The fact that we live in a world where Toto has 8 or 9 million more listeners than Springsteen is unfathomable! And welcoming to the Blocking Community! Don't like Springsteen or Hanks? The Humanity!!!

The song Born in the USA has been misunderstood. It’s a protest song about a Vietnam War vet. Bruce Springsteen hated that Republicans appropriated. You haven’t heard his early work, his first and second albums which are my favorites. His first album was Greeings From Asbury Park and his second album The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle and Born To Run which doesn’t have a bad song on it.
Thanks Susan, have actually heard 'The Wild...' a few years back, but certainly need to give Born to Run a full listen at some point! JSB
Go back and check out Born in the USA. Its not a patriotic marching song for Trump "USA USA USA!" fans as you might think. Its the complete opposite and a protest song. The lyrics juxtaposed against the background of the music. The chorus ironic. And it rocks.
Thanks Steve, but this one's a lost cause. I've come to appreciate many of Bruce's songs, but that one will forever be anathema to me, ha! JSB
