I've made custom coaster files in a very similar fashion. I found a website that will "extrude" JPG's and then create STL files. I morph those with a generic coaster file I already downloaded and have created coasters for my brother-in-law and his maple syrup & honey business, my own coaster with my TH-cam Channel logo, etc. 3D printing can be frustrating at times when prints don't work as planned, but it is so much fun when they do!
Hey, Rick! I see there are lots of .stl train stuff files out there. Not sure if my entry-level printer can print smooth enough for tiny HO parts. But if you see a file out there that looks interesting, let me know and we can try printing it. stanfm@aol.com

Sounds cool!
Thank you for sharing. That was pretty neat Stan, so many things to make with the printer, and some TH-camrs are making HO rail-cars. Thanks, Gary
Yes, Gary, seems limitless!
Who makes your coffee cups for you? I want to make some for my railroad.
I had that mug made for me by VistaPrint.
@@StanFerris Oh, awesome, I think I still have a VistaPrint account 😅
It was not cheap, though. :(
@@StanFerris oh bummer deal...I really like cheap 🤣
Nice job Stan. I got some things I need printed - let’s talk!
