I started very late in life (close to 40 years old) to begin learning piano. It has always been something that draws me deeper and deeper into its magic, no matter who is playing. For the first time, however, you have outdone all others in your interpretation of Chopin and especially Debussy's Clair de Lune. As this is the piece I am currently working on, I could not only hear, but feel every single note you executed. So many players seem to rush through pieces like this, but you allowed it to "flow" through your whole being, exiting with each touch of your fingers. Exceptionally beautiful. Thank you from the bottom of my 78 year old heart.
Yeah, it lovely like first love, or a new dog into the family, if we only spoke in music there wouldn't be any wars or oppression, I had a vivid dream once 40 odd years ago as a young man it felt as magical as listening to Debussy that's all I say about it, played lovely my warmest respects a fan.
Oh my. How she plays with great clarity !!! Immensely appreciated. Reminded me of my mom , growing up ,,, she used to play this beautiful piece,,, great memories,,, thank you for executing this piece so soothingly beautiful ❤

Never! I started in my 40s and I'm now 78. Once you get the understanding of the "keys" in piano (i.e., C Major) under your belt, and get a teacher, or go online and search for piano tutorials, you will soon begin to, at least, get a better understanding in your mind of the process. The time is getting your fingers to follow. It's hard work, but worth the effort. There is nothing so beautiful than actually playing music. I've been working on Clair de Lune for years and I'm nowhere as accomplished as Dr. Berberian, but I can play the first page and it gives me goose flesh every time. Life is too short to forgo trying what gives you pleasure. Good luck in your endeavors. BJW>
Break the piece up into pages, or even phrases, a section at a time. Play hard sections “hands alone” until you get them right. Don’t think you need to take command of the whole piece any time very soon. I have been working on Clair de lune that way, a little bit at a time, for over a year. I am not a professional musician, but playing gives me joy. I’m 80 years old so I have no professional objective. I do have a few people whose recorded versions I listen to regularly. As long as I’m alive, I’ll be working on Clair de lune. I’m happy doing that, and my husband still likes to hear me play.
