Beautiful adaptation of this selection from Elgar's Enigma Variations, sensitively interpreted by this magnificent choir and it's conductor. Heartfelt thanks!
What a tragedy it took me 11 years to find this utterly enchanting piece. Elgar's 'Nimrod' is one of the very few pieces that can be played by a military band (as at the Cenotaph), by an orchestra (as the Philadelphia did at the Albert Hall the day the Queen died), on an organ as so many have and sung by a choir. This choir slowed it down just as an organist has to do to get the clarity of each phrase. But beautifully done. To have a choir from the USA put such beautiful textures and counter harmonies in to a quintessentially British melody really got to me. Well done all in Kansas City.
Wonderful, great conductor, magnific voices. Heavenly.
I hope there's music like this in heaven.
