Rolling your corners without braking will help with speed at most tracks. Also before you get back into the gas mid corner i always go in on the throttle just a little, not even a second at least 2 or 3 times until i feel the front end turn and get the speed off the corner to make the pass. Its different for everyone though that's just what helps me.
Btw Trevor there you are completely allowed to go under the yellow line at any track except for Daytona and Talladega and there is an option to turn the cautions on.
Minimum braking, let off gas early hit turn perfectly gun it on the straight, don’t have your car too lose or there’s a good chance of wall but if too tight then you’ll be too slow, the mechanics in the game are amazing and relatable to actual NASCAR, gotta love it

By tightening the car you are essentially getting more grip which mean you are putting more friction between the tire and the track, which will make your tires wear faster. You want to find the right balance of grip and a control slide. You don’t want to be so loose that you are literally drifting the corners. Also try to stay somewhat middle of the corner and ride the wall in the straights. NASCAR and any kind of circuit racing is about momentum. Brake before a corner and not in the middle of a corner.
Hey try this in the console because u can be more faster by quick moments and u can also slide a bit in corners at high speeds but not too much. Yea man great work..keep it up

@tmartn2 there are cautions but you must turn them on. Also there are different cameras, you can race from the cockpit or hood. I prefer the hood unless I’m in a pack of cars

Is it me or does heat 5 look alot better then previous nascar games, I can see visual things like bounce in the car and better graphics , more realism then before.
Your tires can go over the yellow line, you just can't pass under the yellow line. But the game doesn't punish you for that like Nascar would, so people dive really deep under the yellow line at Phoenix, driving almost right next to put lane (off of the last turn, through the black paint on the asphalt), and gain a ton of time.
At ISM raceway, ur tires can go all the way down to the wall on that one turn, if u get the chance, watch a race on YT or something like that! U can and will learn a lot!
Hey trev sent this on the last video as well hope you see it. If you wanna avoid the auto braking and more control over the car try changing your driver assist setting to normal or hard (this one in my opinion)! Loving the nascar vids though!!

You know you’re good at the game when your KDR is bigger than most of your placements 😂. Love the series bro I’m honestly thinking about getting the game and a wheel even though I’m not completely a fan of NASCAR. (I do watch some races with my dad at times)
To Trev, great vids. Look into a technique called trail braking, or left foot braking. It can help you get into corners faster and hold the car down in long corners. I think it would help you in F1 also.
So I watch a bubba Wallace video on this game. So in your first lap stay high on track to build up speed and when qualifying time starts dip and stay at bottom of track.
Trev you are still over driving your car, you still need to hold your race lines, the more you move around in the corners the more your tires wear down.
You can change how loose your car gets as the race goes on as well as the AI’s cars. Turn yours to more stable so you don’t get super loose at the end and get smoked by the AI because they don’t have the same effect. Also play with the length and tire wear so you can take advantages of pits and turn on cautions so you can move up during those as well!
Hey, Trev, u should really upgrade to the fanatec series. They have F1 and Nascar wheels, and u can change them in literally in 2 seconds. Mby consider it. Keep up the awesome work.

Look out for the "Draft Partner" indication. you use each other to move up. sling shot each other. helps to catch up to the pack if you fall behind.

you can set your turn up by hitting your brakes going in to the turns
Change your setting to 25% of the race & make the tires wear out 4x to get the most realistic racing
