Thanks Jay, for the big shout out to my little BattleCastings company! Very kind, sir. I sold out of all my kits, chatted to loads of Oldhammer enthusiasts, enjoyed meeting you, and talking old school!! had a great weekend. Now restocking the webstore!
Wow dude. It makes sense why you sold out keep doing what your doing man that’s some of the coolest 3rd party stuff I’ve ever seen. I’m a sucker for old epic knights and titans. Saving your site to my desktop hope you restock soon 😂
The joke is so lame that it is kinda funny. One needs the lamest of jokes to make it actually funny and have a laught track with it to make it hilarious. For example check out South Parks bit about Americas Funniest Home Videos where they made that same joke in the way I described.
I love how genuine and self aware Jay is. Just a very cool guy with zero pretense. I don’t war game, or paint miniatures, or “hobby” in any way, but I do watch EOB videos regularly. Awesome stuff…very entertaining.
You know what would be a great use for something in your collection for don't look back? Those Mars attacks minis! They would be great for a session of don't look back!
Fun fact: This year's venue is the same venue where Dashcon was held. There is even a picture overlaying the game tables with that photo of a ball pit in the middle of the empty venue.
As someone that has only been a part of Warhammer for the past year, I had no idea that it was in Schaumburg as an Illinois local. It was very easy for me to go all three days and I had one of the best experiences I’ve had in the past couple years. Everybody was super nice, everybody was super informative by far the best hobby community I have ever been lucky enough to be a part of thank you everyone that was there and I hope to see everyone next year
I'd say crack on with Don't Look Back! Love to see your take on the scooby gang. Also, the UK firm, Crooked Dice also sell their own version of several classic Scooby Doo villains under the name "spooks" and they also do gremlins (including Gizmo) under the name "gribblies" they're made in white metal and are all 28mm scale. They also cover a lot of other TV, uhhh, inspirations shall we say. Like a certain female vampire slayer or red uniform wearing lizard aliens from a mini-series.
black site has some fun stuff , i have the grimchester brothers "winchestr" and baby, dont look back there newer japanese horror game and a few other things from them and i am going to get there drive in theater terrain
Making me feel old calling that Ork Trukk retro. You think theyre skinny but the rules with that Trukk in Gorkamorka was it could only carry as many models that could physically fit on the flatbed part and if any fell off during movement they took a serious hit. You ended up with carefully balanced pyramids of Orks squeezed onto that thing.
Hey, Jay! I happened to run into you, Nick, Uncle Adam, Vince Venturella, and Scott the Miniature Maniac all standing together in an event room at Adepticon. You looked absolutely exhausted so I didn't want to bother you, but it was really neat just seeing so many of my favorite miniature TH-camrs together in real life.
"Ive got the dice" should be a signature sentence of this channel after that smile. The joy in your face kinda represents what you're doing here. 😊😊😊Awesome work man. When the rest of us have a slump and feel deflated about our miniature efforts, you carry the torch tirelessly and get us out of it. Don't know how you do it. 💪💪💪
Hey Jay! It was super great meeting you at the show! Thanks for the awesome shoutout at 08:23 and again at 17:40! Really looking forward to seeing how you paint them up. Thanks again for stopping by the booth for a chat. Hope to see you next year. Patrick
That Ork vehicle is in fact the original Trukk, debuting in a classic game called 'GorkaMorka. It would've been right up your alley as it was mobs of Orks marooned on a desert world (that was in fact, a Necron tomb world) fighting each other with their vehicles and collecting piles of scrap so they could rebuild their Space Hulk and get off the planet. You had to make sure your mob had enough vehicles to transport everyone and that Trukk was a very popular choice. Oh, and you had to physically place your models on the vehicles! A video about that Don't Look Back game would be nice to see.
Jay, the plushy is a ref called "Bear'ly Together", an alt version of the ref "Stitched Together" from the Nightmare keyword :) The "Stitched Together" are also a strong reference to HoogeyBoogey from Jack's Christmas, btw ;)
FYI for my other fantasy people, this video made me curious so I looked and YES anarchy models also have some stencils that would work for fantasy. Diamond pattern for tabards and dragon scales.
He said the "W" word!!! 4 TIMES! Adepticon was great this year! Love seeing everyone's hauls. I also got that exact hex stencil last year and it worked out great on some battletech!
I'd love to see your take on those War Scenery turrets! I've got a handful of their stuff printed out for Star Wars Legion but haven't started painting them yet and would love to see your process. :)
I got super lucky and got almost the whole arena rex line in a lot, mostly unbuilt. I have now built them all and played a game on that mat. I love the game and it only took a short time to get the rules. Love the models
I'm positively surprised to see Aerna Rex still going strong. I missed jumping on when it came out, but I loved how they changed things up.l and the scale.
Man I love that you picked up Don't Look Back. I am so excited to see more exposure for DLB. The BSS crew deserve nothing but the best - just an awesome group of people. We've played the game dozens of times over the years and it's never disappointed. Looking forward to seeing some more content around the game!
Seriously, id LOVE to see The Meddling Kids, the treelady, the puppet master and ALL the stuff you have in mind for Don't Look Back! I have the base set, The Meddling Kids, and a few other BSS models and I would love to see what you do with it! Please and thank you!
It was a design feature I really wanted. The casting man was annoyed, as it made a clean cast harder, but worth it, I reckon. Just looks meaner, and more brutal!
The Malifaux plushie is a bear-ly together, which is an alt model for the stitched together Super cool getting to chat with you at adepticon, glad you had a blast! I think its my favorite con now
You got a bunch of good stuff but I am particularly pumped about that garage kit Land Raider that's badass stuff. Ps take a drink everytime Jay says "random-ass"
As someone new to the hobby its really cool seeing you talk about things outside of GW news. I'd welcome more non-gw material like painting the don't look back stuff.
So glad you shared your haul. I am a huge fan of Don't Look Back, and really do hope you make some videos of it. Thanks for sharing. I am not a fan of 40k but look forward to seeing your work on other games in the future.
Always been interested in Arena Rex, but have struggled to find it available in the UK, so would love to see what you do for that, plus who can resist the idea of episodes of horror tales with Don't look back 😀👻
You should come up with a real world ID for the tree lady and the pirate king when scooby doo and your friends unmask them at the end of don’t look back. Creepy tree lady was old lady smith all along!! Also I have no idea how don’t look back works! Good luck!!! Put it all in a video. Thanks gents!! Fantastic as always!!!
I know of gremlin miniatures, look up “Crooked Dice” , they call them “Gribblies” , they have 2 different sets of them. Hopefully you see this because you’ll love the minis
Love that Ork Buggy/tuck thing. I have a few myself, and would love to find a way to replace the driver and gunner with more modern orks as the ones in the vehicle are so small. I use some of them as mobile rocketlauncers for the Grot rockets that Forgeworld sold many years ago.
I have 2 old drop pod garage kits that I've had for almost 2 decades, modelled after the old FW drop pods from the 90s. Its so sparse looking compared to the new plastic ones, but I love em regardless.
I love Don't Look Back. I can't wait to see what you do with it. I'm currently working on my cabin in the woods board, based on Evil Dead, for this game.
I'd love to see you pick up on Gorkamorka! I recently got back into the hobby after 25 years and still have my gorka box set, now buried in a fresh mountain of plastic crack. That ork truck is iconic ❤
Gorkamorka gangs are a nice change of pace - a half dozen or so models and a small vehicle or two, and go ham stylistically. I should probably do something with the load I've had lying about since the GW Summer Sale... over 20 years ago.
A little surprised you didn't pick up any paint or the convention exclusive miniatures, especially as you had some Bombshell stuff. They had five separate minis that were con exclusives. And man, I was there on two different days and had to park illegally both days. Not sure where the convention could go that would still be easily accessible but I hope it doesn't move too far.
I saw the thumbnail and skipped through in thumbnail view for spoilers, then when I came back to watch the video later: I hit it and Jay just said, "Booty." and it went right to commercial hahaha
Dude I half considered getting that exact Ork Buggie, I thought it was both too good a deal to pass up, and too hilariously small to proxy as an ork Trukk!
Alright I'm sold, I'm going to Adepticon next year. Gonna be an expensive trip just getting there, but when you said "bins and bins of miniatures" my heart started racing. Must. Partake.
Majestic 13 is great. I still haven't bought anything custom for it, so I started using some Kriegsmen from my Kill Team and have slowly been swapping in Space Marines as I build/buy power armor. I like it enough that I do plan to build some bespoke squads for it though. It really does feel like XCOM on the tabletop.
Great haul, would love a vid on you designing the Dont Look Back module for the Scooby gang and puppet master, and the scene you go about making for it
I think I have a Gorkamorka box that's nearly complete and features models assembled and painted nearly 30 years ago by me. I'd happily contribute to the oldhammer cause
PLEASE take a look at the upcoming Halo: Flashpoint game! It’s going to be based off the Dead Zone ruleset, but with a Halo flair. They just put up a preorder with a launch date of this fall.
Nice of you to lessen the drop as I reenter reality from a good weekend. That's an impressive haul. I have always liked Arena Rex but never dove in. Love Bombshell Minis, their Malee character was one of the first minis I bought with the intention of painting it better than a HeroClix figure.
After watching your video snagged Don't Look Back book and expansion. Very excited to play and son is all in! Curious to see what you do with terrain for it. I'm relatively new to tabletop gaming and having trouble deciding on trees and scatter terrain approach. Also some of Black site studios mdf buildings look sweet, cabin, pizza joint, and ice cream shop. Look forward to seeing what you do with it! Like where's the video already haha!
makes me feel old as i grow up with what people called old hammer, used to love goblins in normal Warhammer but all so loved the Man O' War all the ships looked so cool but never played it as it was dead by the time i found it :(
ACKTCHUALLY, The measuring stick for Don't Look Back is a Chef's knife. A butcher knife would be more rectangular. In a more serious comment, it's a shame you didn't get out to try Wyrd's other wargame in the Malifaux Universe: The Other Side. My friends and I got to play/observe a normal game, as well as all play in the "Against The Odds" scenario game. It was so much fun! Halfway through the second demo game, I looked at them and said "Just to confirm, we're all going to the Wyrd booth to buy starter sets for this game, right?". I'm already testing paint schemes for my Abyssinia (Wakanda-style african future-tech nation) army.
There's a Blood Bowl team that has a sheet ghost. I think the ork buggy is from Gorkamorka. The one I'd love to find is the old 2nd ed. Ork Battlewagon. There used to be a rule that you could put as many orks on it as you wanted but as it moved, if the models fell off, they fell off in game. So orky, I love it. For future videos, I'd love to see a playthrough of the Scooby Doo team horror game, it looks interesting, almost like a Dead by Daylight boardgame.
YOOO FREEDBLADES!!! I was introduced to it last year and I love that game. Even though you only got one model its so cool that you got something from them. The people a DGS games are super cool and really welcoming
Thanks Jay, for the big shout out to my little BattleCastings company! Very kind, sir. I sold out of all my kits, chatted to loads of Oldhammer enthusiasts, enjoyed meeting you, and talking old school!! had a great weekend. Now restocking the webstore!

@@L3GHO5T thank you sir! I’m restocking as we speak. Probably a couple weeks.
The pause on "boy are my arms tired" feels like comedy genius but I cannot explain why, I rewinded for that just to see if I was losing it, twice

Google "sheet ghost miniature" I just saw a pretty good selection online.

The warhammer fantasy discord calls it "The Pile of Potential" and that is way better than Shame!
I call it the Pile of Opportunity.
Making me feel old calling that Ork Trukk retro. Alright I'm sold, I'm going to Adepticon next year. Gonna be an expensive trip just getting there, but when you said "bins and bins of miniatures" my heart started racing. Must. Partake.
OLD LAND RAIDER. I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE YOU PAINT IT UP
Majestic 13 is great.
I still haven't bought anything custom for it, so I started using some Kriegsmen from my Kill Team and have slowly been swapping in Space Marines as I build/buy power armor.
I like it enough that I do plan to build some bespoke squads for it though. It really does feel like XCOM on the tabletop.
I saw you there on Friday at the open gaming tables!
There only two bigger Vanues in Chicago.
Rosemount Convention center..
and McCormick center in down town.
Each means a increasing cost and tickets.
Great haul, would love a vid on you designing the Dont Look Back module for the Scooby gang and puppet master, and the scene you go about making for it
The perfect ghost for your scooby-dooish gang: Mr Swither by Statuesque Miniatures!
Your old school orks and truck would make a great base for a GorkaMorka gang. Just add some of the old half tracks, and bikes and your there.
I think I have a Gorkamorka box that's nearly complete and features models assembled and painted nearly 30 years ago by me. I'd happily contribute to the oldhammer cause
