That gotta be ma favorite new word “guesstimate” 😂😂🔥 I did this in a manual GT myself. Good thing it wasn’t rainin that day, I work in SoFlo. The clutch on that one was a lot smoother than other ones I drove, so this vid helps me understand a lot better. BANGER vid bro 💪🏿
You know, I wasn’t originally a fan of the carbon fenders at first, but seeing how much you love them every single video and tik tok has made them grown on me, keep it up man
When I was taking driving lessons I had a very hard time with trying to accelerate with the gas pedal (clutch and gas I have no idea what people call it in English) but I am guessing that rev matching and accelerating with the clutch has the same principle, you just have to try it a couple times until you get the hang of it, But as always do it safe in a contained area like a parking lot :)
Thanks, i just picked up a gt350 and i'm struggling with this *first time manual driver*. This video helped me out a lot. I guess i just don't wanna damage the tremec.
I’ve done enough manual driving that when I watch this video know what he’s going to say. Sometimes the engine drives the car and sometimes the diff and car drive the engine. You can match engine and road speed either through blips and revs or use the clutch to rev/drive the engine. Nice Stang, would be fun with the Whipple.
I would not overthink it this much and trying to remember/calculate revs for each gear/speed (and I usually overthink everything ;o) just go by feel and sound, you'll get the hang of it after some time....you want to do it without thinking anyway just by feel or musle memory....I did not learn it on Mustang GT though (or any high power rwd car) and that might help as well if you have the choice, something like a FWD high-revving low torque Honda (that was my case) would be ideal car for learning it I would recommned starting with 4>3>2 when slowing down to a stop/turn and not too much speed and just see how close your blips are to the correct rpm for that gear...and as pointed out in the vid do not do it in rain if you drive a mustang gt or similar car the positive to remember is that pretty much any attempt to rev match is gonna make the life easier for your clutch as it will have less rpm difference to work out so do not be afraid to try and fail, just keep practising it when you feel like the situation calls for it next is heel and toe braking revmatching but in most cars that is only possible under pretty hard braking since usually the gas pedal is too low (far) under mild braking only wonder if the rev match is available on 15-17 as well when going with the Lund tune (some tune with 2018 intake is on the list for my 2016 GT PP1)
@@TobyVegaD would it be worse to give it too much or too little gas? I have times where the car very slightly springs forward after releasing the clutch with a bit too much gas
that is actually a technique called clutch kick (pressing clutch and building revs in neutral before engaging clutch again)....used in rwd cars to break traction on the rear wheels and put it into a drift so you better not be too hard on the gas in a rwd car when trying to revmatch, better start with giving it less until you learn how much
I’ve had many manual transmissions and just finding out im supposed to blip it…..the only thing I hear guys talk about is engine breaking when down shifting…which is bad for the synchronizers

Finaly!!!!!!!!! A Rev match video that is just simple talk and not some 5000000 page essay thank you 🙏

Very well explained. Lots of videos on TH-cam don't tell you how to read the rpm

A video where I can see the order you do things and the timing. 👌 Nice brother
thank you man, still confusing but i got the gist of it and am trying to learn it asap, love the vids bro
Appreciate it big time! Practice makes perfect brotha!

Great video man, teaching these kiddos something useful. Badass car too!

What’s up Tobey, your car was dope as hell, before the carbon fenders.
Bro?
@@TobyVegaD dont worry he trippin
Came from your TikTok and I love your car man and this video helped me so much with my car😁
Ty bro & glad I could help ❤️
Very good info and explanation.
He smooth ✔️
Before i tried it in real life i practiced in Euro Truck Simulator 2
After your in the lower gear and blip the throttle do you always just dumb the clutch? Cause if I don’t then my rpm’s don’t fast
I love ur mustang bro
Ty g ❤️
@@TobyVegaD when are u gonna have your Camaro?
Do u have to blip the throttle as you’re shifting gears? Or can u just blip throttle after you’ve selected the desired gear?
During shifting
So you blip the throttle while your still in gear or when your out of gear to go down?
00:50 if you're not careful there's going to be a happy ending to clean up.
Bro ive done that since watching initial D heel toe too have practised everytime i drive kinda got it down well now
Hell yeah
W vid
where did you get your shift knob at? I wanna get one like it.
thought I was watching mr roflwaffles for a sec
You saw the influence 🤣
Are the fenders missing paint?? That's what everyone thinks when they see that....
Yes they are
Good video. I need to practice in my 350z 🧐
same, straight downpipe with performance exhaust with rev match downshifting sounds sick!!!!
I have a 21 GT premium with the digital dash but mine shows what gear I am in on the tachometer how do I get it to show the RPMs
It’s in the settings!
So what would happen (in detail please) is I gave it to much gas when rev matching?
Just over revs & the clutch plates mash together at high speed. Very jerky 😅

Do you blip it in neutral before shifting down? Others blip it when it is in gear.
Seems he blips in gear..not sure which is better
I’ve had many manual transmissions and just finding out im supposed to blip it…..the only thing I hear guys talk about is engine breaking when down shifting…which is bad for the synchronizers
It’s not bad for synchros lol
Does rev matching always have to be a fast process
Pretty much! You can learn how to do it slowly first though :)
Don’t the mustang come with auto rev match tho?
Yea but only a certain year up & you may lose it depending upon your tune like I did
Did you not watch the part where he addressed that?
2018+ mustangs have the rev-matching, 2017 and older do not
is your manual transmission is the mt82?
Yes
@@TobyVegaDdo you experience lock out?
How did you afford this car as a college student
5:57 thats what she said 🤣
So after i blip, do i just let clutch out with no gas?
Yes, simultaneously!
@@TobyVegaD thank you, very helpful video
@@TobyVegaDfast let out?
@@TobyVegaD Like fully clutch out or on the biting point?
👀will i break my car if I don’t do it correctly 😭
No sir!
Do you still press de gas pedal aver Rev match?
Yes!
Is it bad if I don’t press the gas pedal after rev matching?
Bro I’ve had my car for a year and still can’t get it, it boggles
Under revving?
@@TobyVegaD yup that’s the issue, especially from 3rd to 2nd
@@carlosg2677 same 3rd to 2nd is the hardest I always fuck it up lool
Didn’t you end up money shifting it and blowing it up?
No?
Just float the gears
Please teach me I’m in ocala
Bet let’s do it!
@@TobyVegaD awesome let me know when!
Bros literally making a tutorial when he can barely do it himself 😅
Lol please
