Help Rebuild Yerbah Skate Shop and Support Porto Alegre Flood Victims!
Dear Friends, Customers, Community Members, and the Skateboarding Industry,
We hope this message finds you well. As many of you are aware, the recent floods in Porto Alegre have had a devastating impact on our beloved city. Unfortunately, Yerbah Skate Shop and our Vans Sales Rep Office were directly affected, sustaining significant damage. The floodwaters inundated our shop for over three weeks, causing immense loss and disruption.
In this moment of need, we are reaching out to our incredible community and the broader skateboarding industry for support. Your generosity can help us rebuild and bounce back stronger than ever. Here are the key areas where we seek assistance:
1. Repairs to Reopen and Resume Operations
Getting back on our feet is our top priority. The shop requires extensive repairs, including:
Structural restorations and equipments
Electrical and plumbing work
Interior refurbishments
2. Replacement of Lost Stock and Inventory
We lost a significant amount of stock due to the flooding. To continue serving our loyal customers, we need to replace:
Skateboards & parts
Apparel and accessories
Shoes and apparel
3. Community Support and Relief
We believe in giving back to the community that supports us. With your help, we aim to:
Organize donation drives for affected families in our barrio, 4o distrito, the community that we already have partnership.
* we are Partner with LPSTK Inc (lpstk.org), an U.S. based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and help push their campaign to rebuild Skate Na Vila, a social project that works with kids from an underserved community in our neighbourhood, heavily destroyed by the flood.
Provide essential supplies and support for rebuilding homes
Rebuild the home of one of our employees who has lost everything in the flood. Mrs. Onilde, an employee for more than a decade, has lost her home, including all furniture, clothes, etc.
