I put a spoon of fresh Lemon Juice and paint it all over the top then cover with plastic wrap. I have always done this plus the lemon juice is really good tasty! I can go back a few days later and NO YUKKY BROWN OR YUKKY TASTE! All for the Yuns!😅
Now THIS is what needs to be taught in schools🙃Thank you!!!!
This is genius! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for the great tips!
This is a game changer. Thanks for sharing.
Omg thanks so much for all your very very helpful video's now I know how to keep my guacamole or cut avocados looking fresh !!! 💖 thank you so much!!
Great idea. Thank you!!
I use oil (good veg oil or olive or avocado) rather than water. I also drop half avocados in a mason jar full of oil. A peeled half without the pit will keep for quite a long time in the fridge. If you have a food saver with the mason jar attachment, you can also store in an evacuated jar... I personally use a high vac refrigeration vacuum pump and a pressure cooker to accomplish this. I use this setup to seal jars for many items to avoid oxidation. Many food products go rancid if exposed to oxygen.... good quality whole wheat flour for example. Most folks don't have these kinds of "toys", and not in the kitchen if they do.......I use the vac pump for work, and use it so much in the kitchen that it lives there.... Food savers are a priceless kitchen accessory if you freeze anything, etc.
@Iwwy Iw I re-use the oil and eventually cook with it...... Food saver is a consumer vacuum sealing appliance. Some of us live far out in the country, and freeze a lot of food. Vacuum sealing eliminates freezer burn. The nearest grocery store to me worthy of the name is 50 miles. Hunters and fishermen use these a lot...It prevents a lot of wasted food.
Great tip! Thank you!
Thanks, that’s so helpful
Thank you for this tip!! I just made
guacamole.
Wow thanks for the tip
WOW!never knew that about the water.thanx 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much. I buy this delicious fresh made guacamole but it's a huge container and the top always turns brown after the first use but it stays green below. I usually scrape the brown to the side n eat the green below then slide the same bit of brown guacamole back over the green but sometimes I lose half the quacamole but I'm gonna try this tip next time. Thank you ❤❤❤
I liked to make my own salsa, and found that I could put a thin layer on top of the avocado then refrigerator. Keeps fresh for days
Thank you✨
Thank you!!♥️

genius. thanks!
Wooow thank you
I make fresh guacamole using Great Value (Walmart brand) mix. I was skeptical at first but it tastes as good as any brand name mix. Then I add orher ingredients like for example diced tomato. Select unripe avocado all about rhe same color and allow them to ripen at home.
I have been freezing leftover guacamole and sealing the surface with plastic wrap before placing container in freezer.
Thanks for the tip on keeping fresh guacamole refrigerator.
Use the saran wrap trick but use one of the spritz bottles of lemon or lime juice right before you seal it with the saran, you dont use a ton of the juice but it creates a nice barrier from oxidation with the addition of the saran wrap.
Good idea too❤
Great tip! Will try. For new viewers, content is at 2:30-3:00
thank you
Zip lock bag works good for us for avocado halves
Ima try it today at work
You ROCK!!!!!👍
Ty
WOW, thanks:)
Thanks
Cool.🙂
I'll make sure to remember this hack, thanks Mathew 🤗
you're welcome, Alisa! thanks for watching!
That’s a dope hack
Wowwwwww sick dude
A scoop of sour cream I like the taste and it keeps mine from turning brown. 🤷🏼♀️
I have tried everything except water. Great tip 👍
it's odd, but it does work!
I've layered with hummus, it worked. Smashed beans to layer, it worked. Was thinking pour liquid coconut oil, then mix in.... Tropical...mmmmm Thanks for water suggestion.
I'll odd this tip to my avaco-*DO* list!
Adorable lol
Just so you know. I disliked yiur comment
@@ketsuppi how dare you! 😆
Thanks a 100 times for saving my embarrassing quacamoli.
Maybe we are exposing avocados to a lot of air, taking too long making it up. Gonna put water on like you show, also not cutting open avacado until all ingredients are in mixing bowl. Thanks for this great tip!
Sis want every second to count! 😂
Hey Guys! I'm Matthew, The chef and Video Producer of this vid! have any questions? send em my way! Also come and see all the great recipes on my channel! :)
That's how I make mine except I throw in a skosh of worscheshire sauce and garlic powder. Mmmmm 😋
✨guaca-molay✨
I have a working theory that you can actually make the avocado last longer by up to 3 days if you seal additionally in a container. The question is, how long would the water stay on top and would the fat content win after a period of time absorbing?
I mean, it's not a working theory. That's a fact. Anything done to limit air will keep it fresh
they have special bowls at Amazon for guacamole for just this reason
God I love avocado
Stool goes off. I've tried the water trick
How about a layer of olive oil instead?
you could, but that would be a very expensive use of oil! :)
I have tried olive oil. It dint work for me
Will the water allow any bacteria to develop?
Only if your fridge dirty
@@bonushuntersentertainment it would be a sealed container...
citric acid is my secret...
This dude is living in the year 2490
Why not using oil instead...
go for it. but oil might solidify in the fridge. and also that could be quite expensive if you do it a lot. :) also the oil could impart flavor.
The only thing about this is the water will NOT stay on top. It will mix in. I know because I tried this

I was able to walk on water after this trick...
Just tought of this... Put plastic wrap n then add water..... Booom!!!!!!!
a spritz of lime juice on the surface of the guac, covered with saran wrap, covered with water - heavy duty protection! no baby poop guac in my house anymore!
boom. you solved life
@@tyzerro dang. i think your guac might survive the apocalypse! haha
Yeah I googled and I saw like images of all the different ways and then I thought of this plastic wrap then water but then I wanted to see a video of someone trying it
It doesn't work!!!!
I want all vedi of you
