    Know your role, history, and have respect. Find yourself, as a bboy, and you'll grow within the scene.

    Nice! From what I've learned and heard from Dyzee, yes, he is very knowledgeable.

    The judges might have thought Profo was fresh because it's not everyday you see footwork like that around Seattle. Most of the bboys down there focus on the artistry. Free has got enough medals and rings from this event anyway haha. They both deserve a lot of respect though. Could have goen either way in my eyes.

    Deciding if a bboy is dancing to the music or hitting beats is still subjective because it depends on your perception of the music which can differ from person to person. Additionally, bboying as a dance is so much more than hitting the beat. If a bboy were to change his step to a slower speed as the music gets slower, you can see that and say "Dope he's dancing to the music". This adds a whole other layer of depth to musicality which not everyone can see eye to eye because of said subjectivity.

    Taught you about musicality? May be you misinterpreted, misunderstood, or/and put it into your own perspective, which came out wrong. No offense, but, he was with rhythm and finesse, so that's basically dancing with musicality. Just to include, Dyzee was also the person that brought out my confidence, attitude, and character. Also taught me the QUEENS style, woo!

    Keep in mind that even in a 4/4 beat count, breaking isn't meant to hit each beat evenly-- it should be like a drummer that can do 3 on top of 4, or 6 on 4, etc. Most bboys do this unconsciously, i think.

    I'm not sure you know what it means to dance on beat. The beat in all the songs was in 4/4, with 4 measures, making it a 16 beat count. As is typical of pop music, the last bar is used as a kind of roll into the downbeat of 1 of the series of 16 beats. Most people think 'beat hitting' is hitting that downbeat on 1, but it's really about dancing to all 16 beats, in this case. And yes, they were dancing on beat, if you watch closely.

    @axium403 you know the full song name and artist??

  • @jmflip7
    @jmflip7 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can't expect people to go by your notion...People have different aspects in breaking. So it's more of a plus if you hit the beat than not flow with the music at all. Each one had musicality to their style, but not the in-depth beat-hitting you wanted.

  • @jmflip7
    @jmflip7 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, put that style in your character, it'll help you allot.
    He was on tempo with the music, basically. You don't have to necessarily hit the beat (bass, snare, crash cymbals, et cetera) all the time. Having that finesse or even pacing with the music is reasonable enough.
    I'm pretty sure you don't hit the snare/bass 100% of the time. In fact, nobody does. Especially Bboys/Bgirls that are base on long-sets, and not free-styling.

    Dope battle, very close, free won in my eyes, but profo sure is a beast, respect to both :)

    For example, I don't know if you missed it or just didn't consider it to be hitting beats, Profo at 0:26 certainly looked like he was hitting the beat to me.

    If you could prove to me, via video clip on youtube, that someone does 100% "beat" hitting, let's see it. If not, your sarcasm should be kept to yourself. Profo Won has a big influence in the community, and I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing. He obviously won this 1v1 event, correct? Respect & Peace.

    Profo exhibited a much more refined footwork style than Free. Dope battle though.

  • @kaminaridono
    @kaminaridono 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree, that's true. But, have you ever studied rhythm before? Just trying to 'feel out' 7/4 on top of 4/4 isn't very easy.

  • @Gezuzu23
    @Gezuzu23 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    OH goood, he did not beat free just now lol, I love them both but another look over and over, he kept it smooth up to the good feel of speed, and touched the music the right way, Profo was over clockin it and not listening to the music
