IBB lived out his full life w/o facing any consequences for ruining the Nigerian state. Abacha was poisoned and died unceremoniously, not before looting the Nigerian. Commonwealth.
Yes these guys showed us pepper...but you still have to hail them o!! This is where the Southerners could not compete ( and still don't seem to know how to) Babangida, a Gbagyi man from North central geopolitical zone built strong alliances with Abacha a Kanuri from the North east zone! They exploited or utilised their faith and geographical location as an advantage! And both had their solid respective tenures as head of state! Such alliances are hard to come by in Southern Nigeria . We crystallise our differences way too much! The only one that comes to mind is only the recent alliance of president Tinubu of Lagos and federal minister Nyesom Wike of Rivers! In the South east people can even create a political cleavage between different denominations of the same faith!! Politics needs a certain amount of machination to control the levers of power! We gonna learn!! 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!!!
This is not an authentic history, this a fantasy of the author/narrator's couched in historical parlance. The author presented no evidence that Babangida and Abacha were anywhere near the coup of July 1966, or presented any evidence of them having participated in any coups other than the opportunistic ones of December 31st 1983, August 27, 1985, and November 18, 1993; yet the author coronated them with an expert-successful-serial-coup plotting tag team since 1966; the author adduced no evidence of the duo's civil war exploits, yet he categorically asserted that they (especially Abacha) distinguished themselves in the war. The author severally asserted that the duo respected military hierarchy, in the same story he is extolling their expertise at carrying out successful coups, which is the definition of not respecting military hierarchy. This is not history, it is hagiography, a shameful sycophantic scheme that was popularized as an art form, by starving journalists and hungry authors/"activists", during the eras of Babangida and Abacha. But for this oxymoron, being passed here as history, Nigeria would not have gone through the political traumas it went through, and continues to go through. Unfortunately, younger Nigerians and Nigerians with minimal formal education/analytical prowess would accept this farce as history. Tufiakwa!
Abacha is the single most competent sold>er in Nigerias history
The duo of Babangida and Abacha are the solid foundation upon which the sordid and horrible corruption as seen in Nigeria are built on.
People will not forget the two of them in hurry. They are very wicked souls. They are very brutal. Both of them are very deceitful.
If you were a soldier going by your remarks would be more brutal than the duo
This is an excellent historical documentary. I applaud your work. Your music 🎶 is always fitting for your historical narratives. 😊
Thank you very much! 😊
