      Implementing pedestrians crossing the roads also brings a lot issues with it. Currently the only places pedestrians spawn are out of border for the ordinary player (playing the game the legit way), and therefore these NPCs are only animated (have no collision, physics). You could add these physics and revamp their locations they spawn at .. but then, what will ETS2 change to, when you can kill pedestrians? And if you keep them having no collision, doesn't make the game more realistic in any way.

    1. In real life Volvo and Renault share many components including transmissions, and this is implemented in the game; When you are choosing a transmission to put in a truck you'll notice that the transmission options and gear ratios are identical between Volvo and Renault, it's just they are branded as I-shift on Volvos and Optidriver on Renaults, also the retarder behaves exactly the same way on both brands (when you put on the retarder it also activates the engine brake automatically on Volvos and Renaults only). same goes between MAN, Iveco, and DAF which all have the same transmission supplier (ZF).
    2. DAF, Peterbilt, and Kenworth are all owned by Paccar, so when you play ATS you'll notice that Kenworth and Peterbilt have Paccar engines and so do DAF trucks in ETS2.
    3. Most transmissions in trucks are 12 speed automated manuals, so the trucks are slow when setting off and the shifts take ages, but if you go for a 6 speed you'll notice that the truck accelerates much quicker and the shifts are very quick, that's because 6 speeds are torque converters and not automated manuals (just like in real life).
    I'm a truck enthusiast so if you have any questions or want tips about ETS2 just reply. I can talk about trucks all day long!

    • @salahdehina9733
      @salahdehina9733 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@antonycharnock2993 It isn't always the best option though. having only 6 speeds means that the gears are pretty long, so with heavy loads your truck is gonna struggle especially up hills and it won't have many gears to choose from. The reason why it feels good with your Scania is because it has a lot of torque and you're probably not pulling very heavy weights.

    The AI trucks that you see are proportioned according to actual market numbers, at least on a brand level, and is periodically adjusted in updates. I believe that extends down to specific models within the brand as well, though there are a fixed number of variant color schemes and accessory trims for each model that are chosen randomly. Some trims that you see on AI trucks (Mercedes New Actros with the plastic grill for example) are only available through the DLC, but will show up as AI traffic even for players without the DLC installed.
    If you've played through several version updates you will also notice that diesel prices are not constant, but are periodically adjusted to reflect the real-world pricing for that region. For example, in a recent ATS update, prices recently jumped by quite a bit to reflect the last year's significant climb in diesel prices in the US.

    1) Driving Modes (Sport/Comfort, Truck terms maybe), should change the color of the cluster as well, ex: the New DAF XG got a cluster with blue and it should turn red when on sport mode.
    2) some Interior ambient lighting maybe idk
    3) Trucks get dirty and truck washes
    4) Lane Departure warning
    5) cruise control distance warning
    6)

      1. There's a setting for economic/normal/high power for driving with automatic gearbox
      2. Scania tuning pack has a light under the steering wheel (around pedals). Tho full cabin ambient light light would be better
      3. Yeah, would be nice
      4. If you go quite far outside the road on the grass, I hear a loud warning signal, idk about you. Also on highways if you drive on the line on the outer lane you will hear buzzing, that's enough of a warning.
      5. maybe, but that's your job to keep an eye on traffic. Don't expect everything to have sensors. It's not 2040 yet

    we're using in real life, when truckers go decline on road, they're decreasing their gear until clock reaches to 2000 rpm (probably 12th gear to 9) and getting slow and controlled on declines.but its also charges the alternator by trigger band (the part of car which is charging car battery) and that causes 0.0 liter of fuel consumption. but if u go with N gear on inclines, it uses 1.2 liter of fuel per hour to keep engine awake. also they did this detail in euro truck simulator 2 too

    4. Ever wondered What the 2 Timers are on the DAF XGs instrument cluster are? They are the Timers for your Esimated Time of Arrival (ETA) and the timer for your max Driving hours before a Brake.
    5. If the Trucks are Damaged,the tend to have an higher Coolant temeprature rather than a non damaged truck..Also a damaged truck isnt just starting badly, depending on the damage,you can lose Gears...

      The Simulation Geek The "Limited Speed 90 KM/H" placard/sticker on my Scania S didn't disappear when I turned off the truck speed limiter in the settings. It's clearly part of the interior texture of the truck. And TBH the placard/sticker is kinda outdated now since all 2018-onwards models (the truck came in the game in late 2017) now say "90 KM/H" instead, I've saw it though in a Scania review video of Stavros969. SCS seemed to have not it changed to that current placard/sticker look.

  • @SIG442
    @SIG442 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The flashing back thing is actually not entirely accurate.
    The AI does this to warn you that you have your bright lights on, this is to simulate that you blinding other road users.
    Unfortunately the flashing back isn't added as greeting, same for honking. Honking is used if you or an AI vehicle stands still for too long.
    A missing thing is for the truck lights over all. The AI Police is the only one to react if you don't turn your lights on during night.
    However no other AI driver seems to care. Same counts for indicators and all flashing lights and reversing lights.
    However if you turn on emergency lights (both right and left indicators flashing) the AI will take distance from you and stop way earlier.
    This also seems to help with reversing as suddenly the Ai does react to this now. This however doesn't make all AI drivers pay attention,
    just as in real life you always have those drivers that don't pay attention or don't care.
    When driving on the highway and you get to a part where another road joins the one you are on, notice that the on ramp usually slows down and even stops if needed.
    Now this isn't IRL behavior as it is even highly illegal to stop on a highway without good reason, accidents, traffic jams or potential collisions for example. This is however made worse by traffic on the actual highway not going 1 lans to the left (or right for England) so on coming traffic can keep on rolling. Knowing this, make sure you do this and you will less likely end up in a accident or having to dodge AI that suddenly stops.
    AI spawns in a odd way in vanilla ETS2 and ATS, this causes accidents if you don't pay attention and even then it causes bad situations as AI can even spawn right next to you in a dead zone that you can't see. Like right next to you just outside of view. Why this is, no idea. But in Promods for ETS2 this seems to be mostly fixed. For vanilla ETS2 you still need to pay a lot of attention to avoid accidents that simply don't need to happen. This is a SCS issue to fix, this simply makes no sense and I did mention it quite a few times with SCS employees getting angry that it wouldn't be the case.
    How does this start? Well from what I could figure out (try at a crossing to replicate so you don't cause issues and standing still) you would be looking left and right a few times. As soon as you think nothing is coming and look the other way, then back again a vehicle spawned suddenly forcing you to wait longer. Also this will happen to the passenger side of your truck when you did look in the front and side mirrors before trying to scoot over to that lane. Somehow also this can cause a AI vehicle, usually a car, to spawn right next to you. Really annoying and completely unneeded, it simply breaks the immersion and reality.
