to be the direction they take, but pretty cool to think about non-theless

      It would definitely explain a lot of the gimmicks they added to the game. I think it would be awesome, instead of these things being in the game just for building fake hype/fanservice.

      That is fascinating. The Gi Nattak voice in the trailer recall would be bonkers lol. I like the idea of it being a cycle tbh. Not necessarily a sequel
