Steinway Artist Lang Lang performs Beethoven's "Für Elise" on the Lang Lang Steinway Black Diamond Limited Edition. Of the piece, Lang Lang says: “For me it is very romantic, and light, like a feather. It has to come from nowhere and it has to touch people. It can’t just be treated as background music. I’ve tried to play the piece as the masterpiece that it is, and I hope that children who begin learning 'Für Elise' will treat it the same way.”

The more I listen to Lang Lang, the more I am amazed by him. It's difficult to describe, but when he plays, he gives the piano something akin to voice, soul, mind, or direction. He can give notes weight, or make them fly. He can stretch them, and make them bounce, and rebound. He is an artist at the highest level, eliciting things from the piano that I have never heard from other players.

I teach the piano, and was taught classical piano for 7 years at the Royal Schools of Music, so I have played this, heard this and taught students this piece probably more than any other piece of music in my whole life. So I have because immune to this piece.
This is the first time I watched this video and it brought me to tears.
    Thank you Lang Lang.
    First you listen to music,
    Then you like,
    You then love it,
You then get attached to it.
Then you let music come into you, your ears, your heart your soul.
Then you let go of yourself and immerse yourself in music
    Then you become the music.
    THEN THE MUSIC becomes YOU.

I love music. All kinds of music. Jazz, pop, rock, heavy metal, and yes, rap too, or beat, folk music, everything. Folk music is almost perfect, no matter what nation we're talking about. It's been honed over centuries until it's so beautiful. But nothing reaches the level of the great classical composers. When I listen to this, I almost feel like I'm in another dimension. My worries disappear, my soul softens, the world becomes more beautiful, my mind opens up. It's a sublime feeling.

This is just stunning and beautiful. No words can describe this piece when Lang Lang plays it. Just wow
