I'm gonna take a stab and say that the controls of this game are pressure sensitive? He seems like the type of person to screw up controls in general, let alone pressure sensitive ones.

You joke but this part actually is pretty annoying, making Ethan turn is like trying to maneuver a 200 pound shopping cart in a small space, if you don't make the turn it becomes really annoying to turn yourself around and try again, there's also a time limit, if you take too long Ethan just freaks out and you lose. Also, the reason Phil is moving slowly is because the game tells you to, Ethan says he won't get hurt if you move slowly, which is bullshit. Granted Phil still fucks up basic movement mechanics, and this late in the game at that.

Phil's brightness settings make this dark tunnel like staring into the sun.
I like how the dark tunnel is meant to make it harder and more dramatic and he has the brightness turned up to fuck so all ambience is ruined.
