    I'm seeing long cracks, chippings and swollen stucco on one side of our house. What kind of paint should I use and how do I match the paint color? I live in Vancouver, BC and it seems we have an acrylic stucco.

      Hello Jancen, we recommend you chip off all loose stucco and clean the area to achieve a sound substrate. Then wet down the area with water and let it absorb. You can then apply Rapid Set Stucco Patch with the appropriate texture to match the existing finish. You will want to use an acrylic paint over the stucco repair. If you take a piece of the chipped off stucco to the paint department they can match the color. Stucco Patch can be purchased at your local Home Depot.

    My home is an eifs home and woodpeckers are drilling holes under my eaves is this the product to use rapid set stucco patch?

    • @CTSRapidSet
      @CTSRapidSet  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ken, apologies for my delayed response. I just saw this. Regarding your specific application, typically we wouldn’t recommend a cementitious (cement based) product on its own. For best results, you should prime your eifs to seal it from any moisture absorption, and then apply your repair product over the top. This is because wood tends to expand when it is exposed to moisture, and could pull away from your patch. The primer should protect it from that. If you are going to use a cementitious product, Rapid Set OnePass would be the correct one to use. But first you would want to follow the best results that's mentioned earlier (and not apply OnePass on its own). Hope that helps. Sincerely, Janet Ong Zimmerman, Director of Marketing

      no, absolutely not that is a different type, EIFS needs to be cut out than a bigger foam piece put in meshed bonded and colored I would recommend adding a stronger mesh to resist wood peckers

      Hello, a traditional hard-coat stucco is extremely strong and durable because it essentially covers your home with a layer of rock. Rapid Set Cement Stucco is made of sand, calcium sulfoaluminate cement and water. Basically, it is a fine-grained concrete that is attached to your house using a waterproof barrier paper, galvanized wire mesh, and metal flashings -- impossible for any woodpecker to penetrate.
      EIFS on the other hand, uses a multi-layer “synthetic” stucco that is much softer than traditional stucco.
      Adding Stucco Patch as a Barrier under your eaves will definitely help with that woodpecker problem. They will take a few pecks and realize it's too hard for them to mess with.

      CTSRapidSet so this will not crack Eifs cannot have any water intrusion cement holds water and wood peckers can just peck right next to it better off restuccoing the whole house

    • @CTSRapidSet
      @CTSRapidSet  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good morning. For homeowners who have that woodpecker problem, the woodpeckers might find the weak spots and continue pecking. So if homeowners want to avoid further damages by the woodpeckers, we definitely recommend re-stuccoing the house. If the entire house needs to be re-stuccoed, Rapid Set Stucco Mix is ideal for that job. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. Have a wonderful day.

      @@truthsyrup5764 Run over it with the course sponge on a handle. Not sure what the name is for the tool but it’s in the same area as the cement at hardware stores. Wet the sponge, then run over the patch from center to edge and it will texture.
