Any updates on this? Did the X Ultra improve after breaking it in? If now, what else would you recommend for mostly filter, but occasional espresso in this price range?
I like my x-ultra. It is very smooth. It has 3 internal bearings. Grinding for espresso with the flair is very easy. I only have a timemore c3 to compare to though.
@@P121L_24 I like the 1zpresso more for sure. The timemore does fine though. I ordered an adjustment plate for the C3 from Ali express for $4. It gives me 30 clicks per rotation instead of the original 12. It would probably do espresso now.
@@xenodrake4008 not necessarily a better burr, depends on what you are using for, this channel did some testing and found for pourover and lighter roast styles the sharper outer burr might be better as its more similar to the zp 6
@@xenodrake4008 I bought an X Pro in late 2023 and it has the same burr set as the X Ultra with the sharp outer burrs and short center burr. I bought the X Pro so I could make cleaner pour overs and Aeropress than my K4, and it accomplishes that. I like how easy it is to grind espresso with the X Pro. I find the brighter acidity of the X pro espresso interesting, but I prefer the thicker body of the K4.

Can the X-ultra be used for drip, pour over and espresso?
100%! I have the x-pro and it grinds fine enough and without enough adjustment for espresso. But works even better for drip and pour over
the x pro is better bacause the ultra has a different outer burr
