Perfect example of why big units are unplayable. Sure they can do a lot of damage but you run so few you can't get objectives and one wrong roll and it's pinned and can't do anything. Titanic units should either have fearless or just can't be pinned
I'm noticing a couple loopholes in OPR that I might start to house rule. That's one of them. Adding "pass" activations for the army with fewer units is another.
@Good.Nuff.Gaming I think you are allowed to pass but only once. The rules change do much it's hard to remember lol. There are some loopholes. They did a good job at patching some though like my chaos lightning claw flyers. At one point you could make them have 77 AP1 attacks hitting on 2+ and also rending lol
Love how you guys started this off almost like a monster hunt. Have thought about a game mode like that where it's one big model against a bunch of others. Have to watch your Godzilla battle :D
Would've thought the Dao would take this one... The loss of the Titan is rough... Tom seems to have a firm handle of the rules. I'd speculate he plays regularly... Hope to see him and hear his minion more on thr channel.
Tom plays 40k competitively so he knows how to quickly grasp his rules - he's used to playing in timed conditions, but as you can see, he can also "turn off" the competitive side and go full on narrative. I hear you on the loss. The tau army he used was mine until I sold it to him. Shooting at my own models felt...icky.
Good game, but if they were standard prime brothers, they should have fearless. That means a reroll for morale of failed, on a 4+. 50/50 chance that squad would have stayed
Some of it was the old GW terrain that was super customizable. Some were the new kits that can really only be built one way. The scatter terrain was also a mix of scratch built and bought. The chemical silos were Pringles cans.
I cheerd for the Prime Brothers.🎉 On both sides, realy nice paintjobs😊 But how could the Titan draw a Los to the Knifeguys, When the suits standing in the way?😮
How is the internal balance for the Dao? The Surge Titan seems incredibly under powered for its points cost. Trying to switch over from 40k hoping more of my models will be useable but now I am not so sure.
Really big boys don't have the "umph" that you may be used to from 40k. Titans are the same thing. The big units are big, but not "we're all gonna die" big. It's nice because it means you don't have to forfeit when you see one on the table, but it hurts when you pride and joy knight titan gets killed in a single round.
@@Good.Nuff.Gaming I played my first game this weekend. Just 1k points. It was a lot of fun. Sooo much faster. Only 2 hours. Crisis suits with burst guns were terrible. I have to play around with it a lot more. I'm definitely interested to play more.
Knight Brothers have a special ability called teleport. It says, “before attacking, place this model anywhere within 6 in.” Does that mean 6” from where it currently is? Or within 6” of… something?
@@Good.Nuff.Gaming thanks, makes sense to me. I’m going to bring the good word of OPR to my 40K group and trying to nail down any potentially confusing rules down for their armies to help them ease into the game better
Nah, they are home brew chapter based on the Knights Errant and the cover to the Horus Heresy book "Garro." I know those become the Grey Knights, but I liked the idea of a chapter that can pull from all others, and has a very simple but still effective paint scheme.
Not sure where you all are but if you are in Cincinnati area drop me a line. I would love to play a game. Never played but I can field 2k in nearly any faction with a few exceptions and been studying this game daily for past couple months. Problem with retiring at 50, all your friends and family still have to work.
The battle ambience was hilarious! ^_^

@@blackmagick77 I will definitely look up if there are any existing "pass" rules, because often that plays a bigger role in the game than it should.
@Good.Nuff.Gaming For sure. In Warhammer you would be crazy to do that but in OPR being forced to move can be so rough
@@blackmagick77they should add ambush like they do in Bolt Action.
Really fun batrep. One of the best I've seen from you guys. Thanks for sharing!
Also Savage Kitty Thunder is built, just need to paint and detail it.

Well done! Wish we could have seen the baby titan!

Small little note, but this change to Fearless makes it more effective on low Quality units than on high Quality units.
Yeah, we missed that. My desire to play lots of different armies comes at the cost of only remembering 80% of the rules for each.
@Good.Nuff.Gaming but it's good enough
I would love to know what Models are being used for the Dao. Im starting to print mine and love these for the battle suits and surge titan.
All the models for the Dao are Games Workshop models for their Tau army.
Very cool fight
What was the terrian base? home built or bought looks good

fckn lol

We house-ruled it a bit and said with his height he could see over.

I believe it's 6" from where it started the activation. Basically it gets a 12" movement, and I totally forgot they had that.

From What edition are those Mission Cards?
Those are from many a year ago. I haven't printed new ones in years.
Love the report. Are the "space marines" painted up like the chapter from Astartes?

I'm in VA. And I'm jealous that you retired at 50. I've got another 20 years before I get there.
The algorithm is not favoring GNG😢 I have not a vid in months
What!? Heresy! I've been cranking them out weekly and then sometimes twice a week.
Prime Brothers are not an ok army. Army-wide 3+/2+ should be custodian level. Absolutely broken army.
After this game, I'd have to agree with you.
