Thanks for posting, Joel. I broke the same switch and I was ready just going to just buy a new radio. I watched your video and ordered the same FrSky switch (long lever). I already had the tools, but no experience, but at this point it didn't matter -- I mean I was going to buy a new radio anyway! Thanks for including and commenting your "errors" during the disassembly in the video. Otherwise, I would have done the same. Bottom line, followed the video, did the repair, and she works again! Thanks!!

WOW! What a great video. My grandson's radio fell when his neck strap came off and he broke 3 switches. I was frustrated that the manufacturer didn't offer any parts and I couldn't find any on flea bay. I watched your video and 3 FrSky switches are on their way. My grandson will be flying again by next weekend. Thank you so much.

I guess I'm lucky. I emailed Horizon Hobby customer support and asked them if I could buy a switch from them to replace the broken "D" switch on my DX8. They sent me one free of charge.

Thank you so much for this video. I only had my new Gen3 DX6 for 3 months and I fumbled it while taking it out of my backpack and it crashed onto the wooden table out on the flying field. I picked it up and my D switch was bent and didn't function properly. I simply ordered a new part on amazon prime that same night and I received it and replaced it in 3 days.

I have DX6 and my 3 position switch broke when a plane landed on it literally. I replaced it with an FRSKY switch and it works fine now. So far so good.

When Radio Shack was still a thing I would put all kinds of crazy switches on my tx. The one I had for the bomb drop had the red cover over the top that you had to flip up as to not accidentally dropped the bomb.

Have you ever had a gimbal break on spektrum radio? My right gimbal side to side spring just broke randomly while i had my favorite plane in the air..the stick tensioner just snapped inside and i could not move it up or down either. Ive used the radio alot and took good care of it. I ended up buying the NX6 for a replacement radio and im not impressed with it for 300 bucks the gimbals could be better. Though id ask about that thanks for sharing the vid about the switch.

Joel, your video was great. my problem is getting the correct switch! ALL the X9 Frisky 2 way switches I look at had a schematic showed Three positions. on-off-on. And the actual 2 position switch I ordered was a spring switch, Can you tell me the exact 2 way switch you ordered? the 2 way switch I need is for my DX8 Gen 2 transmitter is Switch "H".

Hello Joel, think it would be the same on the Interlink Transmitter that comes with the RealFlight simulator? My safe mode switch broke. Thanks, Anthony

11:15 Notice the foil label on back of transmitter has a Spektrum part number SPMxxxxx, a model number and a statement of FCC compliance: "This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC code." Do you agree there are plenty of counterfeit DX6, DX6i, and even seen some DX8 without this info on the silver tag, here on TH-cam, and on eBay?

@@joellikecatcher3480 Don't know how to post photos here, but if you go to eBay and see the "original listing" for DX8, item 312595349808. Also, current item 323802255667, a DX6i. Item 303139977460 was a legit DX4e, but most eBay listings for this item do not have the proper label on the rear. Search for Dx8 transmitter, and "sold items" find this item "SPEKTRUM DX8 RC Model 8 Channel TRANSMITTER with Manuals" FAKE? Has not FCC compliance statement. Please correct me if I am wrong.

@@birdwing98 You can't post photos in comments; Not a feature of TH-cam. I recommend you only buy Spektrum radios from authiorized dealers. eBay can be sketchy.

Will it work on my dx6e as well??

The antenna wire is short and very fragile on a DX8e. I replaced my switch, but disconnected antenna wire. ouch, crashed a plane.

Thks so much!, love the laughing switch
Do you think that 2 position switch works to replace C switch? Thks!!

    • @JoelLukacher
      @JoelLukacher 6 ปีที่แล้ว

I would expect it to work same as the C switch. It would just be longer than the original.

Great video! I have a Dx6e transmitter and the lousy power button froze on me. I was able to get the unit open and the boards off of the chassis to get the button free, but does anyone know a way to stop this from happening? I contacted spektrum and they gave me the runaround to send the thing in for service, at $40 an hour plus shipping. I would love a workaround where I dont have to use that idiotic button at all, just plug in my battery pack and go. This has to be on of the worst designs ever. And of course it happens 3 days after warranty runs out. Appreciate comments!

Yeah, I doubt my original DX8 is in warranty: that thing is probably 7 years old!

That's pretty sad when the manufacturer of a popular product and the main dealer and or retail store that sells that product such as the Spektrum transmitters and Horizon Hobby will not sell the simple replacement parts such as the toggle and slider switches or any other part within the Spektrum transmitters, unless you send the transmitter to Horizon Hobby at your expense, and let them replace whatever part with an extra expense for replacing the part, then you'll end up paying three prices for one simple part that most people could do blindfolded, what a crock of bs, that's why I won't buy anymore Spektrum products, nor will I buy from or deal with Horizon Hobby anymore, and I've heard many other people say the same thing when at the field flying our aircraft of the weekend mornings. I'm done with the overpriced cheap Spektrum products and the big headed greedy dealer and retail business Horizon Hobby. I've bought several types of switches for the FrSky transmitters over the years to replace broken or faulty switches in my DX7 G2 transmitter, I've also purchase a FrSky Taranis X9D SE transmitter within the last year that I like far better than my DX7 because it's more reliable, with far more setup options, with far more different types of receivers to choose from at much lower prices, and the good thing about it all, I know of four FrSky dealers and or retail hobby stores that sell parts and FrSky products within the USA.
