I don't believe the conflicts in that show operated with a subplot of the week. Most of the top quality shows( in animation and especially anime) that came out in the 90s actually focused on the interpersonal relationships of their characters.
To be fair, it is hard to understand how they didn't kill one another, particularly Wolverine and Gambit, Wolverine and Cyclops, Wolverine and Rogue, Wolverine and everyone else.
This inadvertently puts on display Cyclops' leadership ability. It's easier to be leader of a team like The Avengers that's universally loved and appreciated and most everyone in the team get's along. Trying to lead a team full of very different attitudes and people, sometimes even adolescents that are all universally hated or feared. That takes a lot more.
Not really, he blasts away the exploding brick, and briefly yells at Gambit, but then he just stands there silently as the fight escalates. I kept thinking that he was going to step in and show some leadership, but he never did. Rogue did more to break up their fight, and then she threatened to punch Wolverine, herself.
Apparently Xavier left them with very strict instructions for rebuilding the mansion: ONLY Wolverine is allowed to wear street clothes while performing manual labor. At the end of the clip he was checking in to make sure everyone else was in full costume.
Well, Wolverine's costume is his previous costume back when he was forced to a part of Canadian special task force so no wonder it is not the most comfortable clothing for him.

@@victorkenarsy3024 Maybe in the long haul but none of them needed help with their immediate tasks, especially Jean. Wolverine offering to put nails in was likely a way to impress her and it failed miserably.
Wow... Did someone actually take the time to put all that thought into such a phony psychology garbage AND then put it into words..? LOL. First of all, there was no one there who needed help. The situation there was not one of such a nature where anyone needed any help... So if the premise of this pseudo-psychoanalysis is fake, everything else is. The last thing anyone can say about Wolverine is that he had a "bully personality"... A strong, assertive, extrovert personality, yeah. But not bully. Unless that someone is incredibly stupid and tries to look smart by severely overthinking a fairly simple situation... Sabretooth, that one was a bully, he had a bully personality, and Wolverine was the opposite of Sabretooth.
But here's my take on this incident. It wasn't Wolverine's fault for it, it was Gambit's. It wasn't Gambit whom Wolverine told to add some more water in that mortar, it was Storm. Which Storm actually did BTW. It was Gambit who felt the need to accuse Wolverine of wanting to be the "big man" who was "always giving orders". Even though Wolverine didn't say anything to him. And that is classical insecure narcissistic behavior. It is usually the very insecure, envious personalities that are the first to accuse others of wanting to be "the big man"... It was Gambit who felt inadequate there in the sense that he felt threatened by Wolverine. Which is a clear sign of insecurity. So he attacked Wolverine, verbally and Wolverine reacted to it which is very natural, especially for Wolverine who is very aggressive by nature. The incident was started by Gambit not by Wolverine. But here's the thing and this is something that also illustrates the major changes in the society since then especially with regards to interhuman interactions. Right after Rogue separated them and told Wolverine to shut it otherwise she would "help" him LOL, Jubilee came along and told everybody that the professor contacted them and everybody went together inside and it was like the incident never even happened. He projects this feeling of uselessness onto Gambit by calling him useless and that's what causes the fight. This is a mentality a lot of bullies have- they get frustrated with their own problems and lack of abilities and then try to make others feel similar negative emotions..."
Wolverine had beef with Gambit because he liked him. Wolverine doesn't like to admit it. Gambit was easily likable but not always trustworthy. Wolverine and Gambit, deep down are friends. Both are rogues, loners with dark pasts that deal with their problems differently. Gambit, an ex-thief and member of a gang (thieves GUILD if you will) that had street-smarts. Wolverine, ex-military and a woodland survivalist. Both had trust issues, both were dangerous to mess with. Both were willing to fight pretty easily. Gambit hid his darker side with his humor, charm and easy-going nature but he'd fight at a drop of a hat, he dealt with leadership often with dismissive humor. Wolverine hid his kinder side with a tough-guy, growling attitude and military behavior. He was willing to fight but to the few he considered friends, he'd go down fighting. The parts were their friendship was shown without being spoken: 1. Wolverine joins the group in "Night of the Sentinels". Gambit smirks at him and says "So you gonna join us, eh?" Wolverine just says "Yeah" with a What-are-you-gonna-do-about-it tone. Gambit knows Wolverine is really there because he has their back but Wolvie just wants to act like he isn't close. 2. After Cyclops leaves Morph behind, Wolvie and Cyke very nearly fight in the hanger of the X-Mansion. When Jean Grey informs them Beast is still alive and Wolverine worriedly says "But what about Morph?", Jean breaks down into tears. Wolverine is obviously torn up. It's GAMBIT that walks over and puts a comforting hand on Wolverine's shoulder and tells him "He's gon', mon ami." Wolverine jerks his shoulder away... because he doesn't like the vulnerability of being comforted. Gambit was the one to comfort Wolverine. 3. In Days of Future Past, Wolvie showed distrust to Gambit, but also to Bishop. But when Bishop and Gambit were playing poker, Gambit lost his temper at being called an "assassin" by Bishop again and finally threw a charged playing card at Bishop. Bishop absorbed the energy and boasted about his mutant about while charging to fire at Gambit. Wolverine warns him "I think he's fixin' to RAISE ya." After Bishop fires and misses, Wolverine popped his claws in Bishops face and said "You want to try absorbing THESE?!" But while he gave warning about "Cards not being the only thing to get CUT around here", it was only Bishop that he threatened directly. Wolverine also volunteered to stay behind to watch Bishop and Gambit so they wouldn't fight. 4. In the episode where they rescue Senator Kelly, Wolverine and Gambit are underground when Wolverine tells them to stop and Gambit jokes "What, you scared?" Wolverine said "I smell...Sentinels!" right before dozens of Sentinel eyes activated in the dark. Wolverine grabbed Gambit as they headed to the door and Wolverine yelled "GET OUTTA HERE CAJUN!" and threw Gambit out the door, then slammed and locked the door behind. In short, Wolverine was going to stand and fight to the end, live or die, to make sure Gambit got away alive. Basically risking his life to make sure Gambit was okay. Gambit pounded on the door, shouting "WOLVERINE!" and when he heard Wolverine fighting for his life, taking down Sentinels. Gambit refused to leave Wolverine behind and blasted the door, then the two fought together. 5. At the end, Wolverine and Gambit stood over a pile of destroyed Sentinels. Wolverine looks at Gambit and says "Do yourself a favor Cajun: Next time I try to save yer sorry life, have the good sense to let me." Gambit recognized Wolverine is his friend but he hates to admit it, so he just smirks at Wolverine and says "What make you t'ink dere gonna BE a next time?" 6. In the episode where we learn about Gambit's past, Gambit gave himself to the Assassins' Guild in exchange for his brother (in the Thieves Guild) to go free, Gambit's brother returned to a broken down house. Wolverine was one of the X-Men that volunteered to find Gambit. In that house, when the thieves were beaten but Gambit's brother sneered and mentioned that Gambit exchanged himself for him, Wolverine charged forward in a rage, snarling, " Gambit ain't a piece of meat for ANYBODY to trade with!" then grabbed him and slammed the thief against the wall. Then Wolverine popped two claws, one on other side of the thief's face and growled in a mocking Cajun accent " SOMETIMES deh claw slip... tell us where 'Remy' is and it won't." 7. In that same Episode, when Wolverine saw that Gambit was in a forced "Marriage" to his former love in the Assassin's Guild, Wolverine didn't care about fighting the assassin's, he charged right over to Gambit (Seeing that the ring Gambit had stopped his powers and allowed his "wife" to hurt him with energy shocks) and said "Lemme see that ring, gumbo!" WOlverine popped a single claw as he tried to put it to the ring and said "You ain't the marryin' kind." He got shocked for it. Then he sneak attacked the "wife" and nearly got her before being blasted int he air. Jean slowed his fall and said unless they stopped the situation, every thief would die. Wolverine made it clear "I don't care what witch ladies wanna do what to which Cajuns, I'M here to stop a weddin'!" (Translation: Screw the Thieves Guild, Screw the Assassins' Guild, I just want Gambit saved). Pretty obvious these two were friends and liked each other. Wolverine just doesn't handle it well so he acts gruff.
Don't forget about the Out of the Past episodes where Gambit helps out Wolverine on his settling with Yuriko and fighting off Yuriko's gang, and the Spirit Drinker monster. Also the Dark Phoenix saga after when Gambit gets thrown into the pond by Rogue, Wolverine gave sympathetic advice to him to not make the girls mad.
@@azraelknightquest5754 Logan is a loyal team member but does not like Gambit.Or Cyclops. The only other male on the team he liked was Morph, and he respected Beast and Charles.
So we are just ignoring how Logan is using his claw as a cement trowel, and even though he has a healing factor and adamantium is unbreakable he’s still disregarded safety and would have to wipe off his blades or beat them together to get the mortar off them before it hardens.
I love the rivalry between these two. Logan gives the Cajun a hard time for multiple reasons but when it comes down to it he'd lay his life on the line for him cos he's an X-Man. This group, and how they relate to each other, are very special. *_Still_* something we haven't had on the big screen yet.
The Fox movies had terrible vision and bad writing. They evidently thought Wolverine and Gambit were too close in personality (as in two characters who are the “take it or leave it” types). That’s just bad writing if they couldn’t build around that. That’s a built-in rivalry because these characters are very different.
Leonardo Braynen Did you not see the part where Rogue threatened to shut his mouth FOR him? You're right. I don't think Gambit can beat him but Wolverine is terribly overrated.
Almost all of the X-men are actually a very bad matchup for Wolverine, as long as they keep their distance. He excels at beating street level thugs, but here he's surrounded by alpha and omega mutants
Wolverine always talking reckless shit to Gambit and Cyclops like he has the best powers but every other person the team has better abilities than him.
Gambit is Cajun (from Acadian meaning a group of French Canadians from the present-day Maritime Provinces who were deported by the English to Louisiana). This is probably one of the reasons Anglophone (English-speakers like Logan) and Francophone Canadians don't always get along.
Typical Wolverine, starting shit for no reason and making slick comments. Gambit retaliates, as he should. Then Wolverine wants to get all pissy and shit, throwing a fit. Like "bruh, you started the shit first." Gambit should've whooped his ass.
Even as I kid when I watched this cartoon I couldn’t understand why they drew those claw covers on his hands I guess the animators didn’t know or read comics
Logan is probably the weakest of them all when it comes to energy output and strength. I can see him beating Beast and Morph, tops. Almost anyone else would win in a long distance fight
Gambit has beaten Wolverine in the comics before. He once kept focusing energy on Wolverines adamantim bones, torturing Wolverine with numerous mini explosions in his body.
Oh god please let the FOX deal go through so that the MCU can finally introduce Gambit properly...what FOX failed to do. PS the Gambit in Wolverine X-men Origins doesn't count 😑

Wolverine looks at Gambit and says "Do yourself a favor Cajun: Next time I try to save yer sorry life, have the good sense to let me." Gambit recognized Wolverine is his friend but he hates to admit it, so he just smirks at Wolverine and says "What make you t'ink dere gonna BE a next time?"
6. Then Wolverine popped two claws, one on other side of the thief's face and growled in a mocking Cajun accent " SOMETIMES deh claw slip... tell us where 'Remy' is and it won't."
I always thought you had a soft spot for that Cage In (pun intended)
"That was soft as you, fathead! you gonna shut up,or am I have to help you?!"😡😡😡😡
Imagine if these mutants applied work for construction, they gonna finish building a skyscraper in 1 hour or less.
So we are just ignoring how Logan is using his claw as a cement trowel, and even though he has a healing factor and adamantium is unbreakable he’s still disregarded safety and would have to wipe off his blades or beat them together to get the mortar off them before it hardens.
As a bricklayer apprentice I really felt that scene 😂
I love the rivalry between these two.
Logan gives the Cajun a hard time for multiple reasons but when it comes down to it he'd lay his life on the line for him cos he's an X-Man.
This group, and how they relate to each other, are very special.
*_Still_* something we haven't had on the big screen yet.
The Fox movies had terrible vision and bad writing. They evidently thought Wolverine and Gambit were too close in personality (as in two characters who are the “take it or leave it” types). That’s just bad writing if they couldn’t build around that. That’s a built-in rivalry because these characters are very different.
Wolverine.. Old School Dude !!!
Poor Logan just wanted to help
About the most useful thing Jean had done in the series pre-Phoenix force
Wow, that was some tough words at the end there. Wish Rogue had tossed Wolverine a few hundred feet.
Why did you have to give me this mental picture 😂😢
The good ole days
Wolverine is the only one kinda dressed for construction lol
"Whaaaa, look out!" *runs away* lmao 😂
Rico Mendez LOL!! Good point, Wolvy was very wimpy there.
(Cyclops uses his optic blast on brick and explodes) cyclops:"gambit! What do you think your doing?"
1:00 I would agree with Gambit: never try to be a bigmouth and watch what you say.
What a strong independent woman, that Rogue. Truly a rolemodel
Well it helps that she is literally much stronger than all of them.
@@blueblur2273
She's stronger than Beast, Jubilee, Wolverine, & Gambit. The rest is debatable.
lol wolverine is smiling 00:38
Very rare sight on the show, not to mention his helpful tone of voice.
He was smiling cause he thought Storm was fine asf 😂
Wolverine was about to get his clock cleaned.
Tony Collins lol, from who dude- Gambit??! Pfft, please!
Dont get me wrong, Gambits a badass in his own right but he'n on Logan's level
Leonardo Braynen Did you not see the part where Rogue threatened to shut his mouth FOR him? You're right. I don't think Gambit can beat him but Wolverine is terribly overrated.
Tony Collins probly why i love Wolverine and Batman so much is because they're overated but at least they can back it up lol
Almost all of the X-men are actually a very bad matchup for Wolverine, as long as they keep their distance. He excels at beating street level thugs, but here he's surrounded by alpha and omega mutants
Logan couldn't do anything but ruin the wood with his claws so he just started telling gambit he sucks
*"You better stop worryin' about my mouth and start worryin' about these!"*
Why does this sound like the start of a Porno???
You watch too much that's why
THIS is my Rogue.
Now we have Gambit riding Wolverine and charging up his claws.
And a nonbinary Morph and female Cyclops and Wolverine
@@KRN02_92 Literally delusional, I can't imagine how shit your life is if childrens cartoons cause you such strife
The thing is, this is before Gambit can charge organic stuff...so at this point he could've charged Logan's bones and claws.
"Man been a pain since the get go, chére."
Cage fail. Gambit can easily walk in between those bars. lol.
Yep
Jevangood It’s more like shock factor, when someone drops a thousand pound cappola on your head.
It was a good aim actually. What if the lid hit gambit lol
Wolverine is an amazing character
Why was wolverine the only one in civilian attire, while everyone else had their military uniform on ?
Did Cyclops just defend Wolverine?
1:03-1:09 Shit just got real son💯 BEST X MEN CARTOON EVER MADE FOR REAL!💯
0:19 damn Logan's claw is long as hell lol
At least Gambit stood up for himself. Wolverine was being a bully, I can't stand bullies.
When Wolverine bullies you, you either shut up and get bullied or get sliced.
If I was Magneto, I'd make him extract his claws and punch himself in the groined.
This is the real Wolverine. Hugh Jackman was too tame. Wolverine was often nasty to his teammates.
@@mahasohona966 lol Wolverine never sliced anyone on this show thanks to American Censorship.
@@yokiryuchan7655 He sliced few Sentinels as I remember, no blood and gore sadly lol.
0:55 why running, did you forget you have a healing ability
It still hurts
And ruin that sweet Canadian jacket? No thanks
Wolverine the classroom showoff lol. I'd get agitated too if im gambit.
Gambit. Since I just don't know although i do since he's more that meets the eye
Everyone: * about to start a mutant war *
Jubilee: *HEY EVERYBODY*
Ok..Jean has a use, and its in residential trades.
The smoke was about to go down.
Gambit was a badass in the new movie.
Wolverine always talking reckless shit to Gambit and Cyclops like he has the best powers but every other person the team has better abilities than him.
Rogue would of literally folded Wolverine like a pretzel lol
Wolverine: Making up for your screw ups, Gumbo!
Gambit: (eyes glow briefly) (thinking) Oh that is pushing it!
Wolverine:"too bad you don't know how to do anything but pick pockets and steel candy from babies."
Gambit with his shinny eyes as if to say ¡ You asked for it you hairy !
They are so human...
ca294 No, they’re mutants.
@@seededsoul nope still humans with powers
Mutants are humans born with special abilities.
Honestly, I probably would have done the same. Only damage would be to Logan's clothes anyway
1:17 Wolvie is a Canadian and Gambit’s people go back to Canada (and France of course). Wolvie must hate French Canada.😂
Gambit is Cajun (from Acadian meaning a group of French Canadians from the present-day Maritime Provinces who were deported by the English to Louisiana). This is probably one of the reasons Anglophone (English-speakers like Logan) and Francophone Canadians don't always get along.
I'm not gonna lie, Jimmy was a smart ass here..I love Gambit🥰🥰 He is always Game.. With Anyone!!
Wow you used his actual name
Typical Wolverine, starting shit for no reason and making slick comments. Gambit retaliates, as he should. Then Wolverine wants to get all pissy and shit, throwing a fit. Like "bruh, you started the shit first." Gambit should've whooped his ass.
Even as a kid seeing cyclops welding that pipe bothered me 😂 , there's no heat in his optic blast
Best cartoon ever.
I like that Wolvie calls Gambit gumbo.
Wolverine kept calling Gambit "Gumbo". That always made me chuckle.
Even as I kid when I watched this cartoon I couldn’t understand why they drew those claw covers on his hands I guess the animators didn’t know or read comics
The teen has to stop the adults from fighting. Lol.
Gambit is the only X-Men willing to stand up to Wolverine. 👍
1:27--Oh thank God . . .
AWESOME clip!!!
Isn't it that Wolverine starts a fight with every x-men and loses?
Pretty much. Schinkt bub, then he's on his ass.
Logan is probably the weakest of them all when it comes to energy output and strength. I can see him beating Beast and Morph, tops. Almost anyone else would win in a long distance fight
@@JeroenZMBeast is really strong and agile so he’d do Logan like he did in the Days of Future Past movie
My money is on gambit
My money is on Wolverine. All day, any day. Gambit can throw as many explosives as he likes but once Wolverine stabs him, it's over...
Hmongboi228 Seems like an oversimplification to me but believe as you wish
Gambit has beaten Wolverine in the comics before. He once kept focusing energy on Wolverines adamantim bones, torturing Wolverine with numerous mini explosions in his body.
Oh god please let the FOX deal go through so that the MCU can finally introduce Gambit properly...what FOX failed to do.
PS the Gambit in Wolverine X-men Origins doesn't count 😑
PS the entirety of that movie doesnt count for me
I liked sabertooth in that movie
Damn you @@Top10soon for making sense! Yeah, that really was the best Sabretooth...
I agree...Just like deadpool didnt count.
Can't deny how good of a casting for Gambit was though regardless of that film
