How I would hit 150g of protein in a day

  • Here's how I would hit 150g of protein in a full day of eating:
    150g or protein is about what I eat in a day but If you aren’t sure how much protein you personally should be eating, Around 1g per pound of bodyweight is a great place to start if you’re active.
    For breakfast, I have Greek yogurt. Not only are there a lot of ways to make it tasty, but it’s a great option if you're short on time and don’t want to cook to start your day. I love it with berries or granola or some chopped walnuts
    For lunch, I have about 8 oz of lean fish like Grouper or Cod.
    Grouper has 28g of protein per 4 ounces, so it’s a great option for a lean protein source.
    For dinner, I have 5 oz of steak, which I love using in tacos, on a salad, or in a stir fry.
    And since I have a sweet tooth, I would include a protein treat like a protein pop tart for dessert.
    Hitting your daily protein intake goal comes down to planning your meals. If you know what you're going to eat ahead of time, it's a great way to make sure you hit your daily intake.
    Remember other foods you eat during the day will have protein and I do include that in my overall intake so make sure to track for the best results

    So calories are some white not important. What’s really important is it protein requirements for your lean body weight. Because obviously fat doesn’t really have any protein requirements. Neither does bone. But muscle ligaments and other aspects do. Also, age plays a factor into protein absorption so you might have to eat more if you are older. You also wanna have a decent amount of fat in your diet for hormone healthy. So really carbs and excess fats is what you want to increase or decrease depending upon for you are looking to lose weight or gain weight.

    Great suggestions! 😊 i am eating 1350 calories daily. I don't find it that difficult to get my protein. I am not eating 3 full meals a day, and have no desire to. Eat some meat people! 😊 I have a protein shake in the morning, use part as creamer for my coffee. So i start the day at 30 grams of protein. 🎉

      Drinking water is important. There's a reason you see those body builder guys walking around with big jugs of water. Checking urine output for clarity and not cloudy to make sure you aren't dehydrated is also a way for you to monitor yourself since every body is different don't just go by the 8 glasses rule it's inaccurate, most people just aren't getting enough water to flush their kidneys. Even if they aren't working out or trying to hit protein goals.

    What should my other macros be in proportion to high protein for losing body fat? For example I weigh 180, am female, so aiming for that 150g of protein to start with since I get full very quickly is gonna be interesting for me.
    I’ve never done a high protein diet/lifestyle before.
    Do I need to stay under a certain amount of carbs and fat or can I just focus on protein and not worry about the others?
    I’ve been eating healthy and working out for almost 3 months and the scale is not budging but I can see that I’ve lost a little belly fat so I think I’m not getting enough protein at around 90-95g per day.My starting weight was 185 so I’ve only lost 7 lbs so far and can’t seem to break 178. I keep teetering on that 178-180 mark.
    Anyone’s advice and/or opinions appreciated!
    I’ve been doing research but I like to hear from others’ experience.

  • @bigben9676
    @bigben9676 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The body can only process about 25g of protein at a time, so you need to space it out.

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      While you may use 20-30 grams for muscle building at one time you can digest and utilize up to 70 grams easily in a meal. Meal timing, age, other macros consumed at the same time, metabolism, calorie intake all can impact how much you need/utilize at that time. And as long as you hit your macros for the day and need the calories you will use what you consume!

While I understand this would be hard on my digestive system, it's just works for me. However I keep finding statements like the one above, where the claim "the body can only absorb 25g at a time, the rest is wasted" could you help me understand what is true or if that's just a myth?
