Am I your first subscriber?? Love the video. I am a huge typewriter fan and own around 25 machines. Glad to see another good channel about the wonderful typewriter!! Feel free to reach out with any questions, I am fairly decent at repair although nowhere near a professional. Looking forward to more videos from you guys!

Dan Miller: How long have you had this hobby? What kinds of machines interest you the most? Do you have a favorite machine? Do you have “pets?” Have you named any of them?

Just found a typewriter at goodwill recently and got interested in everything about it! I hope to see more great content from y'all in the future!

Looks like you fixed this one fairly fast!! One machine I have, a 1956 Underwood model SX-150, took me four days and nights to repair. I shoved half a 1959 Underwood Touch Master into it. It continues to work after 18 years.

@@johntapp7232 Don't worry- there are plenty of repair jobs that have taken me much much longer (I'm months in on a royal 10 restoration)

Quite envious :-D you take apart the maschine clean it up a bit and schwupp the ruddy thing works. My electrics seem to be the bane of my existance. I have gotten some project maschines, it would seem. No problem, I am still learning to fix them. My manual typewriters however are up and running faster than you can say: super califraglistic expecto patronum glass half fullus
I have been watching many of your videos of late and frankly admire your willingness to dive right into the units. Take them apart and rebuild. I am slowly getting to that point myself. Keep up the amazing work.

You'll get there with your projects! Every time I work on one, I learn something new

Nice! Perhaps one day, Donald could return to do a guest appearance? 🙂 Otherwise, it would also be cool to see some new content with opening up the machines, small repairs, cleaning etc on this channel!
I know there's other channels that do this (I've subscribed to a couple of them) but this is just such a vibe!
    😊❤👍

Love the video! I have a similar electric typewriter (Sears Electric 1) but I can't get the carriage to move when I type. From what I've read, it seems like the carriage lock is engaged but I can't find it for the life of me. Do you have any suggestions on how I could fix it?

It may be a carriage lock OR it may be the drive belt! The drive belt actually moves the whole motor. That would be a little rubber belt inside that corrodes over time. In my experience, when a typewriter doesn't move when typing (electric) it's the drive belt. I have a video coming out in a few weeks that will help with that!

Is your 53-year old pet typewriter’s name spelled “Jen?” She looks beautiful and regal.
