A word of caution. Do yourself a favor, buy this car without keyless go , there's no beeping. I have an 06 SL500 with standard key and have peace of mind. My CLK55AMG had keyless go and I really hated it. There is no way to get fully get rid of the beep. You can press a control on the steering wheel, but by that time it's already beeped for awhile, as it doesn't let you push the button right away. either. It also beeps when you exit the car. Just a warning to everyone. The Hell with Keyless Go. They should've named it Peaceless Go.

Don't get me wrong, I love the car. BUT, I cannot afford the repairs, the brakes on these cars are horrendous and expensive, the computer modules that control everything are like $500 each when they go bad, ONE shock absorber on this car is over $1000.
I found that out the hard way. I'm not poor at all, I make excellent money, but paying $900 for a tuneup or over a grand for a shock absorber ... or $2300 for all four brakes redone, is not my idea of how to waste my money ;p
Owning an SL is a skill and maintaining it an exercise in discipline. Low mileage, SL's are undervalued but require preventative maintenance average drivers are not willing to do. Plus, that "shock absorber" is a computerized hydraulic damper for the Active Body Control. Change the fluid early and shop aggressively.
After watching walkaround videos of others, yours always goes that extra mile. Most skip on the car's features, where you cover ALL the features. Either their not knowledgeable about the vehicle or just too damn lazy.

Be careful of the balance shaft in the Mercedes M273, and the Valve stem seals in the BMW N62. Both are a one time only, $5k-ish repair.
2008 SL is the 550, 2007 is SL500
