Beautiful job I really enjoyed watching that video. I wish I had the skill to do exactly what you just did. The only motor Iv ever rebuilt is a 50cc. I know that's nothing compared to H22A.
What did you do with the cylinders? They don't look sleeved, did you hone the cylinders with that RMF coating in there or did you just install the rings with the factory RMF cylinder coating?
There are markings on the crank and block that tell you which color bearings to put where. Also, for the rod bearings, it is safe to use all green bearings (depending on the oil weight of course).
Can someone help me I am rebuilding my H22a4 and I am seeing a different oration of the Head gasket from what I see in the picture. What is the correct direction?
nice vid, very nice... but I can only sit here wondering why out of nine comments, ten including mine has he not responded to any of them... there are direct questions in the comments section yet, none were answered. One has to wonder the purpose of the video if not to answer valid questions from viewers. Thanks,
there is no oil pan gasket from factory for 98 engine prelude..they just use sealant .oil pan also came with Aluminium material different from older model h22a design oil pan
Bald Vulture a seal goes on the end of something to retain fluid within, he’s missing a gasket. I mean if your going to talk shit at least make sure you know what the fuck your talking about... You do the same thing a lot of these internet guys do and think you know everything
I didn’t use that seal and vetc still worked in my h23a but it was kind of inconsistent and it would roll into vtec sometimes instead of snapping into it
@@jamesstewart1794 update 3 years later, h22 FRM sleeves can not be serviced at a regular machine shop, none near me actually, so I'd have to get the block re-sleeved to have normal compression,so I switched to F20b and never had issues since.
What did you use to create that beautiful exterior shine on the block and head? Some kind of paint or powder coating?
Nice one💪👍🔥🤝💯

Man That's a nice lookin motor, awesome job
forgot oil orifice o ring under the center cam retainer but its too late now
I didn't see him gauge the bearings... how do you know if there correct?
hey, bearing is Installed ;)

Beautiful finished product!
I wish I could see the part where the thrust washers were installed
slots facing out and stick them with assembly lube.
WHat are the gapping specs tho for a standard h22a4 bore :(
Im very impressed.
Thank you for sharing this, was really interesting to watch.

What kinda oil lubricant or wat is it that u used when u would put some on the cams and rod bearings? Brand?
what engine number was this? i.e. h22a8
What did u spray on the new headgasket?
Copper spray
how do I take the pistons out
Old pistons used or u go oversize?
Aha so it doesn't have an oil pan gasket. Been looking all over the place for one. Nice.
should have done the valve seals while you were at it , they go bad in these engines pretty regularly
My 98 prelude would blow so much blue smoke everytime I started it up and drove off from a redlight, lol.
What head gasket do I us for this build
Well the OEM gasket unless youre doing a performance build in that case the gasket you use depends on what you're doing to the engine.
A show of hands who has a h22 with a wobbling harmonic balancer 🙋

thank you, I answer the question
no budget for an oil pan gasket?
Aaron Johnson they suck silcon better last longer and doesnt leak like the pos paper they give u trust

Vtec wont work, because the seal is missing, you did the same thing alot of people do and forgot to put the center seal back on the head.

It's nice to watch!
Hello! I'm going to do the repair of the motor H22A too. Which piston rings did you use?
Sorry, but I do not remember:)
wish h22a had cast iron block!
Nice rebuild man.the motor will last years after rebuild like that
I'm surprised no ARP head studs
Is a normal rebuilt. Customer probably didn't want to spend extra money
I would have rebuilt H22a
parts list?
thumbs up. .
old pistons ?
yes
Mindaugas Grubliauskas dis you do any work to the block like bore it or hone it ?
how much for that reuild
about 200-300e :)
Nice vid...
Can I pay you to get you to do that to mine??
Not honing the bores? BIG mistake!!!
h22 bores not necessary honing, becose h22 bores made from special metal
I didn't notice a torque wrench being used.
Did you watch the video, because it was used almost everywhere?
I think you need your eyes checked!
I just rebuilt mine and I have blow by real bad ,FRM SLEEVES 👎
FRM has a lot of myths surrounding it..
What was the problem
