"IT'S ALIVE" It makes me feel good when you can revive a beautiful old American original classic. After 30 plus years she now knows that she can travel the roads like a beauty queen that was set aside in the past not know what will happen to her. She lives on, who knows what's next company car or you're maybe the next owner when she is completely done. Papa 🐻
You're a good man Papa Bear, you got the old girl running!!! Isn't it cool looking out over that massive hood with the hood ornament at the end? You look good driving this gorgeous machine!!! 👍👍😁
@@brentonmcclean3647 Thank you Brenton greatly appreciated. Everything is great here. How about with you? I probably will not start my own series I enjoy working with my son. Stay safe pal. Papa 🐻
Anthony loved when you told your dad to stay there holding the gas can ,you stay there your dad yells out got plenty of gas !!!! Lol that's what you call a proud man !😊😳
My father had an LTD that looked just like this one. Beautiful automobile. Thanks for the video, guys. Papa Bear looks like he has been driving this one for years.
Hello Pal. No this is the first time this car has gone out on its own power in 30 + yrs. I'm sure you know that. Who knows maybe now that it's running I may drive it for a long time and enjoy it. Papa 🐻
I was born in 1977 and feel that this Lincoln has aged much better than me. I am looking forward to seeing it all cleaned up. Hopefully I won't have to wait another 18 months for the part 3!
Well Done Guys!! So refreshing to see an old car started correctly. TH-cam is full of guys starting Classics on old gas and old/dirty fluids. Thank you for setting a Fantastic example. A big hello to you and Poppa Bear!!
Something tells me that Papa Bear is in love - and I don't blame him one little bit. That is one beautiful car! Can''t wait to see it when it's finished. Loved the way it fired right up - like it had been sitting for 30 minutes, not 30 years.
I’ll tell you, we owned a 1978 Mark V Diamond Jubilee in Jubilee Gold and it is our favorite car - the one we wish we still had. They are huge yes, but they drive beautifully. Smooth, comfortable, and, believe it or not, good handling and easy to park. You can see all four corners and the car goes exactly where you point it. I think everyone should take a cross country trip in a Mark once in their life. Amazing view over that hood!
Hey Anthony and Papa Bear, What a magnificent car ! WOW !!! I own a '79 Lincoln Mark V Collectors edition, triple dark blue. I won't give it up for ANYTHING.......
That was awesome Anthony thanks!! People say these Malaise era cars were junk, unreliable etc. just look at it! Minimal fuss, new fuel system (just from sitting) and it’s purring like a kitten first shot. Gorgeous time capsule. Enjoy your time with dad. Sadly my dads been gone since 2006. God bless !!!
Robert please Reread my comment. I said “some people” say this era of cars were junk. My parents owned two Mark Vs a DJE and A Bill blass. In the 15-18 years dad owned his BB the only things I fixed on it were a power steering hose (long complex sucker that went to the brake system “hydroboast” and and expansion. Valve. That was it. The DJE needed a transmission. At 140k miles and a carb , water pump and power window motor and exhaust resonator. Both cars were bought used and daily driven for years! I think they were VERY dependable and nice driving cars!! A bit under powered compared to my 70 Mark lll but that’s not fair to compare the two
Really enjoyed this one. I had forgotten about it, it has been so long. I think she's destined to be a true winner. You'll make a decent profit, and like always, you'll price it fair and honest. Someone is going to be a very lucky new owner. Take your time, there's no great rush on this one!
Hi Anthony and Papa bear. Awesome video and beautiful Lincoln! Thank goodness for people like you that save these American treasures. Papa bear always gets a thumbs up for his work. I’m surprised that it ran so well, Imwould have thought the carb would have been a little sticky or clogged but excellent! Can’t wait to see it when she’s all polished up. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Pal now that we have it running after sitting 30+ years we will work on it I in our spare time. We have plenty of cars to move out we like to keep them moving out to new owners. When the time is right we will have it moved up on the list. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Hey Anthony & Papa Bear, this Mark V is near & dear to my heart since I had it's twin back in the late seventies to the early eighties!!! If I didn't live in a retirement community with only one coveted parking space (basically parking outside) I'd buy it in an instant. I just hope that it goes to a good home! Thanks for taking good care of this beautiful baby!!! 👍👍😁 I had no doubt that it would start right up, I was smiling through the entire video!!! 😀
Great we all need to smile😊 we need to do that every day. I am also one lucky Papa 🐻 to have a son like Anthony also. Thank you Milton. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Papa Bear you are stylin' in the Lincoln. What a great find, and can't wait for the restoration reveal. I appreciate the history you are keeping alive!
There are 2 American cars cars from the 70's I have always wanted and loved.....75-78 Caddy Eldorado and the any yrs of of the Lincoln Mark V's!!! You are so lucky to be working with all these old beauties!!!
A great $3K purchase right there! Great color combo. I've always liked these with leather interior the best. The size of those remind me of the Thunderbirds several years eariler (I think '77 they were totally different and smaller). When I got into a triple white TB my sister was driving (dating a doctor), think it was a '73 or '74, all I could see was HOOD! Looking forward to seeing the results and what you do to it, but even with dirt, she is very fine!
I absolutely love ❤️ the Lincoln. I know it’ll be out of my price range. But, I’d love to own it. I’ve been a Lincoln lover since I was a little boy and I’ve owned a few of them. It makes my heart ❤️ happy to see her running again. Thank you Anthony and Pa Pa Bear for keeping these beautiful cars on the road.
Great work guys….I’ve never liked the canary yellow on Caddy’s but on this Lincoln certainly after you showed off that incredible interior…I love it, it fits perfectly.
I smiled when you got it operational again. It reminds me of the one the Phantom Fox drove in the Disney film North Avenue Irregulars. This generation of Lincoln Mark I liked. I liked the Mark IV, Mark V, Mark VI and Mark VIII. I was not a fan of Mark VII. I enjoyed the video watching you and father getting it running again.
2 Thumbs way Up for the Incredible Papa Bear and Anthony Resto of bringing a classic Boat back to Life!!! Love it when Father and Son can achieve success like this with no arguing and fussing a monumental moment!!! What was old is new again!!! Easy on Bessie she might pop a tire or 4 lol!!!!
Thank you Justin we are happy working on these great American beauties. Then also returning them back to people who will keep and enjoy them. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
I love these kinds of vids; and these beautiful Lincolns were the end of an era. Just a couple things: 1) Why not paint that beautiful new gas tank, maybe with Rustoleum? 2) At 11:33 you mention the ignition points. Didn't '77s have electronic ignition? Thx for posting!

Those 460s were BEASTS back in 72 and prior, each later year it got more and more detuned . From 300+ hp and 400+ lbs of torque to its final 165hp and 260lbs of torque lol still a nice cruiser but I can’t stand the color combo ick what were they thinking?!?
My favorite Model of Lincoln I like the 74 Mark IV and the 77 Mark V. What a sweet rig thank you both for sharing this video. Love you guys. One day I will travel down from Lewiston Maine just to check you guys out.
This video brought tears to my eyes when she started! I had it’s sister car 1975 fully loaded Thunderbird, same color combo cannery yellow with a chocolate carmel leather interior with Crome basket Reims… loved 🥰 that car! Was stolen twice. The second thievery they smashed the dash insurance co Totaled it because of wiring damage🥲 I have longed for it ever since! Make sure you put a anti-theift on this baby… She’s beautiful!!!!!!!!❤️

I just love all these cars that you have I would give anything to have an older Lincoln Mark 8 or a town car I used to drive them all the time when I was younger I really like to have one now I wish I lived closer to where you live
Bought new 1978 TBird Town Landau...believe same basic body, etc....was a solid, quiet highway cruiser and fun to drive...kept 7 years until it would shut down completely.....usually on highway....my mechanic never did solve the problem after many attempts to correct problem...but was fun while it lasted.
Yes, Anthony! Your 1977 Continental Mark V is the Gold/Cream Luxury Group Edition, part of the "Mix & Match" Luxury Group Series that started with six color combinations but quickly expanded to, at least, twelve variations as each month saw the addition of a new Mix & Match combo. By 1978, the Continental Mark V had become a fashion designer's dream car with an ever expanding collection of colors and upholstery choices that made the Mark V the "collectable" production luxury car.
Hell, do a video of both really -tires and cleaning it up. Was a good watch -been looking forward just to see what you were even going to do with this thing. Papa Bear did a hell of a job getting that beast moving again -hats off to him:-)
What a cool Mark V. A friend of mine worked for a Ford dealer in Springfield MA in the late 70s/early 80s. Told me these were the toughest cars to deal with getting on the rack and around the service area as they are so HUGE. And turning radius makes them not so easy to get around (and he daily drives a 04 Town Car Executive L!). For what little it needed to just start running and driving, that is most impressive. Good luck with the continued work on this car! A set of tires would certainly make it a bit more confidence inspiring compared to the MayPop on the front lol
I have been fortunate to be able to collect a fair number of interesting cars through the years. One of my favorites is my ‘77 Mk V. I put a mild 525 hp 521 stroked 460 in it with accompanying upgrades, but not enough so as to detract from its originality. Nothing else drives like it. Long live the American car!
Great job with getting the car going again. Interesting, that car was sold by the Wayne Lincoln Mercury dealership near me in NJ. The dealership is still operating today. Keep up the great work, great to see the car running again.
Hello John thank you. Anthony would let me take any one of his cars. When the time comes and the Mark V is down it will be my ride for a while 😊. Papa 🐻
So exciting...you are raising the dead Herr Doctor Frankenstein... LOL Popa Paulie was looking all Gangsta behind that big MK V big wheel... ITSA LOTTA LINCOLN to be piloting around. Not a tiny DTS... LOL :) So rewarding no??? Good job boys :)
She runs smooth and it looks like most things still work on her. And how cool is it that after all these years Ford still uses that blue/green IP lighting.
I had a DJE 20 years ago. Swore I'd never have another Mark V again. Then a couple years ago, a guy from the local LCOC was selling his and I bought it. Been fun to have a lower mileage one.
I just let go of my 1976 Mark IV with 25k on it. It needs to give to someone who will drive and maintain it. I haven't driven it for 10 years. She will be auctioned off. I can't wait to see the progress on your Mark V!!
Looks good 77 was a good year versus the 79 when they put the 400 motor in the final year of the Mark V you have a rare bird no passenger mirror or moonroof or vanity mirrors I love my 1978 Mark 5 Cartier edition White Walls are getting harder to find best of luck with it
no doubt the Mark V is a beast. i absolutely remember the original story of this Continental. glad you did a follow up story on this. (Big Mark VI fanatic)
WOW Great Job Anthony and Papa....Papa does alot of work for the Shop. Good for you Papa. :) The Lincoln is Gorgeous. Anthony do you know when you may have the two upcoming 2009 Town Cars For Sale..? I saw them on your website that they will be coming up. I am very interested, especially the L one. Thanks....
That is one of my favorite cars in the whole world I would absolutely love to own that car but I know the value of that car would be a little out of my price range LOL best looking car in my opinion ever made hands down
It is really nice to see a video where the fuel system and distributor cap / points / capacitor / rotor was completely overhauled before attempting 6 million cranks and wondering why it doesn’t start

Amazin' fellas! "Your other left" haha! "New fuel sipping Co. car" "I've heard that before" belly laughed at that one. You guys are the best!
We put 4 gallons of fuel in the new tank. Put 8/10ths of a mile on it. It ran out of gas pretty quickly lol
That shows the quality out into those cars, that it can start right up after 30 years. Lincoln is an amazing product
So exciting...you are raising the dead Herr Doctor Frankenstein... LOL
Popa Paulie was looking all Gangsta behind that big MK V big wheel...
ITSA LOTTA LINCOLN to be piloting around. Not a tiny DTS... LOL :)
So rewarding no??? Good job boys :)
Thank you Pal you put a big smile😊 on my face😊. Papa 🐻
Love the green lights on the dash
Where do you get your power antenna from?
I just let go of my 1976 Mark IV with 25k on it. It needs to give to someone who will drive and maintain it. I haven't driven it for 10 years. She will be auctioned off. I can't wait to see the progress on your Mark V!!
Looks good 77 was a good year versus the 79 when they put the 400 motor in the final year of the Mark V you have a rare bird no passenger mirror or moonroof or vanity mirrors I love my 1978 Mark 5 Cartier edition White Walls are getting harder to find best of luck with it
Awesome!
My mom had a dark green one when I was a kid. Very cool indeed.
no doubt the Mark V is a beast. i absolutely remember the original story of this Continental. glad you did a follow up story on this. (Big Mark VI fanatic)

It’s a stunning car 👍🏼definitely a keeper 🤷🏼♂️
When you going to put out the prices for the summer sale?
They will start rolling out next week individually
Nice which one are you going to start with?
I hope I have enough to get one!
That is one of my favorite cars in the whole world I would absolutely love to own that car but I know the value of that car would be a little out of my price range LOL best looking car in my opinion ever made hands down
Sure about that? You'd better have pockets as deep as the Marianas Trench for gas on this one. 🙃
LOVE that Lincoln!!!
The MKV is my favourite car.
It is really nice to see a video where the fuel system and distributor cap / points / capacitor / rotor was completely overhauled before attempting 6 million cranks and wondering why it doesn’t start
