They banned arabic classes and closed mosque in yunnan Najiaying village province even video footage of that. Very disappointed that you are a mouthpiece for CCP. My concern with China is when was confronted with a video of Chinese moving prisoners with heads shaved, bound, and blindfolded en masse, their ambassador said "this is just how we move prisoners" and refused to provide court case documents.

I went up to Urumqi and Kashgar in July this year and found zero evidence of a genocide or locals being treated like slaves.
I'm not doubting your experience but that doesn't mean repression isn't happening. My best friend, a PhD scholar and academic was literally picked up from the road when visiting her family in Xinjiang from Germany and put into a reeducation camp. She came out with a job, but having gone through God knows what. She's still not allowed to talk about it. Please don't cast doubt on the situation without knowledge.

In China you have all sorts of freedom including freedom to practice Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Confucianism , Taoism, folk religions of all sorts BUT you cannot use your religions or your freedom to commit treason against the State, terrorism, bombing in public places, support the CIA to commit color revolution to overthrow the CPC government, support the Separation of Xinjiang, Tibet, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan from China. In every country including the US have laws to protect national security of the nation. This include China. In Singapore you can be detain without trial if you commit treasons, etc under the Internal Security Act against the State. In China you have freedom to pray to a tree for good luck and fortune. The CPC government will not jail you.

He very much has the air of a paid up Chinese propagandist. They try to recruit his type. Trying too hard to paint a totally glossy picture. There are many accounts of suppression of religious minorities in China, sometimes large scale.. Ethnic minorities trampled on, with a few paid to do 'traditional dances' in traditional clothes for tourists.
I am not for the west, east, south or north, but I am still not convinced that the people there went through an easy transition of being mandarinized. The mosques have been there for centuries and there are clear evidence of how they have been changed to suit the one China policy.
fun fact, there are more mosques in China than NA and EU combined. with the rising islamophobia in EU and America. I'm more worried about Muslims in those countries if we are being honest here.

The mosque is older than the founding of America and this is not even the oldest mosque in China. The oldest mosque in China is the Huaisheng Mosque in Guangzhou built in 629 AD. Guess when the prophet passed away, 632 AD. Guess whose tomb the mosque housed, Saad Bin Abi Waqqas, a companion of the Prophet.
The Uighurs only converted to Islam if not mistaken in the 13 or 14th century. The biggest Muslim ethnic group is not the Uighur but the Hui ethnic. Muslims have been living in China for 14 centuries. Muslims in China are not immigrants.....and Westerners esp Americans wonder why Islamic countries do not condemn China. The architecture of some of the oldest mosques in China are considered holy by Muslims all over the world. Hence, those who know history know about the US BS about Xinjiang.

There were articles a while back with examples of mosque in china with Chinese architectural elements. The used these as an example of China attempt to erase Islamic culture. Some of these pictures were totally fake, using two different mosque and passing it off as a before and after of the same one. Some people actually belive this stuff. These mosque were built centuries ago, 😅 that's how buildings looked, what were they expecting?

People in the West do not understand how people live in countries with a great diversity of ethnic groups, China has 56, Russia has 190+. Xinjiang has been part of China since Qianlong's generals calmed the unrest of the Dzungars with the help of the Mongolian tribes. There are also a number of churches around the city for Christians. One time I saw a Buddhist monk taking a selfie in front of the Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Not only Danny Haiphong, but also delegations of Muslim clergy have gone to XianJiang to see for themselves if there was anything to the stories of cultural genocide, genocide, ethnic oppression and religious persecution, and they found none of that. They found that there was a terrorism problem connected to Sunni Salafist extremists desiring to secede XianJiang and turn it into an Islamic State, and that that was being dealt with. Other than that, they concluded that China is a very good country to live in if what you want to do, is to live a decent life and practice islam. When I saw the title, I thought, oh no, here we go again. But when I saw that it was you, Danny, I knew it was from a source I could trust. Japanese friends who visited Xinjiang also spoke of how freely the Muslims were able to practice their religion, which was thriving, and that it was a very nice place. That was years ago, however, so I am glad to see that that is still the case.
One would expect that with cultures so vastly different as Han Chinese and an Abrahamic faith-based culture, there would be some friction. I recall that regarding Genghis Khan's empire, that despite their violence, they esteemed multiculturalism. I think it goes to show that the mindset of the Orient in general differs massively from the European-based global hegemonic mindset that Oswald Spengler called the "Faustian" great culture, which esteems empirical knowledge for power over nature and also over other people above all other values.
When Arabs came to China in theTang dynasty, arounf 800mAD, they were allowed to practice their religion.
A couple of hundred years later, western crusaders were still punishing Muslims in the Middle East.

Every accusation is an admission of guilt. The very same people who have been accusing China of committing a genocide against the Muslims are themselves committing a genocide against Muslims. About 10% of China's population are Muslims, well represented in the Chinese government, a growing & thriving community with lots of Mosques and complete freedom of worship there. This is in marked contrast with the people who accuse China of genocide but are themselves who.are really committing a genocide against Muslims...in such countries as Palestine & Gaza & Syria & Iraq & Libya & Lebanon & Yemen and an endless other countries, all of them victims of American imperialism.

Fun fact: as Indonesian I will say, along with Arab and Gujarat traders who spread Islam on here, there is any big influence of Chinese muslim too actually especially in north coast of Java, thats why you will see alot of masjid with chinese architecture named as well known Chinese Muslim greatest admiral Zheng-he/Cheng Ho.
