As an American born in the northeast and have been slowly making my way toward the southwest most of my life. The more authentic Mexican the food is, the better - which makes sense for any national foods, really. It can be quite good, which has been a decades-long discovery of mine having grown up not very fond of it (garbage "tex-mex", taco bell, etc). As most people can attest, Mexican food can easily be bad when impersonated poorly in other countries. However, it's only English food that is rubbish even in its own home country.
English food is good if you know the right places, and trust me tourists dont know the right places (fucking Wetherspoons). The reason for the constant hate on British food stems from when Americans finally joined WW2 (2 yrs late) and travelled to England who had been living on rations whilst fighting a loosing battle against Fascist tyranny whilst Americans selfishly held on to isolationism.

As an American born in the northeast and have been slowly making my way toward the southwest most of my life. The more authentic Mexican the food is, the better - which makes sense for any national foods, really. It can be quite good, which has been a decades-long discovery of mine having grown up not very fond of it (garbage "tex-mex", taco bell, etc). As most people can attest, Mexican food can easily be bad when impersonated poorly in other countries. However, it's only English food that is rubbish even in its own home country.
