This is truly a fantastic journey, specifically to reply to TH-cam comments. First, congratulations on opening your Bilibili account. The lake appears blue because there are more minerals in it, which may be caused by phosphate salts. Here's a description from Baidu. On a clear day, the water is blue, and the valley is crescent-shaped, making it look like a blue moon embedded at the foot of the Yulong Snow Mountain, hence the name Blue Moon Valley. The name White Water River comes from the fact that the mud at the bottom of the lake is white, and when it rains, the water turns white, so it is also called White Water River. In Blue Moon Valley, the river water flows through the mountains and forms four larger bodies of water, known as Yulixiu Lake, Jingtan Lake, Blue Moon Lake, and Tingting Lake. There is also a theory that the moon, when reflected in the blue sky, is reflected in the blue lake, and since the Blue Moon Valley in James Hilton's novel "Lost Horizon" is similar, it was named "Blue Moon Valley".
Thank you for your comment 🙏 Ah this makes sense about the lake. Interesting about the lake having mud which turns it white! Also thanks for sharing how Blue Moon Valley got its name, This is great information to know 💗
lol enjoyed this vid a lot esp. on the tiring hump day. Thanks for the great content! Is it your first time to China? The route was very unique regarding you don't even speak Chinese. Very very impressive and please keep sharing!
I like your video❤I've been live in Dali more than 6 years, next time if you come back to Yunnan province u have to go to visit shangri La, it's a Tibetan area and also my favorite city in Yunnan.Shangri la has unique culture lovely local people and incredible beautiful nature views!my German friend came to visit China in April this year,he visited many cities in China, but in the end he told me Shangri la was the best part of his journey
Thank you so much for your kind words and the great recommendation! Shangri-La sounds absolutely amazing-I'll definitely make it a point to visit next time I'm in Yunnan.
Welcome to China, and I hope you can visit again. China has opened a 144-hour visa-free period, and I hope you can have a pleasant travel experience. I came from the Chinese App bilibili, your works are very beautiful, and there are very professional explanations of history and culture, which is very good, and I have watched every issue. In addition, your travel strategy is also very good, recommend you several suitable cities for travel: Nanjing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Changsha, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Harbin, Wuhan, Xi 'an, Chengdu, Guiyang. These are great cities to visit.
Thank you. I will visit again 💯 I have fallen in love with China! I am so glad you found me from BiliBili. Thanks for supporting me over here and for your kind words about my content. Stay tuned as I publish my videos from Chengdu, Chongqing, Beijing, and Shanghai! Thank you for those suggestions for other places to visit... These will have to be on trip China 2.0! 🙏
I climbed the Mt. Yulong by myself in 1999, only a few tourists and no such facilities and oxygen tank. Almost lost my way but luckily I made the way back. An unforgettable experience
Wow, that sounds like an incredible adventure! Climbing Mt. Yulong back in 1999 with minimal facilities must have been quite the challenge. It’s amazing you made it back safely and had such a memorable experience. Thanks for sharing your story!
They do not let you walk outside of the footpath which has been made with wood. There was not any snow on that as it is not the mountain. I suppose if it had been snowing when you are up there you could play in the snow ⛄️
when you go to the Shangri-La (Pudacuo national park) or Lugu lake, the lake there are more blue than this one. enjoy your trip and you make another very good video. hope you can have more subscribers very soon.
wow, that girl is from Zhejiang! I am also from Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province. I defo recommend you to go to Hangzhou, my fav city to live in around the world (green, tech, IT, scenic, traditional and modern). I went to Tibet with my parents for 2 weeks during middle school and I did not get any altitude sickness even at 6000m (without any oxygen cans). But when I went to Bipeng Valley in Sichuan during my Bachelor's, somehow I got really bad altitude sickness from just 4000m. One reason I think is because I was drinking Rhodiola Rosea a whole month in advance for the Tibetan trip. The other explanation might be I grow bigger and fitter and need more oxygen, I have no idea.
Thank you for your comment and sharing your travel experiences. Wow I would love to visit Tibet! How amazing you have been to 6000meters and without altitude sickness. From what I understand I think it has something to do with how quickly you ascend to the height.
@@wilkowanders Thank you for your reply! That makes sense now because I did spend a whole 2 weeks in Tibet slowly gaining altitude while when I went to Bipeng Valley I did it in 1-2 days.
Hi there Wilko! Looks like your trip in China was really enjoyable. Just come here to ask you for some suggestions of travelling in the UK.(I'm pretty sure you're an experienced traveller) I'm planning an one week trip next year in the UK. Heading to London for a rock music show in the London Palladium, and I'll stay in London for at least 4 days to see the British museum and the Wimbledon museum. But I have no idea what to do in the other 3 to 4 days of the journey. Should I visit Manchester or just go to another country, any suggestions?❤
Hi, It was really fun, I loved it! When visiting the UK I would recommend If you are in London you could get a train to visit Brighton - Its a seaside town on the south and enjoy some fish and chips (a British dish) and enjoy the games at the amusement arcades on the pier! I would also suggest going to the North of England, Manchester. It's a 3 hour journey on the train. You can explore the city centre, enjoy the hip northern quarter and even visit Manchester United / Manchester City Football stadium (if you are a fan of football) You could also go to the Peak District or the Lake district and enjoy one of the peaks and hike!
I am a Chinese. If you like mountain climbing, you can go to the Shaolin Temple on Mount Song, where is the holy land of Buddhism in China. I look forward to your visit and hope you will get better and better.
Sure, I visited in June and I bought 3 bottles of Oxygen which was enough for me. I did have some left over. You can also buy oxygen from shops on the top of the mountain if you run out
do you really need oxygen for this altitude? i see a lot of the others were not really using it. also, when I did Annapurna Base Camp and Langtang treks in Nepal, altitude was around the same but did not need any of that oxygen supplement.
Hi, I visited in June when I filmed this video so there was some snow at the top yes, people did say there was much more snow in other times of year though
I am jealous, I went there on end of June lately... shittiest weather ever. Can't see more than 5 meter on top the mountain lol. One thing good is blue moon lake, it was so pretty since it is at the bottom of the mountian and weather is not that bad.
Ah nice, well not so much the weather, to be honest it was mostly cloudy when I arrived and thankfully there was some wind to clear up the view! The Blue Moon Lake was beautiful
To book this day trip I did and booked (via trip.com) Lijiang Jade Dragon Snow Mountain + Glacier Park Cableway + Blue Moon Valley one-day tour: www.trip.com/t/M15NX2EK1W1
