    Excellent tutorial. Just implemented on this on some Templates we've made for our marketing department so the cany autofill information for 12 different offices and 90+ different agents. All they'll need to do is select the correct record each time they start a new piece of marketing collateral for a specific agent and it will fill from 1-28 pages depending on their document. So much easier than entering this information every single time! Thank you!

      Build your table, drop data variable fields into the table cells, and apply styles to the fields. If you want new rows to appear or disappear based on your data you’ll need to find a different variable data tool. InDesign is too basic for that type of advanced functionality.

    Hey Chad, wondering if I could do a modified, but seemingly simpler variation of this technique for what I'm trying to do. Say I have 50 unique images. I already have a very basic page layout. I just want InDesign to add the first image to a page, create another page just like it, and then insert the next image, and so on. When I'm done, I would have 50 pages, each with an image on it. Seems simple. Doable?

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes this is doable. Your spreadsheet needs to have a row for each image file path. You'll end up with a PDF with a new image on each page.

    thats utter stupidnessss bcz 1st Q is why we use overprint outline and fill ofcourse bcz during 4 color plates printing mostly chances is outlines or fill colors can slip from its poosition and overlap other things incorrectly RIGHT??? so avoid this problem this opton handy bcz when we checked enabled overprint ouline or fill checkbox on which object that options ensu8re that object should not slip its coloor from its correct position like misarrange error and placed its correct position like outlne color on there and fill on there position but u r doind weird this u just duplicating those object who have enabled that overprnt options for themselve to correct print but same time u r duplicate those object again and put them underlyng their real object with overprint fill/outline object disable??????????? why through this we can face that painful problem after printing done????? like sliping colors?? i right ???? ( u r reversing that wrong thing on behind objects to disabling these options??? @_@

    Hmmm... Maybe I'm missing something here because I've only been reviewing the DJI Transmission system for a few hours, but I think maybe you're missing the key point that might attract people to this video in the first place. The big attraction to the DJI Transmission and RS3 PRO combination is not about being able to just transmit HDMI like you showed -- being able to do that kind of goes without saying... The BIG attraction is that with the RS PRO the High-Brite monitor can actually control the gimbal and certain camera functions remotely.. Apparently the regular RS3 cannot support remote control of any kind (which you somehow didn't mention, amazingly) and I think THAT's the reason DJI says the regular RS3 is not compatible -- they mean it's not compatible with the very cool ability for remote control of the gimbal and camera like the RS3 PRO can do! I came to this video all excited thinking you were going to show me that the remote control is actually possible somehow with the RS3... so quite a let down based on the title and intro.

      Those reels are TecNec Jackreel Deluxe BNC Reel (Belden 1694A cable, 250') from B&H. URL below. We've learned that we can't use them with the Panasonic cameras we have because they require that we run 60 frames per second to get the SDI out feed. We get occasional signal drops if we try to run 250' at 60 frames per second. We use the 250" reels for are larger setups with our Blackmagic Mini Ursa cameras and we run at 30 frames per second. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1402906-REG/tecnec_mkr_1_1694a_250_jackreel_deluxe_1_channel_bnc.html

    Great video! I saw on the soundboard that you have two output cables connected that might be 1/4", but then on sling it's just a 3.5mm single input. How are they connected exactly? And you don't notice any degradation in quality by just using the unbalanced line-in? And I was wondering how the Sling was connected to the laptop? If it's via the Sling's hotspot, does that mean your laptop is running on ethernet? Since its wifi has to be used to connect to sling. Many thanks!

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We sold our Sling unit over a year ago so this is by memory. We bought an audio cable that had 3.5mm on one end and split into RCA on the other end. We then had 2 RCA to 1/4" adapters to get them into our board. You're correct that the laptop running the Sling Console had to be connected to the Sling hub wireless signal. The hub was connected to the internet via ethernet so technically the laptop can still get through to the internet via the hub connection but we never wanted to choke up the bandwidth. If we needed internet on the controlling laptop (to monitor the public stream on Facebook for example) we would have the laptop connected to ethernet.

      Just Google “photography light stand” and you’ll find a ton. We have a bunch of them laying around the studio. They are very standard although they come in different heights and are made from different materials. I’d avoid the cheapest since it’s holding up a pretty expensive piece of gear. Sorry I don’t know which particular cable you’re referring to. I don’t keep close track of where we get all our cables. We’ve accumulated them over the years go couldn’t say where we got any in particular. Many are from Amazon but we get them from monoprice and BandH as well.

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome B-RAD. It's simpler than you might think. The Streamdeck comes with its own software that has many built in button functions for various software. Mostly it's centered around gaming. One of the button functions is that it can send a keyboard key stroke. From there, all you have to do is look up the keyboard shortcuts for the Sling Studio desktop app. Set each of your Streamdeck buttons to a shortcut key and name the button based on what the shortcut key triggers and you're good to go. It's the equivalent to running your stream from your computer keyboard using shortcuts. You can also have fun editing the style and background image of the buttons but that's not required.

    Your detailed explanations and personal experience is VERY much appreciated. It's hard to find quality training like this even on TH-cam. I'm currently working on figuring out what my setup will be and wonder how I would be able to work with on screen live graphics such as titles, lower thirds, title screens, screen share, pre recorded video, etc by using the Atem mini Pro and the LiveU Solo for better bandwidth. I just bought the LiveU Solo and am considering the Atem switcher but can't see how to be able to use on screen graphics since I'm not seeing a way to use OBS studio with the LiveU Solo since I don't see an RTMP stream key option that LiveU can send to OBS. What are you using for on screen graphic control and have you incorporated the LiveU Solo into your workflow at all? Any suggestions about on screen grahpics when using the Atem into the LiveU Solo?

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're very welcome Silver Crane. I'm glad it was helpful! We have a LiveUSolo in our newsroom but we don't go mobile with it. I know it's a very popular solution for mobile streaming. Almost all our streams are on campus where we are always close to high speed ethernet ports. We stream through our AJA HELO via ethernet and it's 100% reliable. The LiveUSolo gives you the cellular bonding feature that makes your stream more reliable and "wider" when you don't have the reliable land line. I'm not sure exactly how you're trying to combine the ATEM Mini Pro, LiveU Solo, and OBS. Typically you wouldn't use all of those together. All three have the ability to stream via RTMP. I believe OBS can add graphics but it would be after you've mixed video on the ATEM which isn't ideal. I don't think the LiveU can add graphics. The best option for adding graphics is with one of your Downstream Keys. You can load graphics into the ATEM but it's a bit clunky to change them unless you set up macros to do that job. To play video you need a BM Hyperdeck. OR you can bring graphics and video in via a video source. Something like propresenter is a great option. You connect a laptop as a source with all your graphics and video and use that as your downstream key source and all your laptop graphics will sit on top of your program video feed. Honestly, this is an area we're still experimenting with and I want to learn more ways of doing it but hopefully this gives you an idea of what it might look like.

    • @chadpjackson
      @chadpjackson 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      With Sling it depended on how much interferences ran into. They are supposed to reach 300’ but we found it was more like 200’. With a big crowd of mobile devices crowding the wireless band it could quickly drop to 50’ or less. For our Blackmagic set up we’re only limited by our cable length. We use our 100’ SDI cables a lot as well as our 250’ spools. When we have to go really far we use our 1000’ fiber cables. The fiber has a booster so we can technically put a 250’ SDI cable on both ends of the fiber and get 1500’ total.

      @@Goombaybutch Unfortunately a wired connection is still the most reliable. Wireless systems tend to be less reliable due to bandwidth and interference issues. There are more expensive wireless transmission systems that claim to be more reliable. We're considering the Teradek Ace 500 for situations where a cable isn't realistic. My videographers tell me Teradek is the way to go. There are good reviews of the Hollyland Mars system. It's half the cost of Teradek but the brand isn't as well established.

They aren't built for a monitor as large as mine so it's not perfect. The locking knob and set screws are always needing adjusted and the flat part along the rail will easily bend just above the join if I'm not careful. I wouldn't consider it worth $70 but it's the only option out there that I could find. I'd love to find a better solution but it doesn't look like anyone makes it. @@mellangestudio I'm having a hard time understanding how those mid atlantic parts come together. I'm curious to see it once you have it installed. The challenge with vesa mounts is that they pivot from the center of the monitor which drops the bottom of the screen down into the flight case and out of view. Plus, they don't typically tilt enough to get it vertical. Even the Markertek mounts don't tilt as much as I want them to. They are perfect for when I stand at the console. Sitting on a stool is okay. Sitting in a chair isn't an option. Someone really needs to make a larger rack mount hinge pivot for applications like this. I'd certainly buy it. I've considered ways to manufacture it myself but haven't had the time to tinker. Plus, I don't want it to look like I made it in my garage.

      We don't have tally with these cameras unfortunately. The headset is Eartec. I direct outside the room so the camera operators know who is live.

    Great Stuff..which app are you using for lower third? Do you use capture card from the Mac pc to monitor

      I just used the Sling console graphics panel for the lower 3rd. Just drop in PNGs with transparent background and you're good to go. The PC goes directly into the HDMI input of the Sling hub. No capture card needed.

    Sling is bad, I had (2) of them and both died right before events. Vmix 4K is a good option. We use it at my church " The City Church Batavia NY " on TH-cam.

      If they are questions that others would benefit from hearing answers just post them here. If they are too specific then you can email me through the contact link on my University's website: www.cedarville.edu/offices/creative-services/contact-us

    Very cool Chad! Thanks for sharing. I just switched from my ATEM Mini Pro/Sling Studio to Vmix and have been blown away but what Vmix can do. A video cart like yours with Vmix would be really helpful.

      Thanks! Doing a software solution like Vmix run by an onboard computer would be a very similar solution to what we've got here but probably cheaper. We've just put our focus on using Blackmagic switchers so that's the direction we went with this cart.

    I just posted a walkthrough I did a few weeks ago for a conference event. Not the cleanest but you'll get a pretty good tour. I've got another event tonight that I'll do a walkthrough for. It's a high school play. th-cam.com/video/Uu6UnfNYYQ0/w-d-xo.html
