Hey super vocal i don't know what is my voice type but i have a bright and boyish timbre, i can sing d4 , e4 , f4 and g4's but when i sing mid belts they get shouty and tense , my first passiaggo is a c4 and my second passiaggo is f4 but i don't have a rich and deep voice like a baritone

I think it's very possible that Elvis Presley started off as a tenor. I am confident he was a baritone in his middle and later career, but in his early career I think he was heavily debatable.

Main reason why I'm here, just cuirous on how a baritone voice sounds 💀
As a bass singer I envy sometimes baritones. Baritones can sing very well in the upper range and they’re also powerful in the lower range. Baritone voices are balanced. This doesn’t mean that Tenors and basses are bad. Tenors have great voices too and bass singers have the most powerful low voices of all voice types.
If it makes you feel any better, Bass is the 2nd rarest male voice after the Countertenor.

I spent so much time trying to sing like a tenor and thinking I was terrible.
My range is A2-G#4 and I finally started to like my voice.
It's inspiring to hear many talented baritones.

If you absolutely bottom out at A2, there is no way you are a bartione (unless your voice is very weak)
That's cool. I think having a wide vocal range or being able to hit extremely high notes doesn't go against being a baritone.

That’s obviously not 4 octaves. If it was G2-G6, then that’s 4 octaves. But nonetheless, your range is insane. That’s 3 octaves & a 5th. Most singers don’t have that kinda usable range. I hope most of it is well developed & w/quality. Yea, you should be very proud. Coming from another potential baritone.

If you have a chest C5 that is in the range of a tenor but you may also be a baritone if your overall tesitura is in the baritone range.

Listening to these baritones, being a bass, I am kind of jealous. I can sing to B4 (down to G1), so I can cover the baritone range; just wish I had the softer timbre. John Legend is my favorite baritone, by far.

my highest belt is an Eb4 :( i can sing up to an A5 in head most of the time but i need to figure out how to unlock parts of my voice that will allow me to belt/mix higher notes with ease

Bro, what are you talking about? Bass resonance is amazing xD If I try to sing high I will sound like a baby crying, if try to sing lower I'll sound like a boy trying ro do a grown up man voice. At least your voice resonates well in all registers! XD
@@pedrovitor5324, if you learn to connect your chest range to head voice, you can sing higher than you think. I have been working on mine lately and can get to E5 and sound fine (slightly above high tenor). A bass voice can drop jaws, but you end up so limited in popular music that always wants a tenor. Unless you want to cover Elvis or Johnny Cash songs, learning to sing higher is imperative. Go listen to VoicePlay's cover of "Dream On" (just dropped today). The bass singer, Geoff Castellucci, shows a bass singer can step outside of doing only bass. He does a line where he does an F1, F#1, G1, G#1, A1, then soars to a C5, down to a C3, then resolves the run at C2.

My favorite baritone singers are Corey Taylor and frank Sinatra haha from two completely different style of music. All my others favorite singers are tenors 🤷🏾♂️

I was a tenor as a teenager, then I had a second voice drop in my 20’s. I morphed to a baritone.

When you talk about Baritones and Baritones who can sing high and is famous, you've got to mention Axl Rose and Freddie Mercury. I mean, they are considered the greatest vocalists of all time.

For me, I think he's a low/dramatic tenor. It's jeno that seems to have true baritone voice.

I’m a high baritone, in terms of timbre at least, I’d say my natural range is between D2-D5, but if I’m properly warmed up, it’s G1-A5, and with some fry, I can go to C1, and at the very top for me is B5. But yeah, being a baritone is really fun, and for all the baritones out there, you’re awesome.
I’m a Baritenor (Ab2-B4-G5-Bb5) i bottom out at a Ab2 and can sustain a B4. I can mix a G5 and full head voice get a Bb5 out
Yeah sometimes Chris Martin may have his high notes, but I would say that his range and vocal weight are that of a baritone. He may have tenor-like qualities sometimes depending on the song that he sings, but he is still a baritone. Is he like a lyric baritone perhaps?

My vocal range is F2-G4 full voice, D5/D#5 is my maximum in falsetto. Am I a tenor or a baritone?
I'm studying singing with a vocal coach for 14 months.
My voice is breathy and sweet from F2 to C3, it becomes more powerful and fuller up to F3, from G#3 and A3 it becomes lighter and brighter, from E4/F4 it becomes more shrill. G4 is a very difficult note for me that I can only hit on the best days. My falsetto in G4 and G#4 is really weak, it gets stronger between A4 and A#4.
(my range voc is from D2 to G4) but sometimes i can higher note when using head voice.
So.. Am I a baritone?
That extension you described is baritone.
Is G4 your highest chest note? If your answer is yes, then you are definitely a baritone. Tenors go beyond an A4 and deliver that note with comfort.
@@supervocal3039 No mean to give you a hard time but what you just said is not quite true. Though if it's your lowest chest note after years of training than it likely means you're a baritone, if you're a beginner singer it means you're likely a tenor. Baritones can sing G4 in chest voice, but it doesn't come immediately in most baritones it usually takes practice. I'm a baritone myself and yet I took years to sing a good G4. Even nowadays I can't do it as well as a fully-trained operatic baritone. Even back when I was younger and had a higher voice and was, in fact a tenor, didn't have a very comfortable high G. During my mid teens I struggled above E4, and during my late teens I started struggling even below that.

I don't know which type of Baritone I am. It would be of utmost convenience for me if I'd known my voice type even more. It would help me where to improve my voice first.

My voice coach told me that I'm a lyric baritone because my tones are not harsh.

Everyone. I just entered University and joined a choral group, and I was assigned with the Bass 2 role ☠️.
Now it makes sense why I can't reach the notes of my favorites songs. Huhu

Majority of songs today are sung by/ written for Sopranos and Tenors. How can a bass like me reach those heights? 😢 It makes perfect sense now why I've been struggling all my life.
My natural range is D2 to C4, so I really do fall under Bass category, particularly Bass 2. Cons aside, now I am aware that I can sing deeper notes that most people can't reach. And I also look forward to learning subharmonics, being a bass it would be much easier to access it compared to the other voice types.
@@jaidvance1376 hello! You can expand your vocal range as time goes by. The highest note I could sing when I joined a choir was also a C4, but now I am able to reach G#4 and even able to sing up to A#5 using falsetto.

Can you help me in identifying my voice type. Im 17 and I've went from a very high pitched voice to a low one during puberty.
My vocal range is D2-F4-Bb4.
Lower Register - D2-E3
Mid Register - F3- F4
Upper Register- E4-Bb4(head voice only i don't sing falsettos since they're squeaky and cracked,no whistle register)
I start mixing around F3/G3 and can belt comfortably at B3-C4. Above C4 i have to belt with a forward placement without nasality or else I sound tight.
My larynx is lowered below E2.
My head voice starts from E4.
Looking at your description you are probably a baritone.
But, you are young and your voice is still maturing...
At 20 years your voice will be mature enough for you to be sure.

You’re most likely a baritone. However, considering your age you probably will have a changing vocal range which might lower it down.

I think IM a Baritone but my voice is pretty light, but I feel like my higher notes, especially the F4, are my most resonant notes. My highest note in head voice can go up to D6.
Same my modal voice just sits in F4 but my head voice can go to G5 and my whistle just in D6

It's a free beat, I don't remember the name right now, but TH-cam has a lot of those.
John Legend is a tenor, his upper register gives that away. He has a raspy quality to his chest voice which gives the impression of “depth” but his voice isn’t that deep.
Of that lineup only the first singer is a baritone, the other two are different shades of tenor voice.
I've seen Liam Payne sing well in falsetto though too, and assumed he was a Tenor?!

Does anybody know any good examples of baritenors? I think I might be a dramatic baritenor (if that’s even possible lol), but idk any good examples to relate to. Also… does anyone know if it’s possible to be a dramatic baritenor 😆? I’m 16 years old, have a heavier, perhaps metallic tone and am hitting D2 up to around a C5 (not sure if it’s chest voice, but it is definitely not head voice or falsetto haha). dude you're almost certainly just a tenor lol, don't stress over this "baritenor" or dramatic stuff
Liam honestly doesn't sound like a Baritone, he sounds more Tenor like, but Tenors can also go really deep too, just not the majority of them, like me for instance I'm a Tenor, but can go deep, especially if I had just woke up or if I didn't warm up, but after a while I can't. I've heard of baritones wishing that they were Tenors, but as a baritone, there is nothing you are missing, the majority of Tenors can't go as deep as baritones, but Baritones can still go as high as Tenors, take Harry Style for instance, he's a Lyric Baritone, but I mistook him for a lower Tenor.

Liam has a light timbre, but his tessitura is not tenor.
He shows wear and tear in high notes, his voice is naturally low, and his comfort is in the mid-range.

Even if that were true, those low notes aren't used in songs most of the time and, even if they are, they don't generate anywhere near as much thrill as the high notes
Liam is a baritone.
Harrys voice kinda fluctuates between baritone and low tenor, he sings very forcefully so its hard to clearly judge.
And no, a tenor is always more desired because of its lighter weight.
From the middle range and up, a tenors voice sounds more pleasing and cuts the mix better than a baritones.
Even if a baritone can hit an E4-G4, a tenor will almost always sound much better in that same range.
A baritone really only shines in the lower range, and the falsetto range.

Since you couldn't get in all the people you wanted without TH-cam copy-striking your video (you ended up with nothing but lyric baritones here), I'll list some others:
Lyric baritones: who he had in his video
Leggero baritones: Justin Bieber, The Weeknd - i.e. boyish sounding voices that are mistaken for being high because of their tone - but in reality they don't sing what is considered to be a high note at all
Dramatic baritones: Obviously Josh Groban, most "jazz/standard" singers like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr and of course - Elvis Presley. I don't know why so many websites call Elvis a tenor.
Baritenor: I'm assuming the likes of Luther Vandross would be in this category. Perhaps Rob Lindquist from Home Free (second highest singer of the group) might be technically one of these - he's considered a tenor, but at times I'd swear I'm listening to a baritone singing instead.

Verdi Baritone - more of an operatic term, but it describes baritones that can sing very high AND incredibly strongly. They'll often sing more powerfully than even tenors can on the same notes. Best example would be the likes of Carlos Marin from Il Divo and Norm Lewis (although I'm not sure if Norm Lewis can still get his highest notes anymore)
For both Prince and Chris Isaak, their falsetto kicks in really early - in full voice they never sing much higher than a C4 or a D4, so I personally would make the case that they may even be basses, but with very good falsetto/mixed voices.
Stray Kids's Seungmin has a baritone voice, some says bland voice but i think that is unique because he is so versatile with his voice

There are women who can comfortably sing in the baritone range, but most experts wouldn't classify them as "baritones." The proper term would be "low contralto" or "Tiefer Alt." It's a subtype of the contralto voice that sings around in the range of a low tenor most of the time, and in some rare cases this voice type can sing as a high baritone. Not sure if any contralto can sing as a mid-baritone or lower, let alone a bass, but I've never heard any case like it and I would be surprised if such female voices existed.

That should be Dramatic Baritone.
A bass-baritone is not a separate voice type in between bass and baritone unlike what many people think, but an umbrella term for high basses and low baritones.

No Bocelli has a higher voice than Legend and Martin. Liam Payne, however, is a tenor I think.
