DOCTOR WHO (2005) LORE
On the distant planet of Gallifrey, there existed an ancient race known as the Time Lords. With their ability to simultaneously see all that is, was, or could be, they monitored time and space to prevent and repair paradoxes. Unfortunately, Gallifrey became embroiled in the Last Great Time War with the merciless Daleks and was lost when the Time Lord known as The Doctor used a doomsday device to end the war definitively.
The Doctor, however, escaped Gallifrey aboard the TARDIS, a sentient time machine, and wandered the universe as the last of the Time Lords, eventually landing on Earth and disguising the TARDIS as a blue police box that is "bigger on the inside." Torn between his sense of right and wrong and the Time Lord policy of non-interference, The Doctor must constantly prove to himself that his actions are for the greater good.
Armed with only a condescending wit and a sonic screwdriver, The Doctor will need the help of a colorful cast of companions to protect his adopted planet and all of time and space from the Daleks, the Cybermen, the Weeping Angels and more of the universe's most malevolent species.

Pretty accurate, although you forgot to mention that the Time Lords can regenerate, usually when they're fatally wounded.

+Bigattck Firecat well, that is correct but it's a relatively recent spoiler so I kinda get why they didn't show that. but after galifrey went "poof" the daleks exterminated eachother in the crossfire. Or well most of em did.

hmmm, your suggesting he ran away from Gallifrey because of the Time War.. He ran away from Gallifrey as the 1st doctor. The Time War started when he was the 8th doctor.

The Doctor didn't choose the turn the T.A.R.D.I.S into a police box. It has a circuit that helps disguise it so people don't try and steal it, it just happens to be broken so the T.A.R.D.I.S is stuck as a police box.
But he chooses not to fix it.

To clarify: most of the said Lore is related more to the "modern" Doctor, rather than the classical one (lore from which is barely mentioned). Also some facts was glossed over or slightly altered.

Cous it's not like the last two episodes which aired the magicians apprentice and the witches familiar are based off a line from the classic show

There's a mistake. He didn't disguise the TARDIS as a police box. It was supposed to take on the shape of certain objects in order to fit into whatever environment it landed in, but then there was a problem in London and it got stuck as a police box.

why start at the time war? they misses a HUGE chunk of lore from classic who. or at least where the show started originally

christopher eccleston is a great actor who really got it popular again when they brought it back, the first series was great

Wow, do you guys do any research? It would have been more informative if you did a LORE for each incarnation of the Doctor.
Not to be "That fan" but it's really kind of sad that nu who fans are just retconning the classic series. According to this the doctor must have been spending 8 incarnations of his life living on galifrey with his thumb up his arse.
He stole the tardis way back in his first incarnation long before the time war was even a thing and yeah for a lore video it could have been nice to have at least given a few nods to the classic era. Understandable that new people sort of need an entry way to the series and series 1 from 2005 is a good place but this is meant to be a "lore" video you know about lore? So kind of really missed an opportunity here.
Also to everyone calling this the "doctor who reboot series" The new series isn't a reboot it was a continuation set in the same canon and mythos so if anything the 2005 run could be considered more of an ambassador series.
Technically, that’s incorrect. Hundreds of years ago the Doctor stole a TARDIS and left Gallifrey to explore the universe. The TARDIS is able to change it’s appearance to suit it’s time and location, so when they landed in Earth, London, 1963, it transformed into a classic Police call box. Due to an error, it ended up stuck in this form permanently. Many years later, after 8 regenerations, the Doctor returns to Gallifrey, where he fights in the time war. The Time Lord race becomes extinct, besides himself and a few exceptions, as he escapes and continues his adventures. That’s the correct story.

The actual reason why the TARDIS is a blue police box is because when he went to 1963 it changed to the police box of the time and in the time he was there he happened to break the chameleon circuit (The thing that disguises the TARDIS)

It would take a while to explain everything... At least 30 minutes
+LordVader1094 Erm... To tell the truth 40k lore isn't that hard. Yeah you have a lot of books but they just add some flavor to it without development of the story
PandaBearWithMic All they did in the Warhammer 40k lore in 1 minute video was detail the history of the IMPERIUM and Chaos Space Marines. That's just one race out of seven.
What about the Eldar? What about the Necrons? What about the War in Heaven?
The tyranids? The Tau? The Warp?
All of those things are an important part of 40k lore.
The long and short of it is that you can't fit all of 40k lore into a single minute.
LordVader1094 You probably can't fit it one minute. But I still think that lore of 40k isn't that complex.
Also majority of books are about Imperium. And most most "loved" guys of all universe are Marines. So basically it's all about them :(

I would like to point out that it is incorrect that he disguised the TARDIS as a blue police box, a TARDIS changes appearance to fit in with the surroundings, but The Doctor's TARDIS broke whilst it was a disguised as a blue police box.

He disguised the Tardis long before the time war, and he didn’t fight the time war in his 9th Incarnation, but as the War Doctor.

Fast Fact: When a Whovian wants to get someone hooked to Doctor Who, ironically they tell them to watch the episode with the weeping angels despite the episode featuring very little of the Doctor.

The Doctor doesn't leave Gallifrey because of the Time War, he left centuries before that. The Time War takes place in between the original run and the new run. This only covers about 10ish years of the show lol
The War Doctor actually "ended" the time war, not the 9th. I get it, if they were just focusing on the lore of New Who Season 1 but that's a weeping angel right there, dude!

Great job of explaining the recent series, but it ignores the series back when it started in black and white and all that. For instance, the Time War that ended in the doomsday device only happened after the series timeline had started. Great job on the current series, though! Well spoken and fun! :)
So much of this was wrong. The Doctor stole the TARDIS long before the Time War. They mixed up the classic series and the modern series. The TARDIS was stolen by the 1st Doctor, definitely not the 9th. Also, it's true that the Doctor's 9th incarnation ended the time war, but it was not Christopher Eccleston, it was John Hurt, the War Doctor. There are some more mistakes, but those are forgivable because they were likely to keep from spoiling the 50th anniversary special.

The TARDIS was programmed to change forms depending on it's location. If it was in ancient Rome, it would be a Roman statue. One time he went to Britain and disguised it as an out of order police call box, but there was an error in the system, keeping it locked as the police box. The Doctor was going to fix it, but he was fascinated with how it looked, so he never fixed it.

One slight problem, the people of Gallifrey weren't all time lords, a time lord is a genetically enhanced citizen of Gallifrey who graduated from the academy.

Well Obviously they'd forget a few things given this show has been around for over 50 years and all the lore simply can't be put into 1 minute its impossible.

its all wrong, the timelords didnt die and neither did "doctor who" planet. the first doctor who escape a planet that almost got him killed/arrested (its unclear of what would happen). its not until the 2 second doctor who that became the timelord but not immortal he can still die even if he keeps on dying.

If people can sit down and watch Bleach or some other long show, they can watch the first 26 seasons. I started watching in 1996 at age four, and by age ten I had seen all of classic who that existed at the time. Now we have the internet, so there really isn't any reason not too. lol But, whatever.

except the TARDIS was stuck as a police box WAAYYYY before the time war, and the doctor NEVER paid any attention to the laws of interference. His 2nd body was executed because of this, so the 9th doctor was way past caring at that point
