    Patrice... Honestly which would you pick between the EasySubli or Subli Mate?

    • @CraftableThings
      @CraftableThings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I love EasySubli and would use first. They are different products with the same goal. EasySubli is a vinyl. Subli-Mate is a fabric. The EasySubli is better at cutting intricate shapes/designs and you don’t have to worry about it fraying/shedding. The Subli-Mate is a viable alternative. However, I wouldn’t recommend using it with very dark colored items. I’ve had most success with lighter colors. It almost blends in with the base color...which could be because of it’s lightweight/thinness.

    Great video. Although after watching this demonstration I don’t think Subli-Mate fabric is worth the cost. Subli-Mate fabric Is too experience (CRAZY $$$$$ for a few sheets) with all it’s limitations. Can’t cut Medium medium to small letters, outer cutting around images are limited, and colors do not pop. This is not the first video demonstrating Subli-Mate fabric and neither one change my mind. Best sublimation hack for dark colors is to use EasySubli which will provide those colors to standout. Yes, even EasySubli is way over priced, but not limited to cutting and will have vivid colors compared to Subli-Mate fabric. Overall, I. Did enjoy watching your video. Again, great job 😎

    I’m new to the t shirt making biz. This seems like a similar process as heat transfer paper. Is the outcome better or about the same?

    • @CraftableThings
      @CraftableThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's similar in application only. This material is actually fabric and doesn't crack over time when washes. Also, the ink used is sublimation ink.

  • @lucindadelacruz7687

    Hi, thank you for the review. I bought the sheets and tried it on a black 100% cotton shirt. I have my video posted on their channel as a review, it's the California license plate shirt. It's true about cutting straight lines or circle images works better. I love the outcome. I like the feel of the fabric compared to a printable transfer paper, it feels more light weight and seems more breathable. I haven't tried easysubli because of price wise but I think this is one of the best ways for dark cotton shirts. Do you think you'll get the same results if you cure the ink under a press, that way you don't have to wait for an hour?

    • @CraftableThings
      @CraftableThings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, I have cured it under the press for a few minutes and I got good results also. I let it sit under for about 10 minutes. I've sold a few shirts using it and my customers were thrilled with them..even after washing.

    But an hour ....

  • @slcraw4ord
    @slcraw4ord 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love you, I do but you are not subbing a dark shirt you are subbing a sheet and pressing the sheet onto the shirt. Dye sub can ONLY be done on a poly or poly blend substrate. The appeal of dye sub is the feel on the fabric, there is none. There are many products like this one that can be printed on that leave a soft feel on the garment and can be done with an ink jet or other printer. While I appreciate the honest review and testing, this IS NOT Dye Sub on Dark Fabrics like the video title states.

    • @CraftableThings
      @CraftableThings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sharon! I don’t disagree with you at all. I tried to explain as thorough as possible in the video that subbing onto these items is not possible and why. In the video, I also advise that you are subbing onto the sheet/fabric and simply pressing it into the shirt. I updated the title to say HACK, which I intended to do as I did in my Easy Subli video. So, thanks for the reminder. This is not true sublimation...whether with this product, Easy Subli, Glitter, Laminate Sheets or anything else that we use to get images onto products via sublimation inks and subbing onto another item and then using it on something that is incapable of taking the process. I have tried other transfer products with regular/pigment ink and, truthfully, they do not last long at all. The colors fade, they start to peel. This product does not peel after washing. It is a fabric.
