- Home made Surma - Add beauty to your eyes
Surma is something we commonly call an eyeliner/ Kajal these days. An eyeliner/ kajal/ surma is a stroke of black powder / paste or liquid that sets above our lash line to give our eyes a bold look altogether or jus under the eye to enhance the beauty. Eyeliner has become a significant part of our daily beauty standards all over the world today!
But did you know it’s not just beauty but also healthy and cooking to the eye .
Try this home made Surma and you will fall in love with it .
Items needed
Oil/ ghee
Wick
Lamp
Cup
Plate
This is also water proof and free from chemicals and preservatives .
Very beautiful video sis.😊
I use this regularly. It's water proof but not smudge proof.🙃
Will this help in improving eyesight?
I don’t think this is a medication.. but it defines your eyes making it look pretty and also provides cooling effect
But how to apply this surma... other than hands ? And where to buy that?
U can apply with a small brush which u can usually find in the beauty supplies store
I want to use this method but try to get the color to a deep red/brown. Any advice?
Sorry .. I haven’t tried making that .
There is a difference between kohl and surma 😅

Easy to understand and informative video. Your voice is very calming, please keep on making videos!!
Thank you 😊
Thank you very much for this tutorial. I'm gonna try it tomorrow in shaa Allah
Sure ❤️
Thanks so much for this! Your instructions are really easy to follow and your explanation is very clear! I’m going to try it 😊
You are so welcome!
Thank you for this video!! Does it matter if we use a stainless steel metal plate or does it have to be a bronze Kansa plate?
Either works
Hello, please tell me if the soot obtained in this way is harmful to health? I read on the Internet that soot is very harmful . I made my kajal using medical gauze made of cotton and ground almonds and coconut oil, based on your method.
I am not medical professional .I have been using this myself for 2 years. I have experienced no issues when using it. But please consult your medical provider before using this .
Does the coconut oil help? Is it still waterproof with the coconut oil? Also, did u make it as a paste or powder?
@@Зебинисо-ы4б
Please share how you do it.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing. Without the almonds, does this still have a cooling effect on the eyes?
Yes it does
Thanks
Thanks this is great -- what tool do you use to apply this kajal to eyes? Where can we buy it?
It’s a fine point eyeliner brush that you can buy online on Amazon or can purchase at any beauty product store
🤯 simplified and straightforward this was a great video! Is it necessary for me to order a surma container for storage or can I use a simple plastic container and lid?
Any sterilized contained would do .. enjoy your Surma ..
When you use this method or similar methods, is there a certain odor I should be concerned about? I would love to try this tutorial, but I live with my family (3 generations!) with limited space and don't want to be too intrusive with a strange smell if I did it inside. I would just need to change the location if there is a smell but would love to know in advance! Thank you so much for the clear instructions! Also how long will the powder be preserved? And as a liquid/cream how long will that keep?
It had a sweet smell of almond and ghee which I loved . I believe it should be good for over a year or more ..
@@dazedinflavor thank you so much!
I tried this, but it is waterproof but not smudge proof😢
Thanks for the detailed video. Can we use this kajal to apply on new born baby eyes and cheek?
Can we use silver or copper plate for collecting the soot?
For mixing soot, can we use shea butter or vitamin e oil or beeswax?
Regarding applying to infants - please chk with ur pediatrician. I have personally not used copper plate or the other oils you have mentioned . Thanks
Thank you but what cotton you Use
Regular cotton
Can I add coconut flesh with the almond? Or will the consistency change?
I don’t think adding coconut flesh is a good idea
Its really helpful tq and doesnt affect that plate right
Thank you . U got some good cleaning to be done on the plate .. tats all 😀
This tutorial is so good . Thank you ❤️❤️
Thanks 😊
Thank you! This is really helpful. I've wanted to get some but I always found it to be expensive, but I already had all the stuff I needed at home! 😁
Awesome 👏
Is it safe to use the powder without adding ghee?
Yes .. as long as you can handle it with care
Can I use pistachio instead of almonds?
I recommend almonds . I haven’t heard about pistachios being used for this one .
Oh and it’s so beautiful!!!!
Thank you 😊
@@dazedinflavorI have watched many but none use 3 different oils. Can i use just olive oil? One video said i had to let the cotton sit in oil for 2 months same with another saying let cotton and almonds sit for 2 months?
Does metal matter? Are nuts important or alternative things??
Some metals may interfere with the heat . I haven’t tried using other metals .Nuts are optional .Almond has cooling effect .
How long does it last in storage?
I have been using for more than a year now
Amazing video 😍 Can you add camphor too?
I don’t .
Wowwww😍😍😍
how long do we have to keep the plate on the diyas?
As long as the lamp burns out of oil
what if the plate is “silver plated”?
Unsure .
Whn u add ingredients thn plz tell us the name of all ingredients like oil, ghee etc 🤔🤔It looks good n effective if u will write the name of ingredients while making kajal or anything.

hiiii english isnt my native language so i have a doubt...
ghee and butter would be the same thing ?
No different things. There are no protein milk solids or water in ghee that will ferment and spoil. It’s lasts longer when kept outside compared to butter .
It looks magical ❤
Thank you 😊
Awesome ❤️
Thanks 🤗
Hi, thank you for the video. I was wondering if using a copper plate for collecting soot would be ok…

Hi there! Can you apply the kajal with the ghee to your nails, or is it only for the skin? Will it last, or do we need glue?
This is meant for eyes
@@dazedinflavor Is it's substance toxic? Does it causes harm in longterms use?
So beautiful
Thanks
Can i use olive oil instead of mustard oil??
Sure
Hermosa que aceites son los q tu utilizas y si tienen la misma intensidad de los q se compran
Y si se aplican en seco o humedos
Recommended oil - castor oil , coconut oil , sesame oil , ghee . You can use oil with any intensity and can use it dry or wet according to your comfort . Wet is basically easy to handle for me
can we use badam oil
Yes we can
Where to find the stick that you used for applying surma because the stick is thin
I got it from eye makeup kit
Can i use sesame oil instead of ghee?
Yes you can
How durable is it? 🤔❤️🌷
It’s has lasted more than a year for me
Thank you Ma.Do you add camphor? And how much camphor would be ideal?
🌹
@@miriamsouzaacupunturaI don’t recommend camphor
