I haven’t actually read the broken code or squirrelflight's hope but heard lots of spoilers about it and bramble getting possessed or something-

@@ecodeer8587 Only reason ashfur was aggressive was because of SquirrelFlight's decisions. If they ended up together no problem they wouldn't be in a bad relationship, Ashfur is sweet and loving but obsessive, he's also overprotective. Although Squirrelflight might not want him to always hold her back, he would be a better option than BrambleStar.

@@chaoticcow4357 yeah, Ashfur gave into his jealousy is the reason why. The problem with jealousy is it can make you do things that deep down you know you don't want to do, and regret then but don't show it.
@@chaoticcow4357 although Ashfur’s character has changed a LOT throughout the years and books, he still would not be a good option for her. The fact that he followed through with all of his actions, going as far as to murder his own leader and clanmates, as well as emotionally and physically abuse Squirrelflight in the most recent books is horrifying. There’s no way to say for sure if their relationship would be healthy or not, but what if they got into an argument? Squirrelflight proves time and time again that she is a strong character and speaks her mind, and in The Broken Code, Ashfur despises her speaking back to him. Who’s to say that that won’t happen if they were to fight before all the horrible events? It’s said in one of the Guides, that Ashfur is trying to contain her fire, which is something Squirrelflight doesn’t need. Ashfur is just not good for her, and neither is Bramblestar! I have my own personal opinions on her relationships and how the writing team should treat her character. But! I get where your coming from and I respect that, but it still would not be a good relationship yknow?
It's so interesting to see all this new content of Squirrelflight and Bramblestar's relationship, now that everyone's come to that realization, and it's crazy to think that wouldn't have happened without Moonkitti's video

I love how Moonkitti and Bright Guardian Akira made videos like “Bramblestar is abusive and we can prove why” and now the whole fandom is like “wait crap they’re right” and I’m not complaining because I stan Squirrelflight

@@ZamaDraws Brambleclaw was definitely better before the kits issue, but he really was toxic from the start. The outright abuse started after Hollyleaf gave her little speech, but Bramble never took Squirrelflight seriously to the point of gaslighting her with the Hawkfrost drama
@@Storm-gh9bx Defending the abuse - I like Bramble as a character because I think it's an interesting way for the authors to implement darker themes like abuse and toxicity in relationships. He also had a lot of development leading up to his more serious outbursts and actions. People who defend his behavior towards Squirrelflight, however, I believe are no better than those who defend Ashfur.
All I wanna say is that if you're THIS TALENTED at THIRTEEN, I cant even imagine how good you'll be once you're older.

I love how this recognized how much he changed when he became a leader. Power really does make people crazy I guess. Possessed or not, leadership RUINED his personality, he was fine in the New Prophecy but that character ark should have STAYED OVER. Lionblaze or Brackenfur should have been the leader after’s Firestar’s death. I love this animation so much. ✨
I’ll be honest it’s like someone did not want them to get together or want him to be leader (not Kate Kary But she has like zero control even though she’s the only Author on the team which is sad) so Whenever he’s involved they actively edit it as badly as they can to sabotage it

@@humanbeeing4780 it’s more than that, pal. First of all, Starclan gaslighted, and lied to Squirrelflight into agreeing with this plan, so it’s not her fault. Then, Brambleclaw would always get upset at Squirrelflight even before they had kits simply because she didn’t want him hanging out with Hawkfrost. Then there’s that scene in Squirrelflight’s Hope when she’s trying to help a pregnant kitty pet and Bramblestar completely blows up on her.

Squirrelflight has absolutely without a doubt become my favorite character, and I’m so glad more people are making videos about how abusive Bramblestar is and has always been. They used to have a good relationship for a while, then the Erins decided to make him a bad guy for what... conflict?

I love how everyone blames Squirrelflight's lying on the way Brambleclaw treats her, but no one remembers how Brambleclaw mostly didn't listen to Squirrelflight, like when she warned him about Hawkfrost and he's like "Nah, he's my bro" and just ignores anything she says about him and thinks her suspicions about Hawkfrost are solely based on Tigerstar being Hawkfrost's father, and countless other times he didn't take her seriously. And then people suddenly expect that Squirrelflight would be able to trust Brambleclaw enough for him to keep the secret of the kits being actually from Leafpool and love them as if they were his own even with that fact. God, yall are weird af.

She had no valid proof other than the fact of his heritage, which is incredibly gross and prejudiced because this excuse could also work for Brambleclaw and his other siblings. Her suspicions were purely built up on the fact that she's upset that IF Bramble and Hawk form a bond and she could come second to Brmabke. The irony, considering bramble isn't her first and leafpool is She guilt-trips him by saying, "I can see where I stand in your life. I'm not as important to you as some cats-as Hawkfrost is". This cry solidifies that her suspicions are solely built on jealousy. He refused to listen to her because she straight-up harassed him over the matter. Hawkfrost was obviously evil, but that was only made clear to the readers, not the characters. She was also being an extremely massive hypocrite about it. She herself has a strong bond with her sister but does not want to bramble to have the same.
Sucks how they had such a cute relationship going on when they were first moving to the new forest, now it's just sad to see how Bramble turned out.

Does anyone else feel like the whole thing of Ashfur possessing Bramble to manipulate Squilf kinda feels like a way of the authors trying to distract from bramble's abuse in Squilf's Hope? I just find it... bizarre how possessed Bramble's act of throwing her off the leader rock is treated as this horrible thing Bramble would never do, when in her super edition, Squilf is constantly gas lit and invalidated by the real Bramble? This is kinda difficult for me to explain, but it just angers me that Bramble is never fully called out for his awful behavior and Squilf's suffering is barely acknowledged throughout the series, but Ashfur is (validly) posed as the complete villain of the Broken Code because his abusive motivations also effected the clans directly. It's disgusting that the Erins turn a blind eye Bramble's abusive tendencies and keep Squilf in a cycle of misery.
I think its so interesting that a actual very liked character and actual PROTAGONIST, was (unintentionally) made abusive, like.. sure we have all the "bad moms and such", but actual bad relationships and dads? Is just like seeing a blue coloured animal.. it doesn't occur often

ashfur trapped starclan in the dark forest so it's harder to maintain contact with starclan so when bramblestar lost a life- ashfur kinda called dibs on his body and chucked his spirit in a thorn cage after bramblestar's attemps to make contact with Shadowsight (Tigerheart/tigerstar's son) and Tree and rootspring who can see spirits.
also ashfur is like torturing a bunch of cats that died during the winter with out starclan so the spirits were stuck in the forest because starclan is blocked.
when everyone found out they planned to kill bramblestar's body but squirrel was hesitant and when squirrel finally agreed, squirrel and only a few other cats found ashfur in the form of ashfur waiting at the moonpool saying how he'd done all this for her because he'd always loved her and that he will give her one more chance to surrender.
squirrel obviously resisted so EPIC BATTLESCENE!!!

The moment it is revealed he isnt the father of jayfeather, Hollyleaf and Lionblaze is where he becomes kind of like his father. I was a person to like Brambleclaw in the books as a kid but never saw what had happened to him makes me sad. Moonkitti cleared up a lot more of this in her video and i actually started up Bramblestar's storm but never finished it.
