Multiple faults. The trigger return spring is broken/missing, causing a bump stock effect while also pushing up on the firing pin block. The sear is not resetting, so it's probably worn down or blocked. It looks like the safety lever is in the safe position. So, that physically removes the path to the firing pin. The only way to get around all of that is not having any springs in the gun at all, except for the buffer spring.

I recently had a coworker ask me to check out the handgun he put together. He said the gun went full auto. I loaded a magazine, aimed downrange, chambered a round and pulled the trigger. The gun did in fact go cyclic and dumped the magazine. He had installed a bad sear.

That facial expression really did it for me personally 😆

This is often caused by a jammed firing pin. Check your weapon thoroughly before loading it. And always keep the direction of the weapon on the safe side.
Even with this suprise and constant recoil hes still in control and moving the gun away from.any potential danger 5 Stars my latino brother

@@matthewdanko4064 the other 10% are the idiots who shoot themselves WHILE cleaning the gun.
100%
Yup you should clean all your guns after using them, regardless of a few shots or not. I even clean my ccw periodically because of dust etc.
That gun didn't run away because it was dirty.
I had a 1911 do this to me, the issue was the sear spring in the back of the handle where the grip safety is, the middle spring ( because it’s a fork spring there’s 3 tines) was over polished and not allowing the hammer to catch, causing it to go brrrrt
I had a Desert Eagle .357 shoot a few rounds automatically; I was shooting reloads when it happened. Figured the sear spring got fouled.
Design flaw or upgrade?
Thinking this was a Series 70 1911 (?)
So what I’m hearing is over polish for a full auto? Sweet great advice!
Except wouldn't that require you to pull the trigger to fire the first round? This guy never had his finger on the trigger, it fired when he dropped the slide. I'm going with firing pin jammed forward somehow - dirt, rust, bent pin are all likely suspects.
A lot of people would have freaked out and dropped it or turned it as a shock reaction. This is awesome
Stuck firing pin is a scary thought. This is why keeping your weapon aimed in a dmsafe direction is so important and this guy did a great job.
“Stuck firing pin” 🧐
Yeah, that makes sense. Or at least to me I can see how it could happen in a rifle.
only if it's loaded

I would call it a malfunction, ATF would call it an assault rifle/pistol

ATF will call tjat video proof of a felony.
ATF? You mean the morons that would consider a wrist brace on a slingshot to be a ‘bump stock’?

Short barreled rifle actually.. if you have the stabilizer attachment.. the dreaded "Arm Brace" lol.. Gmafba... Those idiots are relentless in their prosecution of their own ignorant idiocies.

What does that have to do with the run away?
Are they also considered fully auto until proven empty

😢😅😅😅
His reaction time vs the time magazine got empty . Scary
You can see the fear in his eyes, mouth, and moustache
Multiple faults. The trigger return spring is broken/missing, causing a bump stock effect while also pushing up on the firing pin block. The sear is not resetting, so it's probably worn down or blocked. It looks like the safety lever is in the safe position. So, that physically removes the path to the firing pin. The only way to get around all of that is not having any springs in the gun at all, except for the buffer spring.
thank gods nerds exist
Doesn’t it seem like the firing pin is just somehow fixed?

Been around firearms for 35 years, and I've carried for the last 15. I can honestly say that I didn't even know this type of malfunction could happen. It makes sense, a stuck firing pin, but I never once considered it as something that could happen. Always keep em pointed in a safe direction!
More than just a stuck pin. The trigger sear was not working either. My guess is an amateur trigger job gone wrong. I’ve seen it before.
In my experience slam firing is more common on older guns, but it's still something that could always happen.
@@erroneous6947 could also be the decocker was malfunctioning causing the hammer to strike the firing pin I have an old pmk 380 that issue is known on those and berettas have a similar mechanism

SKS's are sort of know for pulling that little stunt, typically when they haven't been cleaned.
Same here, it triggered me back when on the firing range for qualification with the M-16
I was at an interclub 3 gun, and some guy had bought an sks that slam fired, emptied the whole box/magazjne into the first target... the range officer was less than impressed
Is that what it is? The cosmoline?
I had an old norinco sks that I could slam fire reliably by spamming the trigger. If you spam it fast enough it cycles extra rounds, very odd but enjoyable niche malfunction for the sks'
@@tomsteele7397youre likely bump firing the sks, what you see here is called a runaway gun malfunction and the sks is known for these malfunctions. A dude killed himself at my gun club because of this malfunction, bolt unlocked and ran foward while he was downrange fixing his targets, took a burst from his own sks while it was sitting on the bench, added a new rule to the club, all firearms must be "cold" before moving in front of the firing line. It should be noted that this is very rare, and in like 60 some odd years of operation, this has only happened a handful of times at my club with only one instance of it resulting in a fatality. This isnt a public range, so its generally summed up as "big boy rules," every member is a range safety officer. For this reason, members can operate in manners that wouldnt be allowed at public ranges. The "action area" is a good example of this, you get a mini "personal range" where you control the firing line and youre free to shoot and move around, like you see guys doing when competimg/training for 3 gun competition.
